I have installed 500 Ikea kitchens. I am impressed by many of your details. Love the way you do your fillers and vent boxes. Keep posting please.... I want to "borrow" more of your ideas LOL
They do! My mum has them and they look beautiful. I’m planning on building later this year and I will be opting to get ikea kitchen and prob put them in the laundry (although any warranty is void in Landry and bathroom). Easy to put together. I put the carcasses and drawers together and got the builder to install them. Saved money.
That's awesome! Here is a video I made on assembling an IKEA corner cabinet: th-cam.com/video/sabTm4F81BQ/w-d-xo.html It's pretty much the same technique with all of the IKEA cabinets. To make sure your cabinets are perfect you must(!) use what's called the "Framing Square" tool, available at any US hardware store, literally under $20. Wish you all the best!
Nice detail with the lighting and adding channels for the wires to the cover panel. Would be great to see a video just detailing lighting and cable management.
Your attention to detail is incredible! I've been putting together a basement bar, bathroom, and fireplace built ins using sektion cabinets and your videos have been giving me the strategy to complete. What size/ type of brad nails and screws do you use to attach together and for filer panels? A video just on various filer panel installs would be helpful. Love the videos!
Thank you! For nails I use Dewalt Deco trim 1in Panels 1.1/4in These are the screws I use: www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-8-2-1-2-in-Phillips-Bugle-Head-Coarse-Thread-Gold-Screws-1-lb-Pack-212GS1/100128995
I've definitely picked up some tips from your videos. What do you use for the underside of the upper cabinets on both sides of the lights? How do you hide the cuts?
It depends on the cabinets. I actually have never done something like that. Most of the swaps that people do are putting non-Ikea fronts on Ikea cabinets, and that I have done multiple times.
How long did this install take, including assembling cabinets? Looks great! We had IKEA cabinets in our 1st home for 10+ years without even the slightest wear showing. The next home we built we went “higher end”. They didn’t begin to hold up near as well as the ikea cabinets had.
Watched the video again. You got some serious experience with installing this stuff - crazy how smooth your work flow is. At 5:20, is that a FORBATTRA cover panel that you are cutting?
Can you show us in a video the different angles of a cooktop sektion cabinet with two drawers inside compared to a sink sektion cabinet inside? Have you had an install for either of either of them where you showed the installationof the cooktop or sink and how the cooktop goes on/into them? Also have you ever used a sektion base cabinet labeled as a "cooktop" base cabinet but used it for a deep drop in sink since it has the same base components? Im considering getting the one with just a front for the top "drawer" that is immobile and one drawer at bottom for my sink so all my base cabinets look the same but i have no ikea in my state and the online pictures dont actually show what it looks like inside the cabinets in that manner. Do you have any inside angle pictures or video clips of these? 😊 please. These have been my favorite ikea install videos yet that are helping me realistically decide. Thank you by the way
Ikea kitchen max life 5 years, they never ever last. I would never touch them if I had a choice. What to do is build proper cabinets and change out the doors when needed. The allure is the ease and the beauty when new. Go and check them 3 years later as they swell and fall apart. Proper hardwood kitchens will last decades. I am already fixing my DIY kitchen after 2 years.
Hi, this is was in USA, and IKEA actually did away with those.... The closest version available is this: BILLSBRO Series Handle, stainless steel www.ikea.com/us/en/p/billsbro-handle-stainless-steel-color-00323632/ again, in USA.... not sure if that's available in Europe....
@@franklin5083k thanks for that info. I did finally get up the nerve to touch a box and I actually put it together🥰it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be…only 55 more boxes to go😉
You can definitely assemble these yourself, but I highly recommend that you hire a professional to install the cabinets. I've had to come to redo the kitchens after people would install it themselves - and it's super hard to make corrections.
@@maxplus2849 $3111.56 would be money well spent as for as I’m concerned. We waited almost a year for the cabinets from IKEA because of Covid and now every contractor I’ve called has a 3-6 months wait😩 Your videos have been very helpful and hopefully we won’t mess up too bad🤞🏽
Ikea only provides the nails for the cabinet assembly, and the ones that are used for the panels and deco strip. All other nails and screws used for attaching the cabinets to the wall, floor, or to each other I have to buy.
If looking at the video you believe you can do it, then go ahead :) If you're somewhat lost in the process, then maybe it is a better idea to hire a professional :) In any case, here is my email: live2blessothers@gmail.com I will do my best to answer your questions.
The kitchen cost was around $6,500; what it's going to cost in France/Europe you would have to check with your local Ikea. The prices vary here (in USA) even within the state.
I'm so surprised that someone who lives in a house with a beautiful garden with a huge swimming pool has an Ikea kitchen. They're not bad but not very durable material. Great job in installing thou
I agree I would never put a Ikea kitchen if money was no issue. Very very cheap. Look good for 2 years and then they start to swell and stink. A proper kitchen last decades

Great work AND video presentation!! Which range vent is being used in this design? It looks great for insertion into a custom hood design.
It was: UTDRAGBAR

At Ikea
I've definitely picked up some tips from your videos. What do you use for the underside of the upper cabinets on both sides of the lights? How do you hide the cuts?
I cut the panel and face the cut sides towards the light and that closes both cuts.
At 12:29, the long rectangle thin vertical piece that you are holding in your right hand - what is that?
That is a filler cut out from the cover panel.
Thank you for this video. Can you please tell me, are you able to put RINGHULT fronts on non-ikea cabinets?
It depends on the cabinets. I actually have never done something like that. Most of the swaps that people do are putting non-Ikea fronts on Ikea cabinets, and that I have done multiple times.
Did you use the high gloss laminate countertop from ikea? Or have you ever used it and would you recommend it for a glossy look?😊

This kitchen I did in 3 days with my assistant.

I dont have a video to show that, but the upper doors are fake doors.
Amazing!!!!
Thanks!!
Hello Max. Are the cover panels absolutely necessary and if not when please. I attempted this on my own now im stressing
Basically always, you can not put between the microwave if your wall cabinets are 30" high, and you are going to put the microwave but not the hood

Thank you! I only do installs in Northern California and the Bay Area.

$ 7,800 kitchen cost in California, no installation.
