For those commenting on the bad animation, while the criticism is certainly valid and true, just acknowledge that animation is far more expensive than making the models themselves.
congrats, that is the one of the worst arguments i have ever read. you're basically saying "the quality of the animation is bad, but they spent a bunch of money on it."
@@saurianfan7102 It's "Wyrex", and frankly the idea that its tail was actually bitten off (as opposed to being some sort of taphonomic artifact, given we have no actual signs indicating it being an injury or signs of healing) is a speculative one that, while certainly a compelling possibility for a TV audience, isn't actually supported by the fossil evidence itself. The claims made in the show aren't actually substantiated by any sources.
Despite the animation, which really isn’t that bad in my eyes, the models are pretty freaking accurate, and cool-looking. The rex behavior shown is also REALLY accurate compared to most other documentaries. Seeing a rex stalking a Triceratops and sprinting up behind it as stealthily as possible instead of roaring at its face and charging it is real nice.
This was a much needed and appreciated documentary. It seems like too many now adays are either cartoony in nature or have models that belong to a documentary from 1995.
This might be the most accurate Tyrannosaurus depiction in any form of media ever. Right down to the sound effects too, which are more like low gurgles and growls than mammalian roars.
@@SharksandDinos I'd argue the colouration of this one is better tho. It's better suited for camouflage in the Cretaceous, something crucial for an ambush predator
I have to say, the designs for these Tyrannosaurs are great. The model that they used was also really accurate and seemed to depict the physical structure of T. Rex extremely well. Their skin patterning is also nice- it's not too bright, yet not too dull either.
I absolutely love this T. Rex design, movement and behaviour all very acurate imo, I like the sparse fuzz and lack of lips, the way these animals fed and participated in regular face biting does not support full floppy lips which would be torn off, also they scraped the meat off bones with their front teeth pulling back at the same time(see Dr hone) which would be hindered by full lips, imo this is still the most accurate rex depiction yet.
Dude that freaking design is amazing!! It looks so accurate without any exaggerated roars like Jurassic Park, the roar is actually very cool and still sounds menacing
Even if they're animated CGI models,I feel sorry for these animals.I couldn't imagine how tough and painful their life was.It was fighting and surviving every day.
Please don't slit my throat for this, but I find the idea of T-Rex hunting in packs and forming social bonds makes evolutionary sense. A full grown Rex can way anywhere from 7 to 9 tons, which would have made chasing down prey all the more difficult. My theory is that the juveniles, teenagers, would chase the victim into the jaws of the waiting adults.
Okay. I could be wrong, but MY theory on Tyrannosaur pack mentality is that a pack may have consisted of Mother and Father, along with juveniles from previous clutches and chicks.
King Rexy That’s a common mistake though. Every animal is biased. For mammals, especially big cats and elephants. Basically every famous animal, Megalodon is the most biased IMO. But true story, yeah Wyrex was found with a tail bitten in half.
The design of the T Rex is awesome, but why are the Triceratops try saving their fallen member when it's pointless they would just move on and let the Rex is have it's meal, and getting beaten by the Triceratops would've killed it?
I agree. It's doubtful they shared the same bond as mordern cape buffalo. If the fallen Trike could have been saved it would have been a bit more understandable.
