I love how Lucifer isn't trying to shine in this. He's focused on melding well with Rory's vocals. It's such a beautiful scene. I was bawling my eyes out in this.
I love how much this song says about Lucifer's character progression. He steps back and follows Rory's lead, letting her shine. Can you imagine season 1 Lucifer singing backup to ANYONE?
YES YES THIS ONE'S EMOTIONAL ONE, THERE'S ANOTHER DUET FOR MAZE (actually she's Lilith at that time) AND LUCIFER IN SEASON 5 EPISODE 4, they sang "Someone to watch over me" their duet is just ❤️
The episode this was in was so powerful and ending it with this was so beautiful! Definitely one of my favourite episodes and songs from the show overall.
You should react to the song right at the beginning of season 4 episode 1 called ‘Creep’ Tom (Lucifer) said it was his favourite song to sing and it’s my personal favourite!
Thank you so much for putting the time and love into some epic Lucifer classics. Tom Ellis(aka Lucifer) has such a beautiful voice, so much so that once the show’s creators heard him sing, they inserted him performing on the show into it as that was not originally part of the script. Lucifer would not be nearly as awesome without his brilliant musical and vocal performances.
This is the official list of cover songs/performances by Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and a couple of the other characters from earlier seasons... Season 1: Sinnerman - Lucifer (1x06) Season 2: All along the watchtower - Lucifer (2x01) Eternal Flame + Crime solving Devil - Lucifer (2x14) Season 3: Fever - Candy (Lindsey Gort) (3x06) Luck be a lady - Lucifer (3x06) i will survive - Lucifer & Axara (Skye Townsend) (3x17) Noreg - Axara (3x17) Season 4: Creep - Lucifer (4x01) Season 5A: I wanna be evil - Maze/Lilith (Lesley Ann-Brandt) (5x04) Someone to watch over me - Lucifer & Maze/Lilith (5x04)
Please do the video on “Creep”, “All along the Watchtower”, “Sinnerman”, “ Anything you want you got it”, definitely “Someone or watch over me” PLEASE there are so many BEAUTIFUL songs in Lucifer
It's great that you've gone back and started watching Lucifer from the beginning. It's a great series, and the music (and in later seasons, dancing) is such an important part of the show. The music, even the background music in each episode and the music they play transitioning from one scene to another, is carefully chosen to fit whatever is happening in terms of story. It's such a surprising show to many people who stumble upon it, because with its name, they weren't expecting the humor or the music. As for this song, I love the duet, and it's one of my favorites from the series.
Your reactions are incomparable, and therefore, since you started watching Lucifer, you can make reactions to episodes and seasons in the future. And Tom sang at least one song every season. Amazing!
Tom Ellis, and Brianna Hildebrand, did a breathtakeningly beautiful job with their duet and cover version of this timeless classic track Simon and Garfunkle's, Bridge Over Troubled Water's, Kudos to them both for their pretty much perfect performance of trhis track, :-) .
I loved this cover. I was FLOORED to find out Brianna could sing like that, and their duet was pure magic. I really hope you enjoy the show, it's quite a ride. And weirdly I feel like each season it got stronger and just had even more confident footing. If you didn't know, Season 6 (that this is from) was such a bonus - it was supposed to end at 5 and literally as they're shooting the last episodes Netflix reconsidered and asked if they wanted another season. So it was technically cancelled TWICE (by Fox after season 3 was the first time) and came back for more. Talk about a hell of an encore...
Thanks for reviewing this song. This piece of the story has special significance between the two characters, as you will see once you get to this point. NO SPOILERS!!
I love the episode of him and the Priest jamming out on the piano and thouroughly enjoying themselves. The Priest and The Devil sat at piano and played. God l loved all the Lucifer moments when he sang and played. Ellis did such a tremendous job in the roll.
i think a lot of credit should also go to Valerie Morehouse...she is the Vocal Coach who is consulted for (i think) all singing scenes on Lucifer. I know that she consulted with Tom Ellis and Lesley Ann-Brandt for their parts. it's a pity that the vocal coaches don't get recognition from the general public for their support!
This song was used to allow them to connect through a mutual interest, music. Since they couldnt quite manage it with talking. Lucifer kinda sings more supportively, allowing Rory, his daughter, to have a more active, leading role. Pretty touching stuff
This duet is so beautifully sung by both of them. Having seen all of the final season, I can safely say I didn’t think Wicket Game would be bested as my favourite song performed on the show, but this song/scene knocked it out of the park! Not just musically, but emotionally too. I can’t wait for you to catch up and be able to understand the emotional ties within the scene (which I won’t spoil).
Yesss this is the one I suggested the other day im so happy you are reacting to it. I just think both of their voices sounded so amazing. It worked so well together ❤
You should do the duet "it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday," but the scene the song is in has MAJOR spoilers, especially if you're watching the show as well. If that doesn't bother you, I would love a reaction to that. I also recommend "Someone to watch over me" and "creep"
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and I’ll definitely watch more. I’m very into this show and I find this song constantly in my head because of this rendition. I think it’s hilarious that they didn’t know Tom Ellis could sing until a karaoke night and then they added it into the show
I hope you watch the whole series. It’s amazing, and some of the songs you’ve reviewed have a lot more impact with the rest of the show behind them. Particularly this song.
literally saw the whole last season today, so I so that part a few hours ago and fell in love with it. It is definitely the best song in the show and I´m so happy you reacted to it :)
This scene was a perfectly poignant moment in the series. The magic of the emitions in this scene made this so perfect. Even if they weren't a perfect duet it would still be a perfect duet.
Ohh yep I've teary eyes. I finished the final season the second day of its release. I'm so glad you're watching it in your spare time. It's fantastic. ❤️
This was so beautiful and it'll be great when you catch ALL the way up because so much happens and then you'll understand Lucifer, Chloe, Amenadiel, Dan, and everybody.
Omg I love this song! This episode made me so angry and sad I literally cried so many times 😂 but this song brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to it. I love the original song as well as a lot of over covers but this is by far my favourite
Yes I totally agree, NO SPOILERS!! This is one I will not explain what’s happening. Just appreciate the beautiful song as it is. It’ll mean so much more when you get to this point!! You’ll thank us!!
I'm digging this song on repeat since release. I'm a Lucifer fanfiction writer and have this song stuck in my head since the last 10 days, using it to get in touchy-feely-mood for scenes. I was totally blown by Brianna Hilfebrand's performence here (Ellis is of course fantastic as well. He's quite talented in general and with the help of his vocal coach he's getting better ever since). But Brianna's acting and singing really did a number on me.
@@katiebeevers1930 it's her. Maybe she is warning about not to spoil who is her character, because I already saw in the comments some people are spoiling at that
Love your reactions on the different performances of this fantastic series. I recommend you to react the rest of the performances since the first season because they are excelent!! For example, one of my favorite is Tom Ellis singing Creep by Radiohead.
Also lets not spoil anything as she said that she is only on season 1 so she has a lot to get through before she gets to season 6 so lets not spoil anything major that happens so that she won't have to be expecting it and it will be a total surprise just like it was for us when we watched Lucifer. P.S. Lucifer is the best show ever and I am really going to miss it but at least now I can watch it all over again and again.
The girl is Lucifer and Chloe's daughter from the future come back to find out what happened to make him leave Chloe to raise her on her own. It's a touching and beautiful moment in the episode.
Ya know what? I'm impressed by the comments not spoiling anything. Normally I don't abide by spoilers, because I feel that if something has to be a surprise to be fully enjoyed, then it's not actually very good to begin with. Much like how, if you have to be drunk or high to have as much fun, then you're not actually having fun in the first place. . But really, kudos for everyone not blowing the season for her...or any of the others.
I don't know if anyone else has talked about it yet, but there was intent in several musical performances throughout this series. First off, when Neil Gaiman wrote the character in the books he told the artist "Make him look like David Bowie. If you you don't, redo it". And during casting, They were only looking for their perfect lucifer. They cast Tom Ellis. They knew that they wanted the self-absorbed entity to perform at his piano in the middle of LUX. They assumed they would have to hired a singer to dub in... But in a pre-production party they went to a karaoke bar and heard ellis sing... The rest is Lucifer
When you watch the episode and get the context of what's happening in the background, it makes the song all the more heart breaking, but I knew you'd like this one 😂 😂
Just liked and subscribed, came across you by accident really, but doing a great job, i'll check out the karaoke club later. Jiust f.y.i Lucifer is the best show on the telly, nuff said.

I love how Lucifer isn't trying to shine in this. He's focused on melding well with Rory's vocals. It's such a beautiful scene. I was bawling my eyes out in this.
Now that the series is over, I can say this is my favorite musical number they've done. I've cried too many darn tears over it and the finale.
Same
This was the perfect duet for the two of them
I hope they recorded a full song version. I have seen it mentioned that it might get released -- like they did to the Musical episode songs.
This is really good but sinnerman is up there to
I think my favourite was Maze singing Wonderwall or Lucifer singing Creep.
I love how much this song says about Lucifer's character progression. He steps back and follows Rory's lead, letting her shine. Can you imagine season 1 Lucifer singing backup to ANYONE?
i just love how Rory (Brianna Hildebrand) sings in this. It's beautiful and I love ittt.
Agreed
YES YES THIS ONE'S EMOTIONAL ONE, THERE'S ANOTHER DUET FOR MAZE (actually she's Lilith at that time) AND LUCIFER IN SEASON 5 EPISODE 4, they sang "Someone to watch over me" their duet is just ❤️

this cover is probably one of my favourite songs from the entire six seasons of lucifer - it literally makes me cry
Their voices are really blending, it's just Wauw !!!
When you finish the series you will understand ever everything looking back on this. Such a great show and will remain my #1 favorite show of all time
