This is correct for any natural haired brush (water can/may weaken the bristles like the hair on your head). However, using a conditioner/cleaner like this nourishes the bristles, Making them last longer. I hope that helps. If you still dont like water, you can always use the BR cleaner soap and thinner method.
You weren’t kidding about this stuff. It’s fantastic. I accidentally left my one inch brush covered in paint for a month. This brought it back to life, removed the dried paint, and left the bristles soft and smooth. Excellent recommendation. Thanks!

Hi Wild. I use vegetable solvent (not toxic and biodegradable product) to clean brushes. Do you think that the vegetable oil with the pigment from the brushes can ruin pipes and my sink? I haven't got a sink outside... Thanks a lot. Silvia
They can depending on the type of solvent. You can look on the bottle and see what it is classified as (or the manufactures website), That will give you a starting point to see how it should be disposed. Most non toxic and bio-d's are safe because they break down with water BUT always double check
Great video and I really appreciate your mentioning how oil paints can create problems for plumbing. I'm new to oils and had no idea. Question: I'm using oil paints for Bob Ross painting. So what do YOU do to pre-clean your oil paint brushes before using the Master's e.g. wipe brush off well with paper towels, then use the beater rack but with no product? or maybe I could use Walnut oil first then use the Master's with water? I'd rather not use mineral spirits or other toxic cleaners at all. Just wondering if this is possible with oil paints and Master's alone. Thanks in advance for any additional tips you can provide for this. And now sweat was visible in the video 😉

Hi I’ve been watching Bob on and of for years and have always wanted to paint. Now I’m eventually ready to go and I’m collecting information and equipment. - I’ve got a fantastic amount of quality information from your videos thank you - now to my reason for comment, question actually, I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that you should never put water near Bob Ross paint brushes. Think of paint brushes like the hair on your head. Washing and cleaning your hair dries out the hair and makes it brittle ( same thing happens to your paint brushes). Using conditioners and paint soaps will keep the hairs healthy so they last long (even if you use water because those products coat and nourish the hairs). When you are done painting for the day.... Clean the hell out of your brushes in paint thinner and a beater rack and dab in a paper towel. They should be like 95% clean. Then use this product to get the last 5% while conditioning your brushes. You sink will be fine with this process cause you will most likely be cleaning out very little pigment ( mostly remaining thinner is all) Hope that helps
You never want to leave your brushes sitting in a bucket of water or use lots of water to clean them. Just use the minimum required for the Masters brush cleaner to work. The problem with water and natural hair brushes is that natural bristle (hog) hair absorbs water, lots of water. It will make the brush swell and just ruin it.

Well if you clean while you paint it makes it a little easier at the end of the day when you have to use the cleaner/preserver. Hard to tell but it sounds like you might be using too much soap. Clean your brushes well with thinner or water first. Then use a small lather of soap... that should be better for ya.

They are not. You can get away with cleaning them with dawn dish soap and water but it will damage the hair/bristles faster. Which is why I recommend getting a product like this that will clean and nourish your brush Hope that helps
washing your beater rack is fine - I would just do it over a plastic bag and let that dry in the sun when you are all down. then you can throw that away. Best to avoid the sink when you can
I use this for most of my brushes, but I'm scared to use it on my Bob Ross brushes, since they say to not use water on them. Have you noticed any any kind of damage or fraying from using water on them?

Hey what’s up so I bought this item to clean my 5 Bob Ross brushes and it completely destroyed all of them like each of them the bristles split in the middle and is completely useless now. I know u are looking out for artist with these tips and tricks but this item doesn’t work
Sorry to hear that BUT that's not possible unless you did something way wrong. This product is a conditioner that cleans and nourishes your brushes. Just like the hairs on your head when you take a shower. Sounds like you need to reshape your brush when conditioning. I talk a little about it in this video here: th-cam.com/video/Ce3C81wGkIc/w-d-xo.html
Understandable BUT the conditioning lather it leaves on the bristles nourishes and protects. So it outweighs the water issue. Perhaps try the small disc size and test it on a smaller brush so you can see if it fits your style or not.

Are Bob Ross oil paints water soluble ??

Hi I’ve been watching Bob on and of for years and have always wanted to paint. Now I’m eventually ready to go and I’m collecting information and equipment. - I’ve got a fantastic amount of quality information from your videos thank you - now to my reason for comment, question actually, I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that you should never put water near Bob Ross paint brushes. I watched your videos about the cleaners and I really liked the look of the big tub until I saw the tap water ( also your comment about the sink freaked me out cos I have enough problems with my sink without clogging it with oil paint and the outside cold water tap in January in Scotland 🥶). I think it'll be large enough for my Bob Ross 2" brush, so I ordered that size to try it out. I'm sure I'll like it. I probably should have ordered the large tub.
Large Tub Best Tub 😜
The small will be fine for you to just test out to see if you like it. The large tub makes its so much easier to lather and clean all your brushes 💪
I swear by this stuff. Usually it takes two times to get them totally clean
It really is the best stuff ever.
Awesome vid thanks
Thanks for watching - I appreciate it :)
You should do a painting that we can follow along or just a painting
Currently working on one - They just take a long time to shot by myself.
@@WildCreates ok I cant wait to see it
Hey what’s up so I bought this item to clean my 5 Bob Ross brushes and it completely destroyed all of them like each of them the bristles split in the middle and is completely useless now.
@@WildCreates I followed ur instructions watched the video twice before applying the product it didn’t work. Bought new brushes the grind don’t stop
Darn almost!😂
Almost on what? 😜
Wild Creates the first view 🤙🏻
I just use a cup of water
That will work for watch soluble paints But not oils and such.
This product cleans and nourishes the bristles.
Unfortunately the quality of this brush cleaner is down!
They are using less lemon oil in the formula!
Not the same!
😬
Really - I just bought a new tube and it work great. Did you get a big tube or small size?
@@WildCreates I always bought the small round pot
Maybe the top coat on the pot is separated. Let me know if its still crap after a handful of uses.
This product may very well be awesome but no way am I using water on my brushes. Sorry 😢
Understandable BUT the conditioning lather it leaves on the bristles nourishes and protects. So it outweighs the water issue.
Perhaps try the small disc size and test it on a smaller brush so you can see if it fits your style or not.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂 I ruined all my brushes well not all most of them
Get this product then.... It might be able to save your brushes.
It saved a few of mine.
@@WildCreates I mite have to
Go for it buddy :)
