Fun fact: Nicolas Cage said that he was on set for 2 hours and they just wanted him to "pretend he is witnessing the end of the universe" so he was really surprised they got him fighting a spider while de-aging him. So while people might hate him for doing the part, he really had no idea about the final cut.
Damn this made me realize this movie was worse than I remember it. All the cameos are just so cheap and unnecessary. They did it just because they could.
Looking back, it there's a LOT of issues with the spheres. And I definitely agree George Reeves shouldn't have been there. But I'll admit that in the theater, I was surprised to see all those sphere cameos. Nick Cage was cool, and the Christopher Reeve one even made me tear up a little.

Im starting to think that they dont want to even recognise Grant as a flash or even the TV show as anything considering they didnt even show BA What wouldve been funny is that in the end credit scene instead of changing the batman in a flash movie is if they changed ezra miller to Grant gustin
If they were going to continue with that universe, I'm sure they would have. But it looks like Gunn is starting from the beginning. Younger Superman then younger Batman. Bringing in the Green Lantern Corps.
More related to George Reeves than The Flash, but there's a really good movie about George Reeves called 'Hollywoodland.' in which Ben Affleck played George Reeves meaning technically Ben Affleck is the only actor to play both Batman and Superman. I mean, it's him playing a dude who's playing another dude but still.
Saying those old actors are not relevant is so wrong. How old is this person - 12? George Reeves played Superman at a time when TV was a new thing and every family watched the same channel, daily. More than 30-40 million homes would watch Superman on TV. Adam West's Batman was on cable almost continuously until the late '90s, almost worldwide. and don't even get me started on how iconic Chris Reeve is. Most consider him to be the ONLY true Superman portrayal. These new actors have come and gone, in what, less than a decade? SMH.
I saw a recent article that was released a few hours ago stated that the children of the late actor Christopher Reeve had no involvement with the Flash cameo nor they had seen the cameo itself.
It bothers me that this movie focused so much on Batman and Superman stuff and basically disregarded the fact that it was supposed to be a Flash movie. I understand if they wanted to save Thawne for later, but why did the plot have to be focused on Zod? Especially considering the presence of multiple Batmen, Supermen, and Supergirls, did they really have to make a Superman villain the focus of the plot?
The younger Barry was the villain in the movie. He was the one to kick the older Barry out of the speedforce prematurely. Then went on to try and change the timeline, coming close to destroying the multiverse. He might have been the one to stab his mom in the first place just to make the older Barry go back to try and stop it. Causing a time loop.
It's also a shame that they gave a cameo to an actor we won't see again, instead of giving a cameo to the actor who portrayed The Flash in the first live action Flash tv show.
There were 3 Superman cameos yet Grant Gustin is nowhere in sight, despite him being single handedly responsible for keeping The Flash relevant to the general public
How beautifully timed was it that this scene came out right before SAG and WGA went on strike with a major concern for studios using AI to replicate their likeness and work?
The Nicolas Cage Superman cameo is like if they had Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern had a cameo but instead of getting Ryan Reynolds they get a shitty CGI version instead of the actual actor also, that entire spider scene is not how I would’ve played out in Superman Lives it would’ve been completely different and also he would’ve had the black suit by the point he would’ve fought the spider, Also the spider would’ve been a robot with brainiac conscious something that Andy Muschietti seemingly didn’t do his research on and only looked at the concept art and didn’t read any of the scripts That specify that the giant spider is a robot with brainiacs conscious, and Superman is wearing the black suit after being resurrected
As someone who laughed hard at the Nic Cage cameo, if they wanted to do a deepcut reference to a cancelled movie put Adam Brody as The Flash, he was supposed to be Barry in Justice League Mortal and would probably agree to do it since he worked on the Shazam movies
i will say this, from all the cameos, the least agregious one was the C. Reeves one. they didnt show him in any unflatering way, and the cg was the best out all of them. he doesnt really act, so it fit more as a homage... same with the supergirl besides him. if he was still alive, i know he would be honored to be represented in the movie like that.
I disagree about the Nicholas Cage cameo tbh, not about the CGI I agree that is abysmal but the actual cameo itself I liked mainly because it finally allowed Cage to fulfil a lifelong dream of playing the character on screen in some capacity with his likeness, maybe Superman Lives might’ve sucked but to me as someone who’s known about this never made movie I’m glad he appeared but yeah the CG especially used on him was completely unnecessary
I was waiting for him to jump out of his universe to go and help the Flash's take down Zod. 😊 But other than that I'd like to see at least an animated series with Nicolas Cage voiceing the 90's Superman.
He voiced Superman in Teen Titans GO to the Movies. Which may be a small role in an animated movie, but his role in The Flash was mostly CGI anyways and had no lines. His Teen Titans GO cameo involved more actual acting than his “live action” cameo.
Thomas Curry was a great cameo for a few reasons. Not only did it actually make sense for the story, but it was funny as well. Plus I think people just love Temuera Morrison, and were really happy to see him. I know I was
Chris Reeves' Family may have given permission, then again his Likeness Rights may have been held by a relative who didn't get a big share in the inheritance and is very bitter about it
George Reeves' cameo was absolutely disgusting to me. The fact that someone came up with that idea, pitched it, got approved and they fully rendered it, just put a sour taste in mouth. Chris Reeve's Superman was weird but it didn't make me angry, it just made me go "Oh, ok."
Seriously they could not have done other Flash actors, Grant Austin, John Wesley Shipp, they couldn't have brought in Brandon Routh as Superman, Val Kilmer As Batman, Linda Carter, hell any actor from the CW, Smallville or Lois and Clark, literally any actor still alive and would be more relevant to this movie. But a Nicolas Cage Superman from an unmade Superman movie from the 90s, and the necromancy with Christopher Reeves, Adam West and George Reeves! Not to mention your treatment of the DC as a whole for the last 10 years. Shafting Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck who are so good and deserve better than how they've been treated. Ben Affleck's scenes in the beginning made me sad that we may never get to see this version of Batman again and Henry Cavill is too nice and my heart broke for him. All of the actors deserved better than this. Supergirl in the Flash showed promise but I doubt we're going to see her again and you brought back Michael Keaton, MY Batman, to turn him into a raving lunatic, have some cool enough scenes as Batman and then get unceremoniously killed and bring back George Clooney at the end for a final middle finger at the end, and I felt, nothing. That's the worst thing, I feel nothing at the end of this movie. I'm done Go to hell Warner Bros, and stay there
This was rendered quickly with a low budget. Damn they truly messed the animation up. The mistake on the S was probably a polygon mistake, where vertices weren't aligned correctly. They so badly trying to beat Marvel's multiverse
Still haven't watched the movie because I thought he would flop and never got me interrested (plus grant is better) but the fact of having cameos of the dead is actually fucking uncanny it almost gives me chills, in a bad horrifying way
As far as I know, just like they separated Burton from Schumacher, they did it with Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh. Not the same continuity. And supposedly they don't even want to reference that movie. They released the 4ks and they didn't include that one. And it has nothing to do with the movie itself.
Maybe you're just nitpicking. Maybe enjoy the cameos for what they are which are homages and easter eggs for the audience. Why pick on every single thing instead of the meaning behind it?
Some of the complaint here are nitpicking but the Christopher Reeves and Helen Slater cameo was actually cool in my opinion. I always wanted to see the two of them in a movie together.
The worst parts of CGI was the super imposing of the second flash face in most the movie, was like the face wouldn’t move with the head right. Cgi was horrible but I enjoyed seeing Reeves and Slater, and Kevin Smiths opinion is like cancer and destroys everything it touches. Nic cage woulda been on point as the Clark Kent woulda been totally different and more believable (as it can be). But the problem is the cgi and the implementation of how it was done in the movie. But none the less seeing cage as Sup was nice I am bitter, sweet for reeves and Slater. I’m more upset that our Batman (Keaton) we grew up on basically was a hermit and was going to die by Zod no matter what so it’s like the send off we gave one of the best Batman is he dies regardless. But I loved the supergirl costume for sure. I am an old school reeves costume lover but the new supergirl costume was nice. But again, the supergirl we get is weak and gonna die regardless. Woulda liked to see her in own movie but pointless now as….she dies. CGI and the fact it’s from the latest DC universe is the main issue. Marvels CGI team doing a Superman movie would be on right
The fact that they didn't include Grant Gustin and/or John Wesley Shipp but thought it would be better to include those CGI monstrosities is such a disservice to the fans. I just find it to be purely aggravating
Friendly reminder that y’all shouldn’t get your hopes up for Gunn’s DCU. If Superman Legacy underperforms, (which is more than likely at this point), the DCU is as good as dead.
Christian Bale and Grant Gustin should've been shoe ins for this flashpoint movie. NO ONE knows that George Clooney or the other actor that was in this movie as Batman(I literally forgot his name!) It's bullshit that "they didn't have enough room" literally rewrite the movie then.
unpopular opinion: Characters from the arrowverse appearing in The Flash at all makes the movie worse, especially Grant Gustin's flash, because then I would be forced to remember how terrible the show was.
@@jetuwu8960 This isn't my opinion, it's a fact. The entire arrowverse was so dogshit it gave me stage 2 diabetes and made me wish I was dead ever time I turned the flash on. good riddance.
Cut this "dead so can't be shown" crap. Oppenheimer showed every dead scientist in the world without their permission and you're crying for these small cameos 😂
The lack of appreciation for the chromobowl not only having Nic Cage Superman fight a spider but in different parts of it you can see the original design for Brainiac's ship for the film and see Superman fight Doomsday which were all part of Kevin Smith's script is a shame, that was genuienly good fan service
To answer your question in 12:14 on why this movie uses old cameos from actors from the 50s-70's instead of alive ones? its easy, money. These iconic actors are dead and its cheaper to pay a fee to their surviving families (if they don't like, George Reeves, it costs studios nothing to be able to abuse their image in these films) compared to paying a live actor a day's worth of film plus having their input towards the making of the film. This film's budget was around 300 million without marketing included, so I imaged the studio was finding corners to cut near the end of production judging by the awful CGI in this movie.
Ben affleck was the best looking bruce wayne. It looked the closest to the older batman in the cartoon and comics. George looks the leas like bruce. It’s like their trying to separate themselves from the CW because they know the Arrowverse is better.
Fun fact: Nicolas Cage said that he was on set for 2 hours and they just wanted him to "pretend he is witnessing the end of the universe" so he was really surprised they got him fighting a spider while de-aging him. So while people might hate him for doing the part, he really had no idea about the final cut.
Batman without ears is basically just “Big Daddy” from Kick-Ass
Damn this made me realize this movie was worse than I remember it. All the cameos are just so cheap and unnecessary. They did it just because they could.
It's wild that a decade ago Tom Hanks said he wanted to play Jay Garrick and WB have done nothing with that.
Glad they didn't. Tom is a creepy man
@@Commonsenseisntcommon34why?
Looking back, it there's a LOT of issues with the spheres. And I definitely agree George Reeves shouldn't have been there.
But I'll admit that in the theater, I was surprised to see all those sphere cameos. Nick Cage was cool, and the Christopher Reeve one even made me tear up a little.
I’m glad that Grant,John, and Henry didn’t make a Cameo in the Flash Movie as either the CGI would look Bad or it would feel like Bait like how Black Adam felt,to Me the Flash is a Good Enough Film but suffers from Multiple Problems,If I have to pick the Solid Cameos,it will be Thomas Curry,Nicholas Cage,Wonder Woman,Aquaman,Jay Garrick, and George Clooney as the Fit the Weirdness of the Movie.
In a Flash Movie we got more Superman and Batman Cameos than actual Speedsters
Because Superman and Batman are the beginning of the DC universe.
Im starting to think that they dont want to even recognise Grant as a flash or even the TV show as anything considering they didnt even show BA
What wouldve been funny is that in the end credit scene instead of changing the batman in a flash movie is if they changed ezra miller to Grant gustin
If Clooney can come back, I demand Val Kilmer as Kingdom Come Batman.
but he cant be Batman no more he's in a wheelchair and has throat cancer
@@kidaidanykfl Right…that’s why I said “Kingdom Come Batman”.
Exosuit+voice modulator+the legend that is Val Kilmer.
@@chadwcmichael true, I didn't see the kingdom come my bad. I definitely think that could work.
@@chadwcmichael really?
The jay garrick one feels agregous to me in thr fact that it looks so much like teddy sears.
The fact that Teddy didn't know anything about it which mean that the production team doesn't know who played Jay Garrick for like 8 years
You know it's bad when MOM did it's cameos better then this. At least they got the actual actors and not used shitty cgi stand-ins.
Apparently like Justice League, there's a much better version of this movie somewhere in WB.
just like how there's a much better version of suicide squad (2016) still out there that WB is still hiding
They should have had a Bicycle Repairman cameo.
And all that strike will do is make studios want to use AI more lol
I have seen the future, and it is AI.... 🤖 Bahahaha!!!
Skynet is coming... 😉😆😂
I don't mind Nicholas Cage Superman cameo he is a fan of Superman he named his son kal el it's good to see him atleast as a cameo
Anyone else thought they brought back Clooney to kill the franchise again? If so, amazing ending.
Adam West: The ears are there, the quality is just bad.
I disagree
Because Adam Brody is not Nicholas Cage.
i will say this, from all the cameos, the least agregious one was the C. Reeves one. they didnt show him in any unflatering way, and the cg was the best out all of them. he doesnt really act, so it fit more as a homage... same with the supergirl besides him. if he was still alive, i know he would be honored to be represented in the movie like that.
But other than that I'd like to see at least an animated series with Nicolas Cage voiceing the 90's Superman.
He voiced Superman in Teen Titans GO to the Movies. Which may be a small role in an animated movie, but his role in The Flash was mostly CGI anyways and had no lines. His Teen Titans GO cameo involved more actual acting than his “live action” cameo.
John WS is the greatest live action Flash

Thomas Curry was a great cameo for a few reasons. Not only did it actually make sense for the story, but it was funny as well. Plus I think people just love Temuera Morrison, and were really happy to see him. I know I was
Chris Reeves' Family may have given permission, then again his Likeness Rights may have been held by a relative who didn't get a big share in the inheritance and is very bitter about it
Why didn't Linda carter's wonder woman & the superman from 2.006 movie in the cameos? Cause they were alive??
George Reeves' cameo was absolutely disgusting to me. The fact that someone came up with that idea, pitched it, got approved and they fully rendered it, just put a sour taste in mouth. Chris Reeve's Superman was weird but it didn't make me angry, it just made me go "Oh, ok."
Imagine if we got Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern in this movie
I'm done
Go to hell Warner Bros, and stay there
Imagine Nick Cage Superman is fighting Xenomorph. Then there would be a Elseworld Alien DC movie
What’s even worse is that the actor who played it a black-and-white flash didn’t even know he was in the movie and wasn’t given any profit.
I have a pretty solid theory for why you didn’t like the part about the flash being a virgin.
If we scrapped the two cgi supermarket (rip) and got a tom welling cameo we would've been just fine
Great job for calling out how disrespectful and pointless this scene was.
10:45+ He was my hero. I would watch this on grandma’s tv with her. To find out of what befell him. I am sad. 😭
Grant should have had a cameo...smh..they fuxed up big time with this ---film--- movie. Why are you talking LIKE THis? Are YOU trYing TO SOUND CooLa..
the Cage cameo was actually pretty cool
This was rendered quickly with a low budget. Damn they truly messed the animation up. The mistake on the S was probably a polygon mistake, where vertices weren't aligned correctly.
They so badly trying to beat Marvel's multiverse
Still haven't watched the movie because I thought he would flop and never got me interrested (plus grant is better) but the fact of having cameos of the dead is actually fucking uncanny it almost gives me chills, in a bad horrifying way
They using dead guys and superman as their cameo instead of the guy who still living and played as the Flash
As far as I know, just like they separated Burton from Schumacher, they did it with Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh. Not the same continuity. And supposedly they don't even want to reference that movie. They released the 4ks and they didn't include that one. And it has nothing to do with the movie itself.
The man debut was truly the cameo of all time
Maybe you're just nitpicking. Maybe enjoy the cameos for what they are which are homages and easter eggs for the audience. Why pick on every single thing instead of the meaning behind it?
People were able to end their own lives so easily back then
8:37 Oh look it's Superman 64.
Whoever came up with those cameo ideas should be fired
It's also such a waste that The Flash movie didn't have a single reference to the 1990's Flash tv show.
All current living actors character from the tv series that could’ve being brought for cameos smh
Couldn't afford Christian Bale or Robert Pattison, ends up with George Clooney
Some of the complaint here are nitpicking but the Christopher Reeves and Helen Slater cameo was actually cool in my opinion. I always wanted to see the two of them in a movie together.
"Noooo le heckin CGIrino is le baaaaad"
Sod off
The worst parts of CGI was the super imposing of the second flash face in most the movie, was like the face wouldn’t move with the head right.
Even if it hits $600 Million or more Zaslav will see it as a disappointment.
i dont think its likely
Comic books as a whole are dying. Makes sense the movies would eventually catch up
Christian Bale and Grant Gustin should've been shoe ins for this flashpoint movie. NO ONE knows that George Clooney or the other actor that was in this movie as Batman(I literally forgot his name!) It's bullshit that "they didn't have enough room" literally rewrite the movie then.
Brah, have to say that while I 100% give (gave) you thumbs up, I also disagree with your opinion … ain’t America great!!!
Christ that last one truly is the most horrible. I can forgive the rest (although it isnt up to me) but this was disrespectful.
unpopular opinion: Characters from the arrowverse appearing in The Flash at all makes the movie worse, especially Grant Gustin's flash, because then I would be forced to remember how terrible the show was.

@@jetuwu8960 This isn't my opinion, it's a fact. The entire arrowverse was so dogshit it gave me stage 2 diabetes and made me wish I was dead ever time I turned the flash on. good riddance.

All my homies love Nicolas Cage Superman
The lack of appreciation for the chromobowl not only having Nic Cage Superman fight a spider but in different parts of it you can see the original design for Brainiac's ship for the film and see Superman fight Doomsday which were all part of Kevin Smith's script is a shame, that was genuienly good fan service

The Flash looks like an Unreal Engine 4 game lmao
Robert Paterson does an amazing job was the young batman. The best batman movie since the The dark knight. The Dark Knight is the best batman movie, but roberts version of batman is right up there. Of course heath leadger joke made The Dark Knight.
Slow down there Flash, the CGI isn't that bad.
Why is Arthur going out and getting wasted anyway, isn't he King of Atlantis now? I thought he would have sobered up after that.
