    Loved watching the process from fluff to yarn. Can't wait to see the jumper come to life. Mr Attic is the spinner in our house. Our little grandaughter loves to treddle, she can't wait to make something.😊xx

      Aww that is so cute, I can see why a little one would love to get involved at the spinning wheel, it's so fun to be able to see it whirling around making yarn. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video x

    Am off to collect my new-to-me antique Haldane tomorrow, actually my 2nd wheel but I've been wanting one for ages and now, so excited!
    Your user guide was so useful, I'll be able to use the info when I see it before I commit so that I can check it works ok.
    Thanks so much for sharing the explanation how it all works Angela! ❤
    Also really nice that you're a Brit it's a refreshing change on these reels.
    Best wishes Melanie 😊

    Really enjoyed this, thank you. Having acquired one recently I've noticed that there aren't many videos with Haldanes on YT, so this is very much appreciated.
    Something useful I learned is that the whorl is attached by a reverse direction threaded nut. Just in case there's anyone else out there who might be puzzled as to why the confounded thing won't come off. Righty loosey, lefty tighty is so counter intuitive!😂

      I just bought a Shetland, for £22 at an auction. I was wondering what was up with the whorl.😊

    I’m so excited by this project I don’t know how you feel lol! It’s been great to see the process from start to finish as you spin the fibre so I can’t wait to see how the project turns out!
    You’re just one step away from getting your own sheep and spinning straight from source haha

    • @YarnNYarns
      @YarnNYarns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to say I am very excited to have finished but also a bit apprehensive that after all that spinning the finished piece might just end up looking like a dogs dinner, hehe!!
      I did suggest to James that we should get a couple of sheep but he's not keen on the idea, maybe I'll just bring home a fleece or two instead......wonderwool is coming up afterall!!

    Lovely spin. I am excited to see what you make with it. Thank you for taking us through the process. Watching you spin was so relaxing. Have you thought about just doing like a slow tv sit and spin with only the noise of the wheel? xx

      Thank you so much I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I did have a couple of requests for that type of video when I asked for suggestions so I'm sure I will do something like that soon

    Hi Ange. The yarn is so you with all that orange! You kept me company while I was doing a tubular cast on. Have you chosen a sweater yet? I’m off to California on Saturday, whoo Hoo, I cant wait. Loved the video as always. Kathy

    • @YarnNYarns
      @YarnNYarns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay so happy that I got to keep you company I love to hear what everyone is up to while they are watching. I am toying with the idea of the Just the Right Angle, as that seems to be easily adaptable for any weight and quantity of yarn. But I will swatch as soon as I can to see what gauge I want to knit at and then will have a search around on rav for patterns before I make a final decision

      @YarnNYarns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nowadays I take my spare yarn to the Flea Market. Everyone wants the smallest two-ply worsted yarn I can make. Sometimes I can't give away the heavier two-ply woollen spun yarn. Absolutely nothing keeps my feet warmer than my knitted wool socks.

    Hi Angela, I found this so helpful and fascinating. Thank you! Do you soak the yarn in hot water? I hope you are glowing with pride for the yarn you made because it is completely gorgeous.

    • @YarnNYarns
      @YarnNYarns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww thank you, you are making me blush x I soak the yarn in lukewarm water rather than hot, I find that reduces the risk both of colour running and also of felting/fulling the fibres
