The website I use the most is lectionarypage.net.

Thanks, that’s another good source. If other people have their favorites perhaps they can share them here as well.

Is this lectionary the same as the one found in the Greek manuscripts of lectionary?

There are numerous lectionaries in the church’s tradition. They developed over time and over different regions but with certain shared readings and goals.

Ben, take a look at my first video on the lectionary - I discuss some of the history and development of the lectionaries in that video.

@@TheCaffeinatedBible, great channel! Would you be so kind as to provide a link to this "first video"? I've just looked through all your thumbnails on TH-cam and couldn't find it. Also, as Oriental Orthodox, I'm interested in the origins of the lectionary and have found precious few books on that subject. From what I can see on the Amazon preview for Reading the Bible with Giants there is no research on the lectionary included there.

Why are the stories of women left out of the Lectionary?

    • @TheCaffeinatedBible

The main academic building at Fuller Theological Seminary was built in the late 1950s. At that time, only men taught there and were students. As a result, Payton Hall (built in 1953) did not have any women's rooms. Fast forward to today, the portions of the building had to be remodeled so that it also had women's rooms.
I think the same process happened with the formation of the lectionary in this century. The committees that selected the texts (especially at the 2nd Vatican Council) were men. And I don't think they either knew what to do with stories about women in the Bible or just did not feel they were as important.
Hopefully, the next time the lectionaries are revised, more of the biblical accounts of women will be included.

@@TheCaffeinatedBible Thank you. I certainly hope this changes. There are so many fascinating stories of the women of the Bible!
