An important heads up to anyone unfamiliar with the use of copper cookware in cooking: avoid anything acidic or it will leech copper into your food in a not-so-protective manner.
Tomatoes don't mix with copper either
Some people are also allergic to copper, because their bodies cannot process it like others can, it builds up in their system. If you behind using copper anything with cooking then start to develop any form of medical issue, make sure to bring up the new use of copper utensils!!

Copper is good for stillroom energy. It helps negates the toxins that come from the original ferments so the foreshot doesn't need to be as large.
So, I’m turning 50 this year. I’ve always had a feeling for maybe not witchcraft but more of a folk magic kind of life, although the last year and a half I’ve been studying a lot more. But since I moved into my house in. 1998, I’ve always had a small copper strainer that hands over my sink. Handy to grab to strain small amounts of things. And I’ve always had copper molds hung on my kitchen walls as decor. I have iron trivets and a small broom with a decorative iron handle for hanging that I bought in an artist colony in British Columbia. I think in my heart, all my life I knew what I was. Just took a long time to get my mind to realize it too!
I have bells stitched to my kitchen broom so that when I sweep the crumbs (and dog hair, let's be honest) I also sweep the negative or stagnant energy. My kitchen is where I do all of my working and I want to keep it fresh.
One magic that you have that I will never understand is how you get those amazing hats to stay on your head. They are always just flipping right off of me whenever I turn my head, haha.

I love these ideas, so simple and easy for anyone to do, yet really effective. I have a cast iron trivet which was left by the fireplace by the previous owners of our house. It has horseshoes on it and I love it! Going to have to look out for a copper sieve or collander now, they are beautiful!

Hey! I so love copper too. I've been watching out for more to keep around. The sieve magic is pretty cool thank you!! Perfect, thank you! Kinda stuck on iron bakeware too, I found a vintage muffin tin with heart- shaped wells that I keep in my kitchen. My personal sigil is a heart, and a trinity with a heart through it so it fits well.
I started to use a vintage copper cauldron in my practice this year & I love it so much.....really do prefer it to my old cast iron one.

I loved this one. Yes please to more. I hang all my medicine making supplies in honoring of that work. I find that to be protective. I also have so many items from my grandparents and family that would have been thrown out but they hold energy that is so home oriented. So that is also hung and used in magickal workings. Xo
So many cute and wonderful tips Annie. I love how you gave a nod to the fact a lot of witchy practices were hidden in plain site. "It's just the things we do". I got a little bit of a bittersweet feeling when you mentioned cast iron decorations. My Mamaw had so many cast iron spoons and things she hung on the wall. There was one that was beautiful; It featured a galloping horse and the spoons hung under it. I was supposed to inherit it when she passed, but sadly she didn't have a will and other family members took everything from her apartment, including things that were my late Mother's that should have also gone to me. It's upsetting but, maybe I'll get lucky at a thrift store or garage sale and be reunited with those items one day.

I have a vintage trivet with the brooms and a little heart that I absolutely love that I found in a little junk shop. I didn't know that about the colanders and I wish I'd grabbed the one I found in April but I went with the super old dough bowl instead. I don't know that there's necessarily folklore around the dough bowls but real ones that were actually well used and well loved just feel magic to me.

🌲🍀🐾💚 a very "Green, Kitchen Witchy, Folklore-ish, kinda Hearth-crafty" video (WHEW!). Hand polished Copper always looks better than gold (I think). There's something "ethereal" about that soft glow from reflected ambient lighting. And Holy Mother of Nature, you look 👀 Stunning in that Green Witches outfit & hat! 🙃😲😍💘💚🐾🍀🌲.
tied broom made of rushes (long water grasses) is protective, about as powerful as cast iron but works best by doors. The one I made 2yrs ago isn’t very big, maybe 2ft long, & it’s hung by my entrance (Scottish Magick). Really basic, just wrap tied tight with hemp about 2/3 length & the rest is skirted & trimmed straight. Water Fairies are viscous little things, but that little broom sort of invites them to guard my entrance.

My grandfather welded trivets when I was a child. Mom always hung them on the walls. I don't think she knows why.
I know that I have a-lot of Pappy's stuff put up from when I bought my house. I have to see if I can find if I had any or just mom.
I also kept his welding pieces in the windows, and in my rooms.
This makes me smile now that we did all this without knowing.
I loved this video and kitchen magic tips. Folklore and hearth craft interested me. I now have to hang my small cast iron pan. I have cooper items in my home , glad to know their magical properties.
My great grandma would put a small pot to simmer on the wood stove with orange peels cinnamon sticks and lemon rinds. She would simmer slow all day the house smelt amazing. I continue this practice regularly.

I love your videos they’re always so helpful and as in herbal which myself I find them so inspiring and helpful to my personal craft! I love all the fresh flowers you always have in the background of your videos and would love a tips video on that! A lot of the time when I put fresh herbs in water they don’t stay fresh and I was just wondering if you could do a tips and tricks on how to keep herbs fresh in the home! Unless you end up changing your herbs out every few days and that’s how they always look so fresh lol but would love to see a video on Botanica home craft!

Great video ! Thanks for this ! I have always loved trivets but never associated them with magic ! Love this idea ! I have a lot of cast iron and a few copper bottom pots, i also have two little cauldrons, one is a mini one that has a round copper holder to hang it with chains and the other is about five inches across the top. I use them for my sage and palo santo sticks with a bit of colored sand in the bottoms. I also have a set of copper funnels that i love. Those are really lovely pans 😊 Blessed Be Annie 💚💚

Thought your community might like to know something else about copper. I was told by a woman from Louisiana, she would be in her 90's now, that copper was used for wedding bands a lot because it promotes love. Yes her and her husband's were copper.

I keep a broom on my porch for the boohag (bad energy, evil spirits, not nice things) to count so she leaves us alone at night. I also keep bundles of sage around the house.

Hey Annie! What do you think about Cinnamon Stick Brooms that are for decoration and I think can break pieces off? I am not sure about that. I am sure the cinnamon stick brooms smell good at least.
I keep those by each main entry door! They do smell wonderful but also beautiful to look at. They are made decently but I only use them to "sweep" the energy out..like after company, illness or to move out stagnant energy. I don't actually sweep dirt with them. I cleanse them after sweeping away energy.

What would be a good way to remove heaviness from a room? Its only 1 room I feel this in. Its also manily when my husband gets home when i feel this. Thanks for any suggestions.
From my experience, if it's feeling heavy, add lightness.
The energetic pull of a room is dependent upon the flow of waves and their ability to converge non- destructively. ( Feng Shuei)
A square (hex) room incubates / impedes flow of charge. Creating an environment that encourages flow and harmony can be done many ways.. Houseplants entrain out of phase waves.. Piezo-electric stones such as quartz, shungite, turmaline etc.. well made orgonite or selanite lamps also work by transforming waves to negatively charged ions... Most of my cooking arsenal is cast iron
Same. I doubt I'll be able to do much in the way of "passing down" but I just adore working with it and it's one of the few 'cookwares' you can buy second hand without worrying about issues like the protective non stick coating breaking down. Just some steel wool, elbow grease and a good seasoning and they're good as new.
"It's just what you did" - is how I feel about things called magic and herbalism today.

If you keep strainers on your wall for protection, should you avoid using them for cooking/preparing food as well?
they work to diffuse energy, not to absorb it. If it's something that is meant to absorb energy then it shouldn't be eaten but if it breaks it up or wards it away it's fine to use.
