a bit late commenting on your video but this video makes so much sense im a barber from the scotland to many fades are done without the proper gradiant you see the bald part of the fade and stretched straight up to the perateal ridge you cant see the fade from the bottom up i understand each to there own but this way of fading is the best way in my opinion its called a fade which basically is graduation from short to long the barbers here in the uk dont undertand this great video

But I have a problem, I bought a Babyliss Fx Clipper as my first machine and it is too difficult for me to fade with this clipper machine.
Do you think I should get used to it or do I need to get another machine to be able to fade better?
Honestly the notches on that clipper made it more difficult for me at first. Try taking them out or trying a clipper without the clicks

The fade blade is flat and the taper blade has a tapered edge.

great video! I'd love to see a fade on some blonde people. Also, a slower clipper over comb; blending the sides to the top. Almost everyone just says, "now I'm doing clipper over comb" then speeds up the video. How high to hold the comb, angle and what you as a barber are looking at. If money were no object, what clipper and trimmer would you get? I'm just a mom/grandma that cuts hair here and there and want to get some nice clippers. I have corded Fast feeds and a corded T outliner. Looking to get some nice cordless; I also would need the guards too. Thank you so much. I love your vids!
I’ll do a blonde soon and try to do some clipper over comb. If I had one option clipper and trimmer, a wahl cordless senior, and a babyliss Gold fx skeleton trimmer.

Greetings Sean I'm struggling to connect the top to the 2guard close, so I would like to know if saturating the hair then cut it with a shear then clipper over comb is the best (or,and) easy way to connect the 2guard close to the top
I usually just use a larger guard and go through that edge until it blends. 4, 3, 2 then fade under

When I need to leave the crown longer, or more length in top meaning you need weight for the length to sit on. Short basic cuts I use a guard and blend to the top

I do! I definitely try to keep it simple in kids. Their hair is a little tougher to blend

Usually start in the middle and then close it if I need to.

Do you ever keep the blade flat and on an angle while cutting or are you always flicking out?
Depends. When the clipper is closed it’s more flat against the head. When it’s open and trying to blend it’s more of a c stroke, or corner work.

1.5 open or closed? Also, I have a hard time with the fringe. Like with a combover fade with long fringe. The sides are blended but when it gets to the front area ( the fringe) there is a drastic drop from short to long and is not blended. I also have a hard time with blending in the sides with long hair on top. Hope to hear from you soon. I Appreciate your content 🤙🏾
