I absolutely love this place. Stayed there for 5 days with my husband and teenage daughter. Everything is nice and quiet. The breakfast, the restaurant, the beach. Not for everyone, though. You need to feel comfortable being close to the natural environment that surrounds the hotel. Looking forward to come back. Thank you!
Thank you very much for sharing with us your experience. You have shown exactly what is the soul of Mango Bay which not everyone can really get. I love the simple and rustic beauty of this resort as well as their touching sevices and nice foods. Hope you keep making more videos about hotels and resorts in Vietnam and other countries as well.
Dear Kevin, Having watched the majority of your reviews by now, I would like to just send you a big "thank you" from Germany! I admire and feel inspired by the way you eloquently and competently display judgement and passion for holiday feeling as well as detail in execution. Please rock on! Cheers, Christian
such a beautiful concept. Usually hesitant with eco hotels esp in the heat even though I admire the commitment, but the bed cooling set up might be a game changer now.
@@tfft Showed my wife this video and she love the resort. It is on our bucket list for VN in 2023. Also binged watch your other review videos. We enjoy your voice commentary and hope you will continue doing that in future reviews.
Yes, switched to the voice after I got feedback from multiple non-English speaking friends that the subtitles over the text was not ideal. Glad you enjoy the new format. Will continue to evolve as I learn more but the voiceovers will stay :). Thanks for the support!
This is a really great review and I will definitely try to stay here on a future trip to Phu Quoc. By the way... I am originally from New York but have been living in Saigon nearly 30 years and came for the first time in 1988 with my wife who is originally from Saigon but who I met in New York in 1976 and now married 44.5 years! We went to Phu Quoc for the first time in 2002 and it was sooooo quiet back then. The style of the rooms is reminiscent of Aman hotels which are insanely expensive but ever so nice being typically minimalistic but with a lot of high quality or at least nice looking wood. I only recently discovered your channel and find it terrific. Personally... I won't even consider leaving the country again till all have been operating normally without incident and without any restrictions for at least a year. Hope you can return soon and do more of these in Vietnam.
Hi, you mentioned this property is on the east coast? But when you zoom in with google maps, you show a property on the west coast (there’s 2 “mango” properties on the island). Could you clarify which property this is?
If I said east coast (it’s an older video, can’t remember off the top of my head), that was a mistake. It is as the map shows on the west coast, along with the vast majority of resorts on the island. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for clarifying Kevin. I was 99% sure it was the one on the west coast but I wanted to make sure I had the facts correct. Keep up the great vidoes!
All they need are those nettings that you can put over the window to prevent the bugs from coming in at night. Also-- outdoor toilets and shower facilities are a meme-- you will 100% lose your desire for outdoor showers when something starts buzzing at you and lands near your genitals at night.
what about mosquitoes here ? If it were in India , mosquitoes would have eaten u alive. I didn't see any curtain or anything as such to protect from mosquito here.
I went to Mango Bay after watching this....huge mistake! Mango Bay is a complete dump! And it's very dangerous to walk around...just terrible! i nearly twisted my ankle twice. And there's large rats running around the premises. It's like a huge forest that hasn't been tended to. That's not eco. It's neglect. The property is not even adequately lit at night so you are stuck in your cabin after 7pm, not that there's anything to do there because there isn't. And it's located in the middle of nowhere so you are isolated. I paid for a large villa with a bay view but got a view of trees. And the villa smelled bad and was not well cared for. $150/night for that garbage. It matches Phu Quoc which is an overpriced garbage dump with nothing at all to do. A total waste of time and money...Mango Bay and Phu Quoc.
Seems like you're more focused on "sustainability" and "organic" nonsense as opposed to seeing what the resort offers. Mango Bay is a BUDGET resort. It's decent but not luxury. Given that this resort is maybe your highest rated as of the date of the video, the question is, can your judgment be trusted? Anyone can claim their resort is designed for sustainability with no real evidence backing the claims other than superficial things (i.e Mango Bay). And anyone can claim to use organic products especially in developing countries where there are no real standards or checks. Even in the USA, organic doesn't mean much. It's basically a marketing gimmick. Aside from that, even if the property focused on sustainability and used real organic products, so what? I didn't know your ratings were tied into a "save the earth" theme. Real ratings should be removed from that stuff. I suppose you think global warming (which was changed to "man-made climate change" once the dire predictions didn't pan out) is legit as well. I suggest you remove your liberal nonsense from your reviews if you expect to be taken seriously.

Have two from Vietnam coming up very soon and 5 more in a few months- and around 20 countries overall coming this year. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

A wonderful review..😁😁😁
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)

And they also have some specific villas with AC as well.
Enjoyed this video!

You can check the price yourself on Grab…
and the room with no air con?
I will stay Mango Bay resort in few days with my kids, hope mosquitos stay away from them 😅
Have fun! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft love to watch your channel ❤️
Loved the restaurant. Hated the hot mosquito filled open rooms with critters coming in and not being able to sleep during storms.
Ah the storm that came through while I was there was actually the reason I slept so well because it cooled it off so much 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Tbh I love a good outdoor shower though- critters and all 😂

Mosquitos are only a problem during rainy season, but there’s a full mosquito net around the bed.

You sound lovely.
Been here 20 yrs ago . It was nice and isolated. Don't know what happen now.
Hmmm. Is it not ‘nice and isolated’ now? Lol

My reviews are based on the price paid. A $50 Hotel and a $400 Hotel providing the same experience are not going to have the same score.
Get a grip.
Trump is that you?
