I've always loved spiders. I've had 2 tarantulas and one jumping spider. I don't like cockroaches, but I hope someone in the world loves them as much as I love spiders.
I used to be deathly afraid of spiders until I faced my fear by letting a tarantula crawl on my arm and honestly they are cute even though they are gigantic

When I got to my first duty station back in 2012 I was lonely, scared, and worried about my future. The first night in my barracks room I found a little jumping spider that would hang out by my window. It became my little friend. It knew that if I opened the window to let it out that I wouldn't close the window until it came back in. When I would come home from work my little buddy would be waiting by the window for me. It never let me hold it or anything, but we would kind of sit and stare at each other and it was good vibes. I miss that little fella.

@@CommanderM117 It might be, but it's fascinating to see that there were cases where jumping spiders actually ran away to humans to protect them from predators like birds. I don't know if they'd be as friendly if they were bigger, but they're definitely some of the most intelligent creatures on earth, especially compared to other spiders.
Jumping spiders are mainly the only kind of spider that I like, they're diff than other kinds of spiders and apparently will also sometimes kill/eat other spiders I think i read before xD.

I have two male regal jumping spiders as pets, they are super cute too I used to be afraid of all spiders. Found them both inside of my house and got bug terrariums for them. Jumping spiders eyes face forward and give them a cute expression, they're really cute when they make eye contact and wiggle their mandibles

And they use them as their ears and nose picking up changes around them.
I used to have a jumping spider living behind my side view mirror in my van talk about best friends I'd always check for him then one day he came out to say hi and then mama came out and I turned my mirror and there was a whole nest coolest pets I ever had so smart and sweet !

I remember when I was coming home from my walk a jumping spider jumped on my shoulder I didn’t know if he wanted a ride so I gave him a ride and I walked it all the way to my house but I sat it down as soon as I got to the house and the next morning i was going for my walk again and it jumped on my shoulder and it’s so adorable too so now I have a walking buddy with me

You can identify if jumping spiders are male or female depending on their size and color. Females are dull in color and a lot bigger than the males. Males are a lot smaller with very bright coloring, peacock jumping spider males in particular have "plumage" that they can lift up over their back like a peacock does. Hence the name.
I don't want to ruin the joke, because it is funny, but the spider in the video is female and not male.

Never kill jumping spiders in your house, they can't hurt you and take care of pests for you, they are the best spiders.
I wish there were larger ones in East Tennessee. In Rockford, IL, we had an extended family of them who lived in our back stairs to outside, pinky tip sized, but where I am now, I've only seen a couple, and they are no larger than perhaps the tip of a pen plunger, very easy to miss.

But, the wife was so OCD, she swept and mopped constantly and her pest control sprayed the inside and outside of her house every 3 mos.
My gram said they should stop spraying for a cycle or two, and try not to destroy webs or tiny indoor spiders. Within 6 mos. no more fleas.
Sadly I hardly get any jumpers in my home. Happily I DO get lots of wolf spiders! 😍 I like to coax them into a paper cup & add a tiny bit of water & watch them take a loooooong drink ☺. They're always very thirsty. Then if it's not freezing out I release them outside 💕

태선우TaeSunWoo Go ahead and love the jumpers. They rarely bite and when they do you don’t even notice it. Maybe a tiny itchy bump that goes away in a few minutes. Been playing with these since I was a kid. I’m 43 now and still do. So it’s ok. You can love it. 😊
