Etapa 4 polimerizarea rasinii epoxidice in cuptor la cc a 95 grade celsius.

A new equipment for wood stabilization and how I used a piece of maple wood full of wood decay for stabilization tests and then to make a handle for an Almazan knife.
I made from gas cylinders, two equipment used in wood stabilization with double functionality. Vacuum chamber and pressure pot.
Those who use such equipment know very well that there are several stages in the stabilization process.
The first stage is drying the wood, cutting and forming the blanks.
Stage 2 involves extracting the air from the wood in the vacuum chamber and introducing the epoxy resin into the wood fiber, and may last 24-48 hours.
Stage 3 involves forcing the resin with the help of air pressure to penetrate as deep as possible into the wood fiber (36-48 hours).
Stage 4 polymerization of the epoxy resin in the oven at 95 degrees Celsius.
For stages 2 and 3, separate vacuum and pressure equipment are generally used, which are quite expensive.
I found the solution to reduce the purchase cost and produce this equipment myself.
The cylinder used withstands 16 bars, but for this application a maximum of 8 bars is needed. A special manometer was chosen to indicate the pressure and the vacuum created in the installation.
I installed an interior lighting system and a vapor filter on the bottle cap.
the capacity of the tank is about 26 liters and with modification it reaches about 20 liters x 2 pieces = 40 useful liters, which is enough.
In the hope that you have found a useful idea for you and your workshop, I wish you all the best.
