      Malaysia has many Siamese living in Malaysia. I want you to explore it. Those people still used Thai in the era when Thailand was still called Siam.

    Mickey. If you are in Johor Bahru after your travels in Malacca, some food you can try in Johor Bahru, mi redus, mi bandung, kacang pool, sup tulang, lontong,... etc.
    If you miss Nepalese food, there is a Nepalese restaurant right in the middle of town.
    Hope you enjoy your travels in Malaysia.

    32:47 Yep! Char Kway and Pa Tong Go is the same thing! Actually Char Kway is the correct name that shown the root of this fried dough, it was called the similar name in the southern part of China. When it spread through the central part of Thailand (this thing likely spread from south to north), people mixed up its name with another Chinese snack and its been called Pa Tong Go ever since, but in Southern Thailand, we still retained its original name (Char Kway).

    • @ukchub6633
      @ukchub6633 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you have the link Char Kway back in China somewhere, not just Char Kway lots of famous food in Malaysia fuse origin from China that i know. i love Malaysia food always wondering why, and i follow from Malaysia to China. show us the link thanks. if you have one thanks.

    • @ArtMythstic13
      @ArtMythstic13 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ukchub6633 I'm sorry I kinda confused about your question, what link again?
      But if you asked about the specific place that sold this in China, I think it's pretty much widespread everywhere throughout the country, it was called Yu Char Kway in Southern China but its name in Mandarin is Youtiao (I think I saw some Malaysians with Mandarin roots using this name too). It actually has a wide variety of names even within China but most of them sounds similar to "Char Kway" as far as I heard, came with a long-ass folktale about its origin too, I don't remember the details but it's involved with some corrupt politician which you can find his kneeling statue in China.
      If you are often traveled to China and doing food tour then good luck! Eat for me to. 😂

    After being colonized by the Portuguese and Dutch for more than 300 years, Malacca is especially known for its Nyonya and Peranakan styles of food.
    2. Peranakan is Malay for “born here”, which refers to the Straits-born people of Chinese and Malay or Indonesian heritage. Male Peranakans are referred to as “Baba” whereas females and the culture in general of this matriarchal community are addressed as “Nyonya”.

    mickey you should try and explore Nyonya cuisine.. i'm sure you're already doing it now.. Nyonya food is Malay and Chinese combined.. its a very unique true Malaysia fusion cuisine which has evolve for hundreds of years.. Malay food on its own is very diverse.. different states has its subtle differences.. you should get away from the tourist trap.. Jonker street is just one of them.. but so sorry to see your experience in KL China town is not good.. but the truth is i don't know why they call it china town anymore as its been taken over by the Bangla and long ago.. i avoid it at all cost.. for real Malay food you should checkout Nasi Campur places.. Campur mean ''mix'' and ''nasi'' is rice.. basically rice with side dishes of your choice.. Nasi Kandar is the Indian equivalent of nasi Champur.. Malay curries are different to Indian one.. i'm sure you are already exploring all these option.. by the way mickey.. Penang is for everybody not just for family and lovers as you mentioned in your last video.. if you like Malacca you will love Penang its 5 time bigger.. Malacca.. Penang and Singapore was the first groups of the original British colony in that region.. you won't know until you've been there.. another reminder.. Malaysia is heterogenous multiracial very unique in that part of the world.. Thailand Indonesia Vietnam and the Philippines by enlarge is very homogenous.. that's why their cuisine is very unique.. but some people prefer Malaysia because its so diverse.. looking forward to your trip to Jakarta and all the other places.. you are a true Thai..
