That finale is still fresh to this day, weeks later in general, Skywalker from Anakin to Luke are my favorite characters since watching the OT/Pt and so on! That filter in the beginning though is cinematic, a work of art.

All of the jedi believed the "prophecy to bring balance to the force" meant ending the sith, however the force does not take sides. I believe they misinterpreted the prophecy and it was meant to end the "dominance" the jedi have had since the high republic, and bring balance. As he did again in the 6th movie when Palpatine was about to disrupt the balance again when he tried to end Luke, the last remaining jedi at that time.

While the films never explicitly confirm it, it is canon that Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious unintentionally created Anakin by manipulating the Force in an experiment to create life. On that note, I think Palpatine was the one giving Anakin the visions of Padme's death as to exploit his fear and desperation to gain his absolute obedience.
