I'm really happy to see POE level stuff for Albion, hope more people appreciates it. Good job mate really enjoyed it. Expect for the part where you lied at the begining claiming video wouldnt be fun :)
im glad you enjoyed^^ haha it's a very technical video with math and stuff. i tried to give it some sauce because it's dry information, but i guess it worked!
a lot of these mechanics are either forgotten or not talked about, but knowing them helps you make better decisions overall. glad you got something from it^^
Since slows have 10s dr duration does this mean that frost staves q3 can get max cc reduction by itself? Since q3 has 3 seconds you can get 3-4 qs in that 10 seconds
yes. this is why SBI made changes last year to the way CC diminishing returns works for some of the CC types. They stated that they reduced certain ones from 10 seconds down to 5 because they wanted to avoid some low cooldown Es from reducing themselves. I assume they were talking about things like 1h hammer with full CD reduction build.
thank you! I am working on more videos, it just takes me some time to get them out, but I'm working on a solution to bring content in between the release of these videos as well^^
For the protection, if you right the function you will see that puting everything in the protection and have 100 you will have 50/100 dommage reduction but if you have a 40 protection you will take 8% less dommage that if the fonction was a straight line.
if I understand correctly, you're saying that the function is NOT a straight line. If that's what you're saying, yes you're right. the resistance function is meant to apply diminishing returns the higher the resistance you go.
id love it so they would make it so you can only be healed by alliance/guild/party members and enable/ disabled them in yz the amount of t4 healers in plate in faction is nuts lol makes it more like black zone where u can only get healed by alliance/guild/party members gotta love going from 250+ heals per tick to 161 just to get healed by them for 30 so annoying sometimes lol
ty a lot 2 days ago i found the def formula alone xD now u send it ty now i know i was correct.. and about aoe escalation its the most op thing in the game.. also def % is just a trash..
well atleast you get to confirm the defense formula XD I wouldn't say def v players is trash, it's very useful, but it's not as strong as people think it is. Sometimes going for CD reduction or HP is better than defense v players, but not always.
@@aouniversity yeah i see but.. if u are a tank like a CC tank the aoe escalation with the % of cc duration in the set buff looks better.. i want to know all habilits who have the aoe escalation do u know it? i tried to find in forum etc.. but i just found some of they..
@@icarodias9268 i agree, the CC duration passive for tanks is better than defense v players, but not all of them. remember, CC duration passive works for % of time, not a set time. this means that high CC duration skills benefit more from CC duration passive than skills with low CC duration. for aoe escalation, all skills that have aoe will have aoe escalation. if they don't, it's a bug.
I intend on making content that can be helpful for different styles of gameplay. With this in mind, my experience with the game is mostly in ZvZ, so many of my videos will be either exclusively for ZvZ or leaning towards ZvZ. So the answer is no, not exclusively ZvZ, but heavily biased towards it, yes.
@@thegodssin i dont have anything like that planned at the moment. i will say though that a lot of the concepts that are applied to zvz can also be applied to other scales, just with a different focus. so long as you learn and understand the mechanics, you can use that information to improve in any aspect of the game.
@@thegodssin yea the zvz guide videos are actually recordings of twitch streams, so they're long, but they have really good info if you can get through em lol
@@aknsanl4223 the reason it matters is because it is affected by diminishing returns. defense v players reduces the amount of dmg you would take by the % specified instead of reducing the dmg from the whole. if it reduced damage directly from the source like resistances does, defense v players would be very strong, but it doesn't, so it's not as powerful as a lot of people think. i'll give you this simple example - if you have high resistances, the amount of dmg you're mitigating with defense v players is lower than the amount you would mitigate with low resistances. therefore, if you have high resistances, you may benefit from more HP or better CD reduction on an off-hand or passive than defense v players.
@@aouniversity Think about it this way: If defense Vs players was applied before resistances, that would make resistances worse in your model. If the initial attack is reduced from 1000 to 870, then that means that resistances will reduce less damage. But that doesn't make sense! Why would resistances suddenly be worse just because there is a reduction in front of it? Wait, even simpler, let's do the calculation. 1000 incoming damage, 50% resistance, 20% defense against players. If resistance comes first: 1000*0.5=500 after resist 500*0.8=400 after defense If defense comes first: 1000*0.8=800 after defense 800*0.5=400 after resist You can see, it doesn't matter which stat is applied first. Still, it's a great video and I learned some things even as a veteran of the game :) I'll use it to point my guildies if they have questions about these obscure mechanics
@nschwerte8324 In both your examples one applies AFTER another, that's like saying a*b = b*a. The point in the video is that it's worse because whichever one comes first, the other gets diminishing returns. IF this wasn't the case, it would be: 1000*0.5 => 500 (500 dmg reduction) 1000*0.8 => 800 (200 dmg reduction) and then they would be applies additively, so: 1000-(500+200) = 300 BUT as it is right now in the game, they are applied multiplicatively; so however you calculate it, one of them gets diminishing returns on the total reduction. (1000*0.8)*0.5 = (1000*0.5)*0.8
