    Really enjoyed watching . The views at 4:36 and at 6:52 just beautiful. The person recording did a great job in my opinion, i sort of felt that i was literally on the plane.

    Hey this was totally cool to see... Leaving from my home state Alaska to go over the north pole. Too cool! :) Summers are definitely beautiful up here. This video gives me great ideas!

    You can tell there are Germans on the plane. Someone is blowing his nose passionately at 11:17 min.

    Wow, fascinating. That's something I wouldn't mind doing. And I'd like to fly Lufthansa; everybody I know who has flown with them had only good things to say.

    I think you'll find that they do. Emirates fly regular dubai - JFK or Newark flights on the 777. It doesn't matter whether it has 4 engines or 2, you could lose 2 engines on the port side of a 747 which would be the same as losing one engine on a 777. It's not about the number of engines, it is the amount of time an aircraft can maintain altitude and bleed air requirements on a single engine. This 767 can dump fuel which would likely be another requirement to increase single engine perfmnc

    in Condor economy class there are no individual screens... I read something that they're trying something out like WLAN inflight entertainment, so people with iPads or smartphones can access a database of movies music etc. on board. unfortunately there are still no screens on the back of the seats.
    and not sure whether the WLAN service is already running on all B767 planes

      Flow198812 i flew with them in 2015 on exact the same route, and in economy class there were individual screens

    • @jaswindersinghsuniara800

      North pole was about 400 nautical miles from the most northerly point on the route

    why do commercial flights go over the north pole, Iceland and Greenland? is it because its a shorter route or does it have something to do with the Jetstream?

    • @kingofallwhites
      @kingofallwhites 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The North Pole is used as a faster route to get to certain destinations depending on where you are leaving from and going to. All flights try to be no more than a 2-3 hours from land in case of an emergency.

      If you are on a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney and something goes wrong than you are screwed!!

    • @kingofallwhites
      @kingofallwhites 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jeff Hietala Not necessarily. Flights over water are always within 2-3 hours of land. Even over the Pacific there are islands that are along routes for an emergency. Obviously it's not ideal but planes making trips like that have multiple backups.

      Derek Wall yeah it's called great circle route and also the upper winds are lighter over polar regions

      interestingly, Anchorage is not much further from Frankfurt, than say, Miami would be. Just look at a globe, then you'll understand. The map projection we use really contorts distances

      At the altitude, there's virtually no difference in temperature between the North Pole and the equator. Also, planes are able to generate heat from the engines etc.

  • @fadethetrade

    I was told only jets with 4 engines are allowed to veer off from civilization(north pole or middle of oceans must have 4 engines) What point in your video is the north pole?

    The 767s are not that old. They are still in production. So condor may replace older 767s with NEW 767s.

    the flight sucked... 10u30 minutes, with a very short space for your leggs... no individual screens except in bussinessclass. But Alaska itself was amazing!!! it is almost 1 year ago and still thinking every day on the magnificent journey!
