We here in Nepal too heard about Lucknow Bidroha in history class. This is how Rana Prime Minister Jung Bahadur Rana along with brave Gorkhali soldiers helped British to suppressed Lucknow Bidroha. After they got victory , it was pay back time so the soldiers looted the palaces there and returned back to Nepal.
Due to this heroic support from Nepal, British returned back four districts Banke, Bardiya,Kailali,Kanchanpur to Nepal which was seized according to Sugauli treaty by Britsh.
Suppressing the weaker sections of the society, so called brave Gurkha have been serving the masters.

Ma'am is so vociferously advocating that everything is the result of patriarchy, glossing over the fact that Queen Victoria ruled over India from 1857-1901, a sizeable chunk of the British colonialism. Where was the feminist justice when India was pillaged during her reign? Also, she quickly exalts women as the ones who were involved in the back-channel talks during Partition. Really? There's no denying that women played a pivotal role during the independence, but obliterating the role of all others involved is just plain misleading. I'm not contending the horrors of war that women and children, but this is just so incorrect.

There is no one by the name of General Hudson around the time 1857-58 but yes there is one William Stephen Raikes Hodson who shot Bahadur Shah Zafar's sons and grandson. I hope you will get someone who is more knowledgeble next time.
