I tend to do that thing they do in the anime when they play their cards. You know the one. Like, when they Set their cards they do the big swing with their arm and the card is perfectly in place. I do that. It looks so silly but it feels badass
another weird habit of mine is that when i summon a monster i like to say i sohken this guy because it sounds like they say sohken on the japanese anime when they are speaking japenese it sounds like the word summon is pronounced sohken also if i fusion summon i say i hyugo sohken because it kinda sounds like that in japanese i also say xez sohken instead of xyz summon again it sounds like they are saying xez instead of xyz but with syncro normal and special i will just say i special or syncro or normal sohken i still use sohken but i just use the regular word for special and syncro and normal
I tend to narrate my plays as if I'm in the anime, I just think its good manners to explain what your doing and why rather than muttering "effect, pop, chain, eff, ect"
Ronan Carter good job sir. I don't understand all the yugioh slang, I would much prefer it if someone just used the actual terms to describe their plays.
I have the tendency to draw like how they do it in the anime where u swing ur arm after picking up the card. This caused me to hit my friend who was watching in the nose and blood went all over my mat
Yeah, although I have gotten my friend's DD deck to triple digit life points before, I just want to prove to myself that I can beat it before the new Link monster rule set becomes official
One weird habit that i can remember of the top of my head is that i like checking my backrow constantly even if i already know what it is, i dont want to forget that a card is there when i need it. Other is that i don't like my opponent cutting my deck, i can do it myself (i like to take a lot of care with my cards) thank you very much.
That's what sleeves are for, in a competitive environment if you refuse to allow your opponent to cut your deck that's not only fairly suspect but also makes you look so stuck, if you actually have the same explanation, thay any chance of having a fun game is thrown out the window.
i like to shuffle my main deck into my opponent's main deck and make him (or in those rare cases, her) separate the decks. it's the best when me and my opponent have the same sleeves.
One of my things is that I believe in the Heart of the Cards. What I mean by that is that decks have personality. For example, if I change one card in the deck, my deck will tell me if I likes that card or not. Usually its a not. What happens is, I will brick every hand, and NEVER see the card I put in. And before I made the change, the deck was running fine.
That actually makes sense. I do that too without even noticing. Basically, my deck likes Summoner Monk, BLS at 3, Chaos Sorcerer at 2, a Dark Magical Circle, an Eternal Soul(because I don't have more copies), and it's actually gracious about me testing new cards and their synergy with the deck, but if it doesn't work at all, it'll make me brick. I pretty much am stuck with running all light and dark monsters in that deck, and it's a good thing those have good monsters lol 😂😂😂 but it's working better than ever, my weird DM Chaos hybrid deck. Though, certain spells it likes in the side deck most of the time. Like Spell Shattering arrow, and stuff like that. I feel like spell shattering arrow is actually undervalued in some ways, because even though it destroys your spells too, it deals your opponent 500 damage for each spell destroyed.
I can relate to the whole being exhausted thing. Recently I had to face our regional champion in a mirror match. I managed to beat him 2-0. But I was dead tired afterward.
God at locals yesterday every single god damn time I played a card, my opponent would check all 4 of his face down cards 3 friggen times. Normal summon? (checks all sets once...twice..) activate pendulum scales (checks) pendulum summon (checks twice) synchro summon (checks) battle phase (checks). So annoying. 3/4 out of them were normal spells.
My habit is that I have complete faith in my opponent to not cheat, so if I don't know a card effect I'll usually just go with what they say and not ask to read their card. I hate when my opponent does things that could distract me; I'm easily distracted and I have trouble focusing. On top of that, I usually won't ask them to stop because I want to avoid conflict
I have this habit (especially in tournaments) where I say aloud the different phases as I enter them. I don't know why, and I don't even know I'm doing it most of the time, until a friend or, sometimes, my opponent points it out to me.
I could be mistaken but I thought in the rulebook it says that you're supposed to announce phases and card effects, not just assume the opponent knows what's going through your head.
My weird Yugioh habit is more outside the game. I go out of my way to be more helpful and nice to build up karma before the event. I try to be nice anyway, but I'm moreso just before sneaks.
I use some epic dialogue in my duels. When i summon a monster I point to the heavens and shout. When i play a spell, I'm actually CASTING a spell. When i play a trap, I laugh maniacally!! BWAHAHAHA!!!! Last but not least, when i lose a duel i scream something like "ARGHH MY DRAGONBALLZ!!!!" and throw myself out of my chair knocking everything over. Pretty fun stuff. I am always a good sport and love a good duel. also Every time i duel... it's a shadow duel. BWAHAHAHA!!!!!!
I have a habit of mega shuffling like you lot do. But I also have a habit like in the anime where they draw like the next card is the game charger and it's funny to do.
i don't know if you've seen them but there are banned cards that you can literally activate by yelling "IM FEELING THE FLOW!" and i want that in a tournament so badly
DragonBallDuelist I see what you are talking about like that magic zexal card(I forgot the name )it let you summon a number without restrictions and the magic become an overlay unit and it's a 3 card combo I only remember the last part of their name first hope/miracle let you shout zexal field(if your lp is inferior than your opponent and is destroyed this turn next turn you draw what you want)- the magic card- Hope/miracle(if a utopia(ray or victory) is on the field you can atk directly and if the attack is successful you win the duel automatically)
My weird Yu-Gi-Oh habits~ - I've been told that when I play, my face becomes emotionless and that's super weird b/c normally I'm really animated. I don't know why either?? B/c I have lots of fun playing and really enjoy it. - Also, I have to have my extra deck in order from highest rank/level to lowest rank/level, XYZ to Synchro to Fusion. Then I need to have my side deck in order from Monster to Spell to Trap. - I mean I shuffle my hand to high heaven ... But most ppl do ... - ooh!! I have to see my graveyard at all times, so I will always have it fanned out. Even if I have no need for my graveyard (like if I'm playing some old school kind of deck) and it usually takes up 3/5s of my Spell/Trap card zones. That's about it for me ^.^ I really LOVE the long videos!! Great vid xD
Usually when I play Yugioh (just started), I quote a mixture of Kaiba and Yusei because they were a big part of my childhood. If it shows how big of a fanboy of those two I am, I have multiple signatures from Kaiba’s VA as well as a blue eyes page in my binder. I also have a page of just Yusei’s cards.
talk for years i love it! It loosens you up and the story time that follows is that much more enjoyable. Weird habits? I'll talk to the cards. Like if a particular card is sitting there trolling me I'll have a full fledged one sided conversation with it
Hmm...I suppose my main "weird" habits I have are color-coded sleeves for my cards. I sleeve all my main deck and side deck cards in white, fusions in silver, synchros in red, and xyz in black. I also sort all my extra deck cards by archetype, so for instance if I'm playing X-sabers, all the X Saber synchros will be together in the extra deck, and all the generic stuff will be separate.
My habit is arranging my cards in a certain order when I'm deck building online. I did that with a Majespecter/Odd-Eyes Magician deck I made over the weekend. -First I put 2 Dragonpit and 2 Dragonvein as the first four cards since they are Normal Pendulums. Then I seperate the arechetypes a bit by putting Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Luster Pendulum, Insight Magician, and Noble Dragon Magician in one row and for the next row of monsters, Majespecters in order by level: Unicorn, 2 Fox, 3 Raccoon, and 3 Cat. -Second is the Spell line up. I put my field spells, Majestic Pegasus, first, then the rest is two Quickplays and three Normal Spells. -For Traps, I place the first five Normal Traps first with one Compulsory and Bottomless at the end, then three Continuous Traps, and finally two Counter Traps. Would that count as an odd Yugioh habit?
I'll often shuffle my hand and then lay it out to the side of the field before making my plays or ending my turn. it's started just because I wanted to practice focus on my field, and because I got accused of cheating because my hand wasn't spread, now it's more just a little mojo I do to get my self focused in an intense moment. also, Im not the most social person in regular time, but in game I will make nonstop puns, jokes, quips, references, and sound effects, because in having fun, and when I say, play monarchs, I'll start making fun of each one. like, "god damned jays, too dark for his own good." or I'll start smacking lips when I summon tiramisu, calling out the "buffet line" when I make plays. oh, but my favorite. "have you got your degree? Because SCHOOL IS IN SESSION! " When playing obedience schooled.
I love team aps discussions ^^ my favorite segment on the channel. happy birth-month Trell. gonna say that in every video that he's in for the rest of September
I cut the deck in thirds, and I keep my extra organized by fusion synchro xyz by level, and I always talk to my opponent except instead of saying end turn I give a thumbs up and I hate when they ask everytime like wtf you think a thumbs up means esp after the 3rd time
I think I do every single thing they mentioned including the rubbing. Also, I tend to organize my deck after a duel. I find it also helps me familiarize myself with my deck more.
+Victor Osegueda It's normally about information. Since a lot of cards search you could in theory watch where that card goes in the hand, I've also been told many people keep the good cards(or a card they are thinking on using) in their hand close to the palm, although I keep mine closest to the right myself.
+Victor Osegueda It's sometimes used as a player's way to "help" think. Sort of like how some people tap their pens/pencils on a table or others shake their legs. I also just enjoy shuffling my hands.
+Victor Osegueda People shuffle for different reasons, personally I shuffle my hand so that when I search a card, it cannot be sniped out of my hand by a Triverr or a Dark Law. Other people may do it as it is a way to lower the chance of looking on tilt, by focussing movement on your hands, it means that your opponent cant see by your body language that you are under pressure.
Victor Osegueda how about the FX that pop 1 from your opponents hand its like their just shuffeling their hand hoping you miss their maxx c or something
Probably a weird habit is I'm always rehearsing a possible deck profile not because I expect to get profiled because my deck is good or anything but I play some decks that no one sees like Chain Beat specifically. Another is probably after every time I shuffle I cut my deck and then set it down for my opponent to cut it
I declare certain things with drawn out, exaggerated monologues when I summon a big monster like in the anime. Also I tell my opponent my backrow and what's in my hand for mind games :P
3:42. I'm reminded of that Geiko commercial with Willie Nelson. "You got to know when to hold em. Know when to fold em. Know when to walk away." I can imagine him doing that an annoying the hell out of his opponent.
I don't have many habits during play, but when I'm done for any given amount of time, I have to sort my deck out. I have a very specific way that I like to have a couple of my decks sorted out, and it drives me crazy when they aren't right. I've sat at locals after an event once as the store was about to close sorting my deck out before I left. Helps me know if I'm missing any cards, need new sleeves, or have something where it shouldn't belong.
I have certain ratio of each card type so before the shuffle I order deck by the ratio to ensure after both of us shuffle my deck it is fair and more likely to vary in type instead of drawing consistent spells and traps and not getting monsters
My extra deck is always ordered in a very specific way, for example my blue-eyes deck at the front I have my 2 blue eyes ultimates followed by my bro blue eyes, five headed dragon and my two first of dragons, I then have blue eyes spirit, my 3 azure eyes, number 107 and hieratic sun dragon overlord of Heliopolis. It's not ordered by level by more so by power, relevance to the archetype and personal preference (which is why my blue eyes fusions are in front of my five headed dragon) my blue eyes ultimate is at the front because it was a gift from a friend a few years ago who I haven't seen for 2 years
I switch mats depending on what deck I'm gonna play. Certain decks look better on different spellgrounds. I have a dark blue Spellground for my Nekroz while for Satellarknight I have White with a brown-ish undertone spellground.
I had a Yugi moment at the last locals I went to where I was playing a Red Eyes deck and my opponent was a kid with his mom behind him (he’s just getting into the game playing with a starter deck). Well I pulled out Red Eyes alone (kind of going easy on him to give him a confidence boost), and after the duel, he said something about wanting to get a Red Eyes of his own, so I pulled one out of my deck and gave it to him, then showed him my deck and after the locals were over gave him a deck list build of what cards he needs and structure decks he can get them in, etc. Next time I saw him he had a solid red eyes deck and I was proud. I faced him with my blue eyes deck. Sorry that wasn’t a habit, it was just a wholesome moment I wanted to share lol.
One thing that I do, and quite a few others do, is that I constantly look at my set cards and graveyard to remember where everything is. If I don't I'm always afraid I'll flip the wrong card, and I've done that before.
My habits are: Playing the game: Bluffing: When I am in a dire situation and draw a mirror force. I will sigh, roll my eyes, set it, and pass. Also, if I am going to lose that turn and my opponent is about to start attacking. I will put my hand on one of my set cards as if Im gonna use it. Outside Locals: Whenever I do or am about to accomplish something, I will sometimes say "Dave! I got it!" (Dave is the judge at my locals) Whenever I'm saying "Hold on, hold on" I will right after should "Holden!" The way Dave calls it when saying the brackets.
My weird thing is, I always organize my main deck. I play herald so I put it as the three heralds on top, then normal monsters, the manju followed by the other effect monsters by level, then spells by ritual spells then what I play in three, then one, then what I play at two.
After watching the anime my weird habits are either: I swing my arm out wide whenever I play a spell or trap, and/ or pull my hand towards my body with my hand closed when I made a good play
I have a bad habit of checking my backrow constantly. Like not even really paying attention to what im looking at, i literally just quickly flip the card in my general direction and put it back down. Sometimes if a continuous is face up on my field i will check the backside of it as well and then i just end up looking like a moron.
+The visitor101 It's like if you're playing Dolls and you open up Shaddolls and Clowns. All you really need at that point is a fusion spell and that hand is more than playable and you can potentially plus off of it.
My habits are when I am in between matches, I always shuffle until the match starts, I am always looking at my hand and shuffling that too and when it comes to my Extra/Side deck, the cards must be in a specific order. Lowest Level/Rank to highest, lowest rarity to highest and the different type of spells and traps must be separated. When I place down a card, I always put it so the back of the card faces my opponent and sorta...let it fall onto the table. Also, Trell, I sing to my opponent too xD
After the second round if it's 1-1, I kiss the top of me deck for good mojo. For good hand flavored mojo. Keep the long videos up. It's a good sit down and watch kind of deal. I also have them lay in the background when I duel online, kind of like a podcast kind of thing.
Bad habits: 1) Hand shuffle. I hate it and I hate people who do it. Something about the habit makes it spread. I usually put my hand down sideways over my extra zone when I'm not playing from it. 2) Ticks and tells. People at locals know when I'm gonna make a big play by how I play with my facial hair or dart my eyes. Odd Habits: 1) Zone OCD. Have to place everything perfect. 2) Extra arrangements. I have specific order for the side and extra deck. 3) Mr. Satan. I carry a deck mascot figurine and put him up during a match. Makes a heated duel more friendly for some reason. 4) Counter glass. I have about 25 glass beads to keep track of persistient attack boosts instead of dice. They also work as tokens. I play U.A. so it helps my opponent too.
I talk my moves out before I make them. Obviously not to my opponent but quietly under my breath, I feel like it helps me catch mistakes in my plays before I make them.
One of my habits is I constantly flick/feel the front of my deck along the sleeves to make sure they are still facing the "correct" way (card entrance side towards me). It gets annoying because it wears out the sleeves a lot faster. It does get annoying when my opponent shuffles his hand constantly. It could be a tactic though to get me off my game which in most cases all competitiors are always trying to get an edge over their opponents.
It's true that in a good main deck deck, bad hands are not necessarily bad hands, but there's just times where you get a bad hand, the next 5 or more cards are nothing you can work with and unless your opponent does something to maybe shuffle your deck or allow you to get some form of combo rolling, there won't be anything happening on your side from that point on.
As for my habits, I have a hard time keeping track of everything so I when I don't recognize a card I usually ask my opponent to let me read the effect and as a result I myself have a habit of explaining the effects to my opponent as I play so they can kind of double-check me and don't necessarily have to ask what they do or why I'm doing it. Not with the same kind of enthusiasm as in the Anime more in a matter-o-fact way like "I activate Mirror Force which destroys all of your monsters in attack position" or "Because it destroyed a monster by battle this turn, I can tribute Horus LV6 to special summon Horus LV8 from my deck".
my weird habits: 1. after every match I reorganize my deck like I'm making a deck list. 2. I change my deck choice almost every time I pick up my deck. 3. no matter how short or long a round is when I go up against someone I have to smoke right after I have the same problem after I eat something. 4. I misplay alot cuz i forget that I have a certain card to stop a play and don't realize it til next turn or after the duel cuz when I'm dueling someone I think of other things usually. I'm an odd duelist but I still have fun even if I lose
I have a really bad habit of standing up when I have nothing in my hand, checking my back row after everything, making sure my extra deck is from highest to lowest level/rank, putting my hand in a pile and putting it down during my opponent's turn, and when I draw my hand turn one I put it in a diamond on the table.
I wouldn't say it's weird, but if I think my opponent has an MST I will make sure to think about responding to everything by looking at one specific card (usually something like an E. Con or Lance) to protect my actually good backrow. It works ridiculously often. Also, I'm completely fine with the hand shuffling too. If my opponent doesn't shuffle their hand I tend to shuffle my hand faster than normal, weirdly.
Don't know if it counts as weird (although a lot would consider it dumb) but I remind my opponents of all the moves they could make. If a card has an effect that can activate in the end phase for example when they say they are ending their turn I will let them know. "Aren't you going to get that card back to your hand/field?" Things like that I don't know why but I just do it and I always do if I remember they can do something like that.
I don't shuffle my hand rather I cycle through it. I also do the constant questioning of cards in hand. I can't help but check my grave before drawing in my draw phase. I always check my bottom card after each game, i don't actually know why.
I think the only weird habit I have is color coding my decks according to the theme or attribute. For example, my Fire decks (Fire Fist, Fire King, Battlin' Boxers) are in red sleeves, and my Light decks (Bujin, Hieratic, Hunder) are in white sleeves. Other than that, I would say I'm a pretty normal player. I can say that there are certain things that irritate me, such as when my opponent puts their main deck in the zone of where their graveyard should be, and visa versa. In those cases, I sometimes swap my monster card zones with my spell/trap card zones.
This video came out two years ago on my birthday ^^ recently I've been getting back into the game, but I feel my strange habit would be.....Well when I was playing it when I was younger (3rd 4th grade) and I ran I would say a pretty decent synchron deck, I used to do EVERYTHING like it was the anime. Like I would copy and paste yuseis strategies. But my definite favorite habit, would be when I use shooting star dragon I go "DORO MONSTAH CARDO" and I didn't care how the other kids looked at me, considering a good majority of my friends played it with me so we had our own section of the room during recess for Yu-Gi-Oh! Only. The good old days
Also, due to my recent falling in love with this again, it brought me to this channel, I thank you for making all these vids, very entertaining and helpful, I hope you have a great day and don't have to duel against a shaddoll lightsworn hybrid deck like I had to yesterday x.x
One of my weirdest habits is that I always have to make sure that my cards are in line and structured like they should be in zones. I'll always just sit there after summoning/setting and just make sure they're all in zones. I'm slightly OCD about that. Sometimes I'll tense my jaw or just twiddle my beard hair if I'm thinking for some plays.
At the start of the game, I take and swap the bottom and top card of my opponents deck, cut it, then do that again before beginning. Throughout the game, I just take the bottom and top 2 and move them to the center of the deck
I like the longer vids! That being said when I am backed into a corner it looks like I'm doing nothing as if I was a statue then out of no where (Provided I figured out how to turn the duel around and if I have the cards for it) Usually takes about 2-5 minutes to do so I end up making a come back. Analyzing multiple ways to go about my turn at the same time. But if I determine that there is no reason to continue I will scoop. People had called me an idiot for it when they see what I should do but I simply explain to them that it wouldn't work as my field would be ruined on my opponent's turn. People might see it as slow playing but in reality I'm not.
I'm guilty of holding my hand in a stack fashion in my hand, if I have anything left in my hand after my first turn. lol I'm a question asker, constantly asking about your hand and graveyard as well as card effects I have no idea about
9:25. Yep, other people do that too. I'm one of 'em =P Also when I draw my starting hand I tend to just try to cut 5 cards off the top of my deck. Usually I nail it, but a couple of times at locals I've accidentally picked up 6 and not realized it until I looked at them. I'm much more careful about that now though
I love this long videos!!! And I don't like that my opponent shuffles my deck, at my locals no one shuffles my deck cuz' they know. Cuz' I think that people will give me bad luck and give me bad hand.
i tend to drop my cards aggressively yet handle my opponents with the utmost care like they are made out of glass or some thing like touching edges of sleeves with two fingers while mine are just full hand slam
i tend to hum to myself while i play, sometimes i feel terrible because i start humming final fantasy victory music while my deck is going off, i also cant shut up while playing i feel a lot more comfortable in a tournament format if im socializing with my opponent
My weirdest habit is having the most confusing way to shuffle my Deck. I'll just describe it the long way so, if anyone wants to read an essay, feel free to do so. First I'll explain a thing: a phase is a part of the whole shuffle which can consist of many different things. With that out of the way, I'll explain: Phase 1: The first thing I do is three Hindu Shuffles followed by taking about the middle third of the Deck out and weaving those cards between the top and bottom halves, which I put together normally. I repeat that whole process three times. Phase 2: this is where I Hindu Shuffle about three to four packets before weaving the bottom half into the other half of the Deck. This is also done three times. Phase 3: I cut the Deck into three piles, then weave the top and bottom ones together before weaving the middle one in. This is done just once. Phase 4: This phase is the same as phase 1, just that I finish with a cut of the Deck. I know, its confusing af, its just something I picked up because I think it helps me not brick as often. In another point of view, this is so confusing my opponent might think I'm trying to stack, so I don't like to Duel IRL much and instead opt to go with correspondence Duels over Tumblr.
I can't do the hand shuffle fast either so I do the corner flick too haha. I also hate when I give my opponent my deck to cut and they just sit there and shuffle it.A shuffle is not a cut by definition and it's not that I can even shuffle stack but it just bugs me that they are taking liberties with my deck haha idk.
Also before I shuffle for next match I'm that guy who has to have his arrange his deck so it goes monster then trap/spell even though it's going to get messed up in the shuffle in my mind it's better XD
For me my deck uses 2 stategies being either the dark strategy(cards in my deck to do with dark attribute/fiend type monsters)or the krawler strategy(cards to do with krawler, world legacy/chalice and mekk-knights)and no matter how much my deck wants me to use the dark strategy i always end up finishing with the krawler strategy(i would use all krawler strategy but i still don't have all the cards for it*i have all cards for krawlers exept deus x-krawler,i have 9 world legacies 3 world chalices and 1 mekk-knight being green horizon)
As for me, I got 2. 1 - I have to shuffle the deck until there's a monster in the front of the deck, or else it bugs the living shit out of me. 2 - I split my monsters, spells, and traps, shuffle them in really good, then make sure that there's no "backrow pockets" (more than 2-3 backrow in between monsters) before I leave the house to go duel somewhere. I let my opponent cut as much as they want. I just hate shitty draws. Oh yeah, I also have my extra deck from lowest atk to highest, and the ones that tie up I judge by def. Ties in that regard are judged by level/rank, and if those tie, by effect and potency.
I always try to avoid moving my monsters and set spell and traps around on the field and I find it annoying when other people do even if it is to make more room on there mat or something. I guess it is because there are several cards that what exact card zone they are in matter like alien infiltrator but I don't actually play those cards so it is odd. I also constantly check my extra deck even though I know what is in there and can't make anything at the time.
One weird habit I do with yu-gi-oh cards and more or less any card like thing. I like to do tricks with them, like flutter them around, flick them into the air a small bit and catch them. I'm a cardist and a magician, which even my friends don't really trust me whenever we play anything that involves cards because they know that I can easily cheat (I don't) and they know that I know that that I know how to cheat and how to get away with it. So like flutters and fancy flourishes are a force of habit because I'm into cardistry, which is doing fun tricks and cool displays of cards. It' not magic, just cool little tricks.
My tendencies are that when I played back then, I slow down the game when my opponent is playing really fast. It's not that I'm annoyed by his fast pace, I just feel like I should compensate for how long the game/match should last. I don't like it when I get to meet someone, play them, and then 2 minutes later we've played 3 duels and say goodbye. I like to get to know people who play the game and know what kind of person they are, I'd make small talk at every turn. some people apparently get annoyed the hell out of that behaviour.. which is weird cause it's a social game as well.
Well, my "weird" yugioh habit is kinda i just have to read my cards again, even if i already did it, and i think this became like this since that time when i was on a "friendly-no prize" tourney on school and i get to 2nd place winning almost all of my duels with the same card, and then they find out that i win the semi-final duels cuz i was using the old errata of a King Tiger Wanghu and i should have to used the new errata effect and no matter how much i read that card they keep saying that Wanghu's effect wasn't working like my version of the card anymore. And by that moment i stop even using my side deck on any yugioh tournament but thanks to a friend i got over the shock of that tourney (and also he gave me a Wanghu card with the new errata as a gift). In a few words, I developed a kind of "phobia" to the errata cards and since then i must read all my cards only by the scare of the text of the card to become wrong for a new errata.
I always accidentally put my grave facedown and it bugs me. Also sometimes i say set in defense even though I'm setting a trap/spell. Idk why but it just always slips out
i always have to keep all my decks an even number and the number of monsters i have i allways mach them with my traps and spells like an example is if its an ordinary say dragon deck of 40 i have to have 20 monsters 10 traps and 10 spells and after im done dueling for the day i will organize my decks spell - monster - trap - monster and have my favorite monster at the bottom of my deck
I ALWAYS check my set cards, like constantly. Even if I know what they all are, even if I don't have anything to respond to, I keep repeatedly picking them up and looking at them.
I don't know if it's my karma, or what Paul does, but recently, I've been playing at a few locals around my area, and with all my wins, my opponents always get mad and say they brick hand, literally. However, no one sees to understand me when I say Juragedo and Maxx C are amazing this format main-decked in Heros, even against Igknights. However, if I do get Top 4 at least, I always pull crap, I think the only card good I pulled was a Chicken Game, and it's just a habit recently over the past month I have noticed. I'd say my two main bad habits of Yugioh are to keep asking players what they think of my deck, just so they don't think I'm half decent, and saying my decklist around at random times a bit loud.
I tend to do that thing they do in the anime when they play their cards.
You know the one.
Like, when they Set their cards they do the big swing with their arm and the card is perfectly in place.
I do that.
It looks so silly but it feels badass
AMEN
Thats the Only way to play bitches!!
*DORO! MONSTA KADO!*
Princely G same
Princely G I do the same shit, my cousin rags on me all the time
I had a Qli player as opponent that made spaceship noises.
That was so cute.
+The Potatoe Fairy i had one do that as well (i do it sometimes with kozmo though hahaha)
I like mimicking the sound of Life Points decreasing from the Anime, even though I have never watched more than a few episodes. 😂
i like using decks that have been on the anime and when i summon a monster i like to mimick the sound they make on the show especially the raidraptors
another weird habit of mine is that when i summon a monster i like to say i sohken this guy because it sounds like they say sohken on the japanese anime when they are speaking japenese it sounds like the word summon is pronounced sohken also if i fusion summon i say i hyugo sohken because it kinda sounds like that in japanese i also say xez sohken instead of xyz summon again it sounds like they are saying xez instead of xyz but with syncro normal and special i will just say i special or syncro or normal sohken i still use sohken but i just use the regular word for special and syncro and normal
id do that with cosmos
I tend to narrate my plays as if I'm in the anime, I just think its good manners to explain what your doing and why rather than muttering "effect, pop, chain, eff, ect"
Ronan Carter good job sir. I don't understand all the yugioh slang, I would much prefer it if someone just used the actual terms to describe their plays.
You sound like a fun opponent!
I do that to
Preach! I do that instinctively just so my opponent knows what's going on.
David In lol I feel like everyone does that as watching the anime
I have the tendency to draw like how they do it in the anime where u swing ur arm after picking up the card. This caused me to hit my friend who was watching in the nose and blood went all over my mat
White American Male yeah. It was pretty good
O gosh... Poor mat, you had to clean that blood :/
Alex Arellano Well...it was a paper mat. It was my favourite one
Bet it looked cool afterwards, though.
Omg when I still had a duel disk I was all about the anime draw!!
Tbh i can listen to you guys talk for hours keep this vids coming
I have a weird habit of losing anybody else do that?
same
Yeah, although I have gotten my friend's DD deck to triple digit life points before, I just want to prove to myself that I can beat it before the new Link monster rule set becomes official
mine is usually self inflicted.... i play the most bs decks possible just for lulz.
Andy Molina lol
Andy Molina I'm new so same I only started almost a year ago
One weird habit that i can remember of the top of my head is that i like checking my backrow constantly even if i already know what it is, i dont want to forget that a card is there when i need it.
Other is that i don't like my opponent cutting my deck, i can do it myself (i like to take a lot of care with my cards) thank you very much.
That's what sleeves are for, in a competitive environment if you refuse to allow your opponent to cut your deck that's not only fairly suspect but also makes you look so stuck, if you actually have the same explanation, thay any chance of having a fun game is thrown out the window.
I'm pretty sure that the reason why they have the other person cut the deck is so that they qre sure that they aren't cheating.
if you like their long discussions like this comment (there problem solved team APS)
I always cut my opponents deck into thirds, then stack it middle, top, bottom.
i like to shuffle my main deck into my opponent's main deck and make him (or in those rare cases, her) separate the decks. it's the best when me and my opponent have the same sleeves.
+kanyewest315 LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's mean
Omg dude, so fucked up XD such a savage lol
Godamn mate, made mi spill my drink hahaha
lol
One of my things is that I believe in the Heart of the Cards. What I mean by that is that decks have personality. For example, if I change one card in the deck, my deck will tell me if I likes that card or not. Usually its a not. What happens is, I will brick every hand, and NEVER see the card I put in. And before I made the change, the deck was running fine.
Minecrafting Mew weeb
Do you have to be mean?
Minecrafting Mew yes
I tend to do that but not as much cause I tend to forget what I have face down pretty easily
I do it once maybe twice during my opponents turn
Liender 96 i do that alot to change the way my opp plays
That's not a very effective strategy by any means
It works very well imo
My habit is that I have complete faith in my opponent to not cheat, so if I don't know a card effect I'll usually just go with what they say and not ask to read their card.
I hate when my opponent does things that could distract me; I'm easily distracted and I have trouble focusing. On top of that, I usually won't ask them to stop because I want to avoid conflict
I have this habit (especially in tournaments) where I say aloud the different phases as I enter them. I don't know why, and I don't even know I'm doing it most of the time, until a friend or, sometimes, my opponent points it out to me.
That's a good thing in my opinion.
Jai The Faunus I wish more people did this honestly, makes everything way less confusing
+Boltizar49 That's interesting. :3
I am always a good sport and love a good duel.
also
Every time i duel... it's a shadow duel. BWAHAHAHA!!!!!!
You're pretty dramatic tbh
Not Gaming shut up nick
I always count my deck and check if I didnt lost any card.
and btw funny vid!
and once again happy birthmonth Trell!
I have a habit of mega shuffling like you lot do.
But I also have a habit like in the anime where they draw like the next card is the game charger and it's funny to do.
Gotta get that DESTINY DRAW!!!
+Team APS Can't believe you replied! Sweet!
Top Deck power!
i don't know if you've seen them but there are banned cards that you can literally activate by yelling "IM FEELING THE FLOW!" and i want that in a tournament so badly
My weird Yu-Gi-Oh habits~
- I've been told that when I play, my face becomes emotionless and that's super weird b/c normally I'm really animated.
Happy birth-month Trell by the way!! ^.^
Jacqueline I do the exact same with my extra deck you do with yours and same with the side deck
Jacqueline game face is on
ik its a hassle to do videos together but i like it when you do discussions with trell. Happy Birth Month!
Same. Especially with Yusei since I'm currently watching through the 5D's arc.
talk for years i love it!
Idgaf what my little brother comments on you videos ignorantly without watching your content. Yall are my favorite yugitubers. Team APS is the shit!
this is when i play on an online engine, i always, after i edit, download, make a new deck, sort evry card then save.... #OCD
I don't even play yugioh anymore but it's interesting seeing y'all talk about a game y'all are passionate about
I love team aps discussions ^^ my favorite segment on the channel.
happy birth-month Trell.
gonna say that in every video that he's in for the rest of September
I like longer videos. In fact, I find that I tend to dislike the shorter ones, especially those "Top #" vids. I'm grateful for these~
I cut the deck in thirds, and I keep my extra organized by fusion synchro xyz by level, and I always talk to my opponent except instead of saying end turn I give a thumbs up and I hate when they ask everytime like wtf you think a thumbs up means esp after the 3rd time
I don't mind the talkin for years ! That's why I watch the channel I enjoy the rants and discussions! Keep it going!
I think I do every single thing they mentioned including the rubbing. Also, I tend to organize my deck after a duel. I find it also helps me familiarize myself with my deck more.
As a raidraptor player I tend to caw alot.
Anthony Graham like a bird
The hand shuffling does bother me.. Like idk what the point of it is.. Maybe it's just a habit to some people
+Victor Osegueda It's normally about information.
*MAX C*
Probably a weird habit is I'm always rehearsing a possible deck profile not because I expect to get profiled because my deck is good or anything but I play some decks that no one sees like Chain Beat specifically. Another is probably after every time I shuffle I cut my deck and then set it down for my opponent to cut it
I declare certain things with drawn out, exaggerated monologues when I summon a big monster like in the anime.
Also I tell my opponent my backrow and what's in my hand for mind games :P
Do you also spend several months doing flashbacks to things, that only happened that morning?
XD
It's not ordered by level by more so by power, relevance to the archetype and personal preference (which is why my blue eyes fusions are in front of my five headed dragon) my blue eyes ultimate is at the front because it was a gift from a friend a few years ago who I haven't seen for 2 years
"I'm a better shaddoll player", toungue flick...
I do the hand shuffle and the little card flick with my hand and my deck. I also get really monotone if I get in an intense duel
One thing that I do, and quite a few others do, is that I constantly look at my set cards and graveyard to remember where everything is. If I don't I'm always afraid I'll flip the wrong card, and I've done that before.
My habits are:
Playing the game:
Bluffing: When I am in a dire situation and draw a mirror force. I will sigh, roll my eyes, set it, and pass. Also, if I am going to lose that turn and my opponent is about to start attacking. I will put my hand on one of my set cards as if Im gonna use it.
Outside Locals:
Whenever I do or am about to accomplish something, I will sometimes say "Dave! I got it!" (Dave is the judge at my locals)
Whenever I'm saying "Hold on, hold on" I will right after should "Holden!" The way Dave calls it when saying the brackets.
I've caught myself speaking to my opponents in a Kaiba voice. I've been told it's pretty good, so now I do it just because.
A bad hand can be fixed by another missing card in the deck, you are absolutely right on that. Good yugioh philosophy to follow up on.
What do you mean ?
Bad habits:
1) Hand shuffle. I hate it and I hate people who do it. Something about the habit makes it spread. I usually put my hand down sideways over my extra zone when I'm not playing from it.
2) Ticks and tells. People at locals know when I'm gonna make a big play by how I play with my facial hair or dart my eyes.
Odd Habits:
1) Zone OCD.
Also, due to my recent falling in love with this again, it brought me to this channel, I thank you for making all these vids, very entertaining and helpful, I hope you have a great day and don't have to duel against a shaddoll lightsworn hybrid deck like I had to yesterday x.x
firstly. trells sang to me during a match. i usually sing over him to help him cause god knows he needs the help.
I'm guilty of holding my hand in a stack fashion in my hand, if I have anything left in my hand after my first turn. lol
I'm a question asker, constantly asking about your hand and graveyard as well as card effects I have no idea about
I do that thing with the card in your hand too, but I always put them on the table.
9:25. Yep, other people do that too. I'm one of 'em =P
Also when I draw my starting hand I tend to just try to cut 5 cards off the top of my deck.
The hand shuffling is an irritating habit that sort of spreads like the plague. I even had to put my hand down to break the habit
I make sound effects based on the card, give monsters nicknames, & do some of the sounds/stuff from the show but only with friends.
My weirdest habit is having the most confusing way to shuffle my Deck. I'll just describe it the long way so, if anyone wants to read an essay, feel free to do so.
First I'll explain a thing: a phase is a part of the whole shuffle which can consist of many different things. With that out of the way, I'll explain:
Phase 1: The first thing I do is three Hindu Shuffles followed by taking about the middle third of the Deck out and weaving those cards between the top and bottom halves, which I put together normally.
In another point of view, this is so confusing my opponent might think I'm trying to stack, so I don't like to Duel IRL much and instead opt to go with correspondence Duels over Tumblr.
right i sometimes forget my effect of my monster , spell and traps do you have the same habit
I always run strategy calculations thru my head. Ex. *opponent summons blue eyes* my brain: counters: trap hole, torrential tribute, etc. Etc
I like to look through my extra deck even when I'm not going to special summon a monster from it. Just to admire the card art.
Happy Birthday Trell. And, lol the shirt change.
Your discussions are always amazing. Keep the good work guys
talk as much as you need you always show me new things thanks !
Whenever I play raigeki or judgement dragon I hold up the card way above the table and drop it. What usually follows is rage.
If i playing ygo.my weird habit is sometimes i looking up to the left.before i move in my turn.i hold my cards is random up to down to my hand.
I ALWAYS check my set cards, like constantly. Even if I know what they all are, even if I don't have anything to respond to, I keep repeatedly picking them up and looking at them.
I've seen people shuffle as they go. For example, they take 2 cards, shuffle them in, take another 2 cards on the field, shuffle, and so on.
I'd say my two main bad habits of Yugioh are to keep asking players what they think of my deck, just so they don't think I'm half decent, and saying my decklist around at random times a bit loud.
also those shirts you have been wearing for the past few videos what does it mean i couldnt find much help on google translate pls reply
