Thanks Chuck. I am interested in your experience with this camera. I hav a G9 and like to see what other photographers are doing with this camera. It will be interesting to see how it is acceptable to a Leica camera owner like you. I have just subscribed to you.

Thank you so much Chris. Appreciate it. At this point and time, I can say with certainty that the G9 has thus far met my expectations as a good G.P./car camera. Although, I'm still crashing, burning, and learning about what I can do with it.

It's funny...I'm 68 and just purchased the Panasonic G9 three weeks ago. We are in sync! That 9mm is going to be my next purchase. The 4k 60fps crops a bit, so the 9mm will make up for the loss.

Thank you. The G9 is a remarkable little camera and for sure meets my demands. I've yet used the 9mm, but it's in standby mode when I'm ready. Have fun with photographing with it.

The G9 is great, I'm waiting for the S5 II to come out later this month, its not much heavier than the G9 and is full frame... And will work with your SL lenses! Take care Chuck!

Hi, Forgotten Americana, I was reviewing and considering the S5; however, though body weight could be arguably comparable to each other, it's really the glass that adds the weight to the gear. So, my Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm lens that I use on my SL2-S weighs in at 1.9 lbs and the G9 with lens weighs in at 1.72 lbs. Having said that, we are already having talks on doing another aggressive day hike in the Grand Canyon in October and I am considering doing a solo rim to rim, 5 days/4 nights backpacking trip in the summer. Speaking for myself, I need to shed my equipment weight to the bare bone minimum, and I got to shed my old man weight for serious hiking trim.

I have a Pentax K1000, in fact I have several Pentax/Honeywell film cameras that I have used for over 40 years. Sorry, but film photography is not that great... especially considering the cost of film and processing these days.

Thank you. Film photography is a bit expensive for sure. However, I do find it a great balance when mixing it up with digital photography.

Hey ZEDU657, thank you. Talked with friends at work today, bouncing around ideas, and we're already gearing it up for the Grand Canyon. I think this camera will fit the bill. Adios.

Impressive quality Jpeg taken at 12800 ISO. I don't go past 3200 with mine :) I suppose I have to give that IA+ mode a chance.
