this video is gold... for the life of me I could NOT find a vid on TH-cam about quantizing/warping, specifically in Ableton for guitars. Thanks so much dude, this was great, and you're a great teacher

Oh man, that’s AWESOME to hear! Your comment comes at the perfect time too. If you notice, on the channel I pivoted to doing content on AI Image/video (I still cover some music stuff, generally related to AI as how a musician can use it)- anyhow, just this morning I was thinking about delisting the old Ableton/Guitar stuff. Man, I’m glad I didn’t.
Literally: your comment just kept this video up! Thank you, and super happy you found it helpful!

@@TheoreticallyMediahaha wow, now I’m glad I commented! Please don’t remove the old vids, I’m sure lots of people still use them to help them troubleshoot stuff! Also, I’m super interested to see how AI can affect music production. I’ve already been experimenting with the Ozone 11 plugin from Izotope for mastering which has an AI analyze and master your song. It’s not perfect, you still need to tweak the results it gives you, but super useful/interesting nonetheless.
Thanks again for the useful vids btw!

Phew, glad it's still here! The quantizing/warping/resampling bits are good, answers I couldn't easily find elsewhere.

Here from reddit, thanks for the informative videos! I watched the previous video and just finished this one. Definitely gained more clarity!

That's excellent to hear! And I'm glad this one helped! For some reason (probably my fault) the Arrangement video doesn't seem to get as many views as the Session one, which is kind of a shame, since Arrangement is obviously where everything actually comes together!
Anyhow, again, really happy to hear both of these were helpful! I think you've finally given me the confidence to start tackling the live looping tutorial! There's so much to cover there, I've been strangely intimated by it!

Another good video! I wasn't aware of Quantizing at all. Thanks.

That’s awesome! And quantizing is gonna come in really handy when we get to drums!!

Excellent to hear! This is kind of an older video, but I’m always really happy to know that folks are still getting value from
      It!

Thanks a ton for this. This software is not user friendly for a newb, and this video helps tremendously. Nice guitar solo btw.. it sounded like a nod to Dickey Bettes from Allman Brothers. 👍👍

There is kind of a steep learning curve, but once you’ve got it, you’ll be sailing in no time!
And hey, thanks! That Allman Pentatonic/Mixo thing is my jam. Kind of my natural state. One of my earliest musical (listening) memories is hearing Jessica as a kid. It stuck in there HARD. Haha, no complaints though!

@@TheoreticallyMedia I recognized that influence right away.. I always loved that mixo flavor as well.👍

Tim I'm a guitarist who just got a recording setup and have to learn Ableton from the ground up - You're a lifesaver with this stuff.
When I resample a couple of tracks, if I have two tracks panned left and right to add depth to it does it keep the stereo balance that I originally set up in my recording?

  • @christiandavis8291

Great video. I am wondering if my style of tracking works with Ableton. I set locators within a range, and record multiple takes until I get it right. In the end I have a comp stack with multiple takes. To my knowledge, session view does not support comps. The second issue with recording in session view is that often, the take is clipped on the 1 unless you time it perfectly. Are these issues resolvable in Ableton? I want to be sure before I switch over from Logic.

Oh, thank YOU! I'm glad you found the arrangement video! The "Part 1" that goes over Session mode seems to be the one that people gravitate to the most, but I think Arrangement is where the real juice in Ableton is!
