None of the other choices were distinctively better. Plus he is probably the best player available.

I think we need to take it easy with the Langon defense. No one is saying we don't want him here or that he should be fired. We just didn't love his first few moves. We're entitled to our opinions as fans. At the end of the day all that matters is winning so if they improve no one will care. As a former "trust in troy" guy this podcast helped me break out of that years ago. How about we just judge each move individually and and we'll start making judgements on the overall job he's doing until after at least 1 season.

Facts everybody really underplays how these players were set up for failure with Monty. Especially Ivey. The 14 wins was a coaching issue not the talent of the players. I watch Casey purposely tank games with a lesser team than the one last year. Monty cost Detroit about 7-10 games this year. So I totally agree.

Then he followed it up with saying not signing Fonteccio would be bad asset management by describing all the overlapping characteristics of Fonteccio and Grimes (A guy who gets you 15 pts a game, 38% from 3, defend a couple positions). The same reasons he gives for signing Fonteccio are all the reasons I have heard fans criticize the trade of Grimes. How does this guy know Grimes didn't want to be here in Detroit? I have not heard that reported anywhere, but maybe I missed that. If that is true and Grimes told Langdon he didn't want to play in Detroit or the medical staff saw health red flags, then I would have less of an issue with him being sent out. I like Langdon as President and I'm excited to see what he can do. I like the Holland and Klinkman draft picks. I like taking on a floor spacing vet for draft capital, but I don't like losing 1 of our only 2 3&D wings in the current 8/9 man rotation as the roster currently stands.
