I'm new to guitar. A couple of months ago I bought a cheap Yamaha Pacifica (HSS) and a Vox Mini Super Beetle. I love Queen and the sound of Brian. I grew up listening to Queen. My parents like it (fotrunately), so although me and my brothers brought Queen to the house, they used to play it in the car when we travelled to the coast in the summer. So for me, Queen brings so many beautifuk memories. But getting back to my new delight of learning guitar, I cranked up the gain (usually I like clean tones, so my gain stays at 3) but when I cranked up the treble it's the first time I really love the tone out of my amp. I'm 45 and still Brian May brings joy to my life. I will be rocking my house in the coming days. Best regards to all from Argentina!
One of May's techniques is a bit different than most. A lot of players do it backwards, in my opinion. Leaving the guitar volume maxed out. Crank the amp up. A good amp wont go crappy unless you add a lot of gain in the pre. Now, that volume knob on your guitar, is on the guitar for a reason, and not just to mute. you can play a lot of stuff without going much past halfway and you'll push your amp and get more frequency response. And a lif feedback lingering adds sustain to an electric guitar. It can be a beast but its tameable.

Brian...always happy to hear your YT videos ! You do so much sharing your musical genius with your fans, how devoted you are to us. Not many other musicians do that. @@Matthew_Eitzman It’s called natural talent. If I practiced 100 times more I still wouldn’t reach that level. And there wouldn’t be enough time anyway.
Tony, stop making excuses and play until your fingertips are callused and are discolored from the metal in the strings becoming embedded in the flesh. I don’t know how old you are, but if you don’t have painful, crippling arthritis from playing for 47 years like I have at 57, you haven’t paid enough dues playing the guitar to even comment on Brian May’s choice of guitar picks or anything about him. This signature amp hoopla will pass. Soon, you can pick one of these up on E-Bay or Reverb for $200.
@@tonypap1 There sure is an innate talent. But there are also tens of years of practising seven to ten hours a day before achieving the mastery you hear on the records. Anyway, nobody expects from you that you become "Brain May 2". Take what you can from his playing and have a lot of fun without comparing two players that have nothing in common but an instrument :) For example, you can work out songs like "The show must go on" or the highly beautiful "Love of my life", that are not for beginners but accessible to intermediate players. Look for GuitarLessons365Song or GuitarZero2Hero, who teach this particular song, both kind and good teachers. Enjoy!
Havent learnt to play the guitar but hearing this amazing sound and watching Sir Brian play makes me want all this clever kit and a guitar too even if it means i make a jumble of red special noise that isnt exactly classed as music 😊
The MV50 AC on which this appears to be based are versatile units. I already have one plus about eight excellent external treble boosters so I'll pass on this occasion. 👍🏻😀
I totally agree with telebender's comment, Sir Brian is indeed a class act for mentioning Rory as a big influence in this guitar skills. Its so sad that we lost Rory at such a young age, I never got to see him and I'll regret that until I die.
Yes. Simple. And beyond amazing. A few pedals and that's it. Sure we all want a lot of sounds but I think especially today it just gets a little mind numbing with everything that's out there.
Brian is a Great of guitar, so musical. His comments about Rory are true to me, I don't think a lot of people realise that Blues and Blues Rock at an advanced level is tortuous style to play, probably the hardest physically on the hands.Rory did it with great panache and style. The new Brian May Vox amp sounds awesome
This is just an instantly "I JUST MUST HAVE ONE OF THESE" things.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍 I already have 3 types Amplug: the Satriani, the AC30, and the Bass. All are simply incredible and incredibly simple... So adding the BM is a no-Brianer (sorry Bri! 🤣👍) But that gorgeous red amp looks great as well as sounding glorious - definitely on the hunt for thát as well.
I started playing the piano when I was 5. After listening to Brian and Queen, I started playing electric guitar (I was 11), never played piano again; I've always had a deep passion for Brian's sound. I really loved these new Vox gear, they are great. I only have the Red Special Pedal from Digitech. When I want to sound like Brian, I use a vox pedalboard that emulates the AC30 or the Digitech pedal. Maybe I'll buy the MV 50, although taxes in Brazil make the device arrive here at a stratospheric price. PS - I'll write as soon as I can about Brian's PhD thesis...
Looking at Brian’s guitar and knowing the story about his Dad who must of been a genius himself because he along with Brian created a master piece without any previous knowledge of guitar building. Mind blowing so much so I wonder how he never built an amplifier as well 😂😂 or May be he did.
What a delight it is to see Sir Brian and to hear him play.. Whilst I am myself only a 2nd study gtr player I can certainly attest to the legendary quality of Vox products. When I was young I used to do little talent contests in the North West of England, I would play violin and my friend would sing. As he was a semi pro club singer and a talented and handsome guy we would always (if the resident gear worked, we took nothing but my fiddle with us) win, so it was an almost guaranteed beer money source. One night a Vox AC30 was offered me to play through. I just had a cheap passive contact transducer bug on acoustic but LORDY LORD! What a sound. This particular night not only did we bag the prize money but they had a whip round. We actually ended up with something approaching a fee! So thank you so much Vox for that super marvellous sound, I wonder what my SV200 would sound like though a Vyper or whatever the hybrid modern amps are called, and thank you Sir Brian for the WONDERFUL music! ❤️🎶🌟👍
Love that Sir Brian always gives Rory his due. What an absolute class act.

@@mattmorris2867 it's ok. You don't have to read it. Older gents usually write longer messages. I'm starting to do that too since my age is creeping up. He's a big fan. It's OK.
The ' must have ' for all guitar players out there who want to be anywhere near as good as you someday- and it also looks very nice ❣ I send you all my love Brian- God bless you ❣ ❤🌈❤
Hug from Nica 🌼

No words to say, just absolute genius Brian May !❤❤❤❤
Give me the amp, the guitar and Brians hands and musical mindset, and only THEN will I sound like Brian May.... Great stuff Brian.
If I could play even a tenth as good as Brian May I’d be all over this 🤩
Keep practising, and enjoy yourself ;-)
Practice ten times more than he did.
Take what you can from his playing and have a lot of fun without comparing two players that have nothing in common but an instrument :)
For example, you can work out songs like "The show must go on" or the highly beautiful "Love of my life", that are not for beginners but accessible to intermediate players. Look for GuitarLessons365Song or GuitarZero2Hero, who teach this particular song, both kind and good teachers.
Enjoy!
I bought mine. And im sending it back as its faulty!
I'm definitely into the amplug!
Even the first generation amplugs are great. The AC30 sounds incredible good
Thanks Sir Brian May, It looks so sweet. Sold! I would take it on the road no problem. Be Safe!
Havent learnt to play the guitar but hearing this amazing sound and watching Sir Brian play makes me want all this clever kit and a guitar too even if it means i make a jumble of red special noise that isnt exactly classed as music 😊
Bri, I love you baby! Hope to see you soon in Europe Tour! Love and kisses, Nica 💖💖💖💖
Brian may guitar + Treblebooster + deacy amp + vox AC 13 ❤❤❤❤ orchestral tone
Brilliant Brian...love it
Awesome Brian💪🎸
Eres una gran persona y un gran músico Brian...que bien tenerte aqui❤
The MV50 AC on which this appears to be based are versatile units. I already have one plus about eight excellent external treble boosters so I'll pass on this occasion. 👍🏻😀
Shut up and take my Money 💰💰💰
I‘m gonna get this no matter the cost 😂
hi Brian I went proud galleries on 31 March 2023 it was fantastic awesome photos love it great experience god bless you keep rocking love and respect
Lovely Brian May!!
Top man! Always giving Rory credit!
Love this!!!!
Sounds epic, I think I'll save up for it!
I totally agree with telebender's comment, Sir Brian is indeed a class act for mentioning Rory as a big influence in this guitar skills. Its so sad that we lost Rory at such a young age, I never got to see him and I'll regret that until I die.
Opening bars to 'It's Late' - my favourite Queen song 👍👍
Unique sound, unique style, sir Brian
Bless you Sir Brian❤😍🤟
Yes. Simple. And beyond amazing. A few pedals and that's it. Sure we all want a lot of sounds but I think especially today it just gets a little mind numbing with everything that's out there.
Fab as always Brian!x
Amazing when he plays "It's Late"
HERMOSO SIR BRIAN MAY 😘😘🎸🎸🎸👑🇦🇷
Brian is a Great of guitar, so musical. His comments about Rory are true to me, I don't think a lot of people realise that Blues and Blues Rock at an advanced level is tortuous style to play, probably the hardest physically on the hands.Rory did it with great panache and style. The new Brian May Vox amp sounds awesome
That guy is just the best!
Sounds amazing!
I,'m gonna love Brian May mini (practice) amp !
This chorus sound is amaizing
This is just an instantly "I JUST MUST HAVE ONE OF THESE" things.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
I already have 3 types Amplug: the Satriani, the AC30, and the Bass. All are simply incredible and incredibly simple... So adding the BM is a no-Brianer (sorry Bri! 🤣👍)
But that gorgeous red amp looks great as well as sounding glorious - definitely on the hunt for thát as well.
Both sound pretty good really.
Bless him. This is great. Can't wait for the Randy Rhoads pedal this year.
Looking at Brian’s guitar and knowing the story about his Dad who must of been a genius himself because he along with Brian created a master piece without any previous knowledge of guitar building. Mind blowing so much so I wonder how he never built an amplifier as well 😂😂 or May be he did.
"May be"😄😄😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍
What a delight it is to see Sir Brian and to hear him play.. ❤️🎶🌟👍
