I have to be absolutely honest with you, but with myself first and foremost. When I started following this channel, the thing that struck me most (like a sense of fascination), more than the bikes, was the voice (the melody I would say) of the conductor and for a Neapolitan man (Italy) melody is everything ... or almost! But now, it's time to immerse myself in this fantastic world of Cafe Racer and take my wife to "fly" Thank you!
Three things I'm enjoying this morning. First, a tasty strudel made out by my daughter for xmas. Second, remembering the huges and kisses from my three grandsons. Third last but not least this inspirational video in how to aim a Cafe Racer project. And of course I totally agree with the 5 tips. Yesterday while I was returning from pick up my rain suit which I did install some zippers for easy wear I found this small motorcycle reapair shop. Inside my car I had the twisted foot brake pedal of my bike, which I had in order to purchase a brand new one, but for no reason I stopped to see if the young patron can do something about it. He did. With expertise after seeing the kind of material and if is possible work with it, bent to shape the twisted metal and then polished to made it look not just good but great. Later I found that as me, he is a person mad about Cafe Racers and is very competent to weld and shape metal. Repair the pedal cost me 20 pesos to purchase a brand new one 500 pesos. That can make a difference in most of the projects we aim. Which made me ad this 6th tip: found the right people for the right job. After finishing the lay out of your project, you better decide which part of it must be made for professional technicians. Found this help is critical before start any project. Merry Xmas and a very Cafe Racer new year!
+Alejandro Monzon Thank you my friend for sharing your thoughts. Just as i said in the video, Don't worry about your limitations on the project, because time will help you getting solutions. And it seems you already found one. Let the Professionals do the professional work for you. :) Merry Christmas and a happy 2016. Saludos.
I am building a cafe, It spends more time in bits as I am constantly changing it. A young workmate asked where it was after months of on the table. That is when I found out that my other 5 bikes didn't excite him: the cafe does. He is 35 years my junior. This hits the spot so well as Manufacturers make good bikes for everyday owners, but a Cafe is also moving art. I have big plans for mine, but it will take time to get there and this video, as well as my workmates comments really encourage me to speed the process up. Note that I also appreciate the voice; no shouting; great diction; and so easy to listen to.
Often, I go back and re-watch a video, be it for inspiration, or to see a specific application of design. One, I appreciate the professionalism displayed in your videos. Two, I am in awe of the projects that you find that enables others to see and feel what builders around the world are doing. Three, last, but not least, the inspiration gained from these projects allow us to explore new ideas and attempt designs that have not yet been seen or implemented. Thank you for all your time and effort put into these examples of the greatest Café Racers to be found. Your channel, Racer TV, is far better than anything else available within the Café scene. Again, thank you!
+Declog1 You are absolutely right. Some of these tips can be very useful in other life situations. You're very perceptive. :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Cheers.
That's what drew my attention to the bike as odd as that sounds. Going thru these steps in life have me evolving in the present tense as this is all the way out of my wheel house! The world has a funny way of giving clarity to things! And I couldn't be more excited to start his build!!!
Im from the South East Asia, love from the Philippines. I have a Honda Alpha 125 and Im starting to make it a cafe racer. I love it everytime I change or evolve something for my machine friend.
A perfect video for passionate amateurs like me. My computer keeps growing its database of inspirational examples, and the head spinning for the right decisions. Indeed the magic is about being subtle, and smart according to the limitations. But anything is possible :). That silver Drifter... oh yeah, indeed is the Thing!
+Shellie Carlson I'm glad you liked. Try to find on Racer TV main page a playlist with several videos about tips for cafe racer bikes, and i'm sure you will love them all. :) Cheers.
Puxa vida!!!! OBRIGADO! I was having a problem with my business plan for 2016, and last night I decided to sleep on it, knowing that the solution will come. This morning, the solution came in the form of this RacerTV video. 1. Choose the right project (the right business) 2. Look at inspirational examples (case studies) 3. Reverse engineer the process to find out how it works (analysis and synthesis) 4. Judge your work as an impartial bystander (what would someone else/my client think if he saw it?) 5. Evolution (Go over it again, go over it again, go over it again... (I think you get the point) What used to be beautiful yesterday, tomorrow will look dated) Plus Bonus #6 (+Alejandro Morzon) 6. Find the right people for the right job (you cannot do everything yourself and some things you must outsource to the professionals) Thank you... for making RacerTV. P.S. Are you sure you're only talking about bikes here? Because to me, it sounds like a philosophy of success
+Ed said It seems you followed my advice in the video about "the secret of creativity". Lol. And you have just proved it worked. Thank you for all your kind words. Cheers. PS: You are so close to the truth. There are many important things about success, that many people aren't aware of. I love Cafe Racers bikes, and i also love knowing some secrets of the Universe. This way, why not combine these things in some of my videos? :)Congratulations, You are very insightful. Cheers.
Hi . Just purchest a 1982 Honda cm250c for 100.00 dollars. I wanted too get a relativly easy bike to work on, but that doesn't mean i won't try my very best to turn it into something special. Thank you for your classy vidoes , they allow me to see what is possible !!! Thanks.
Very good tips.. I'm looking to convert my Royal Enfield into a Scrambler and watching this video gave me confidence and insight to building one.. Thank you
Great video. I struggle with what looks good and what's comfortable. I want to ride my bike all the time to work and even all day for those great weather weekends. Most bikes that look amazing are just art and not practical to actually ride for hours on end. I also love the function of a rack on the back. They look terrible but are so handy for bring lunch to work or groceries home from the store. I would love for you to find a bike that fits this category. A beautiful work of art that is comfortable and functional for taking lunch along. I don't know know if it exists, and I've looked a good deal.
Neither looks nor comfort are important for a real café-racer. Handling, stability, cornering ability, sticky tyres, strong braking, and performance (not brute force, but what you need to pull out first of the curves) are what matters first. Samewise seating position and commands are not for looks and comfort, but to get a good weight distribution and control over the bike in twisties. Then, when it's able to do what café-racers are for, beating the shit out of your buddies between cafés and on twisty roads, you can think about aesthetics and comfort if they don't break what matters... :-)
RACER TV Hello again!I personally wanna build my own custom cafe racer and i need an opinion..and in this channel your opinion is really matters to me..i am between two models:the HONDA CB125 twin and the HONDA CX500...my questions are: which one is easier for a first build, could i combine these two models and last but not least..is it a good idea to design my own bike from scratch?Without showing of,i am quite good at designing, but i really wanna listen to your piece of advice!I have some rough sketches that i could show u
Thanks a lot for the tips. I think the point of trying to extract what makes other peoples' projects so great is essential to finding out what you need to do. I can't wait to do a cafe build from the ground up.
you know I usually hear the computer voice and dump the video … But damn the way this cat writes his script is mind-blowingly good and keeps me here. great job and ty for engaging us on a personal level with an automated platform I'm blown away really that it an be done. wish id found this channel sooner!
I am not into Cafe Racer bikes, but truly appreciate the art of the craft displayed by this fine video for that style of bike. Could you PLEASE make a similar video about adventure motorcycles ?
+DARIVS ARCHITECTVS Thank you for your kind words. I already tried some different bikes like scramblers for instance, but the videos didn't had the success i was expecting. I think most Viewers of this Channel are more interested in seeing only Cafe Racers. But thanks for your suggestion. Cheers.
I want to rate you sir as 11 out of 10, you are always changing my mode in building classic bikes and keep going, thank you very much for your all inspiring videos
racer TV ! oh what a lovely things you people are doing, I am just thrilled with each episode of yours, love you guys for all what you did. I am dreaming cafe racer for the past few years and here is my good time I came across your TH-cam video, thanks a ton folks, you are giving the shape n confidence to my dream to be a reality soon. thanks, Bala.
i find your video's very inspirational and i am glad you take the effort to make such calm and understandable videos for everyone who is out there looking for a building project in the future! I am a big fan, and to you aswell, a merry Christmas and a happy newyear :)
RACER TV I've had my eye on a Honda cb400 it's been sitting out in the elements for quite sometime. The owner is no longer living and his nephew is now the owner. He says he's been offered $900. What would be reasonable.?
Frank Martinez Well, depends of the state of the motor, or the usual value in your Country. Check on Ebay or other websites, and verify the average value of the Cb 400.
Unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real American voice in one of my videos, but things didn't work as I expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non-English natives. Cheers.
@@RACER_TV Have you considered turning up the voice software up to ~1.35 speed. At first I could not stand the speed of the audio but recently started watching your videos at 1.25 or 1.50 times speed and it made it MUCH better. You can still tell it is robotic but the pacing is closer. Either way, thanks for making the videos.
What a great vid Racer,,,Haha even tho im a full fairing fan,,,,i picked up a 1982 CB 125 for my fiancee and after showing her your vids shes letting me start my first CAFE RACER project!!!! Thanks so much for the inspiration and the guidance to SPARK such a project.... Keep Safe Racer,,,,,.,,,,DEREK......
amazing how your videos are exciting and engaging ... it's always a thrill to see feelings. always start talking about "welcome to racertv" and stop me goodbye repeating your words haha. good a Christmas and a happy new year here from Brazil.
Sir your videos have been a big inspiration for me, ive got absolutely no knowledge in mechanics or bike modifications but somehow i feel very confident and believe i can create an efficient and good looking cafe racer thanks to your motivational videos, im educating myself now on cafes and motorcycle maintenance so that ill be ready when I start my project , thank you sir, keep em coming! saludos y buenos deseos amigo!
My favourite channel . Been looking for years for the the perfect bike since selling my CB125N back in 99. your videos give me much inspiration .

+Fernando Carreiro Muito obrigado caríssimo amigo Fernando.
I was looking on Craigslist a few nights ago, (if you aren't familiar with that its a website where you can sale your items) and came across a beautiful CB125S. Only wanted $1200 for it and I ALMOST went and bought it. Cant get over how nice your bike is.
+Jason Michael Thank you my friend for your kind words. But i must advise you, try to buy a Cb 125 with a twin engine. the engine sound and the high rpms are so much better than the S model. Believe me. :) Good luck. Cheers.
Merry Xmas to you too, great video as always) what is the name of the bike that you show 3:09 (a213r) can't find this beauty online, please help) and hope to see you next year) thanks
+Francisco Antonio Muito obrigado amigo.
You did not fail, another excellent episode of racer tv. it's not past midnight on December 25th in Claremore, Ok. U.S.A. So let me wish you, feliz Natal e Feliz Ano Novo.
Hi. I find this channel by mistake. and when I see the first video I was very impressed. that video changes my vision of that. bike's now in looking for one to start my own project. Thanks. and keep doing that great job. Merry Christmas to all...
+Diego Morales Thank you my friend for sharing you story. I like knowing that my videos are being helpful. :) Thank you, and Marry Chrismas for you too. Cheers.
Boas!
The timing was right for this video. Im currently building a café bike and the design/configuring stage is tough! Merry Christmas sir, I hope you had a blessed one!
Sensacionais os seus vídeos. Aprendendo muitas coisas.
Real good advice,...and indeed i have a few pictures of beautiful bikes on my computer 😅!I have to say this video was a nice start of Christmas, i'll be daydreaming of my perfect bike all day now. Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too and the rest of the bike lovers here 👍😆.
I’m old and I’m a racer... There’s a difference between making it pretty and being able to ride it . If you make it . scratch out all the shit you don’t need and add all the shit you do . Ride it beat the shit out of every bike you come in to contact with if you fail to win you need to upgrade. Keep doing that until your bike and you as the rider can’t be beat and then stand back and look at the bike . I guarantee you that will be the most awesome beautiful bike you had pictured in the back of your mind. And you can be proud of.
Hello Sir. I understand and respect what your said. But your vision about what a real Cafe Racer has to be, is not accepted by everybody. I already talked about that matter in other videos. Personaly, I think nowadays the original purpose of old/new motorcycles customized like the original Cafe Racers, does not make sense anymore. If we follow the pure perspective of those Cafe Racers, we would end with something similar to a modern Yamaha R1. And this means that this rebirth of the "cafe racer" scene, must have a different approach. :) But thank you for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
Beautiful bikes!! Had to subscribe. I just recently (2weeks ago)purchased a project bike. It's a 1978 Kawasaki KZ650D. My plan is to build it during winter. I love cafe racers because the builds are so unique and real unlike a lot of other bike builds. Thanks for sharing. I hope to have pictures of my motorcycle gracing somebody's screen someday.
This is a good video on how to generally build a good bike. I may not a have a racer but I just finished my underbone mods, this helped a lot. tnx for the great vid
Hello my friend, I'm watching this yet again as I find inspiration in pretty much every one of your video's (but you already know that). Once again you offer excellent advice, and not only knowledge, but extremely good taste. My current project is a renovation of a GXS750F 1992, I'm told the first generation of these are going to be a modern classic (?). Following this I'm going to try something new, a "Street Tracker ", (please don't think I'm a traitor to the cause) I've already got the bike FZR600R 1991 and I've grafted a single sided swing arm on to it, this was much harder to do than it sounds. I thought it looked so well on a BMW that you featured, but instead of just buying something with one already on it I had to do it the hard way (I think I'm wired a bit wrong). Anyway keep up the amazing work, and have a happy new year.
Hi. Yes, i also know how "simple" changes can turn in something really complicated. That happened in several occasions with my Honda CX 650 project. But i admire you courage for trying it. Good luck for your "Street Tracker". Cheers.
Man, your videos are inspiring. Exellent thoughts and tips on design, and always good photos and commentary. I dont know what you do for a living, but someone shold pay you for this. I'm doing my first project this winter, a 2000 mod cb sevenfifty. you channel is my go-to for inspiration. Thank you. Greetings from Norway
+1972espen Thank you my friend for all your kind words, and for your support. To be honest, i'm earning something with these videos, due to the commercials on the side of my videos. It not much, but it's ok. :) I wish you good luck for your project. Thank you. Cheers.
Dude, I know u use a voice software to your videos (that's not a problem) I've been watching a lot of yours and I love them all. Being a suscriptor yours feels so good. This video just inspired me so much. Thanks a lot, Racer TV.
Your videos are so inspiring.. I always loved retro live stile as much as i love motorcycles.. you introduced me to the cafe racer world and since then my passion suddenly had a hole new meaning.. thank you sir.. merry Christmas
Continue a saga e o bom trabalho.. Desejo umas boas festas e " I hope to see you next week" ;)

really can't understand how someone can "dislike" this video, nothing the guy said seems even remotely wrong

They look terrible but are so handy for bring lunch to work or groceries home from the store.
I would love for you to find a bike that fits this category. A beautiful work of art that is comfortable and functional for taking lunch along. I don't know know if it exists, and I've looked a good deal.
+Ride AMAP (As Much As Possible)Thank you. I think my next video will give you the right solution for your needs. :) Cheers.
Buy a scooter :)
I am also planning a cafe racer based on a BMW R45. This is the placer where I feel realy inspirated. Outstanding bikes. Thank you very much
+Onno Meyer Thank you my friend. I glad you liked. Good luck for your project. Cheers.
Soundtrack music on this channel is always fantastic!
Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
But voice is awful...

+MrSlowestD16 Thank you. I'm glad you liked. Cheers.
excellent advise. merry Christmas and a happy new year my friend!
+Chris Harris Thank you my friend. For you too. Cheers.

I just loved everything in this video....voice,content and visuals....
Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
The Voice got to me at first, but the guidance and bike examples, though none of my chosen model, inspired and even moved me. Thank you~~!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
Cheers.
Eugene W Yes, I was. I'm a member on ADVrider.com. Great board. I ride a BMW R1150GS Adventure.
Eugene W Great projects! Sounds like fun.
cafe racer becomes my addiction
I want to rate you sir as 11 out of 10, you are always changing my mode in building classic bikes and keep going, thank you very much for your all inspiring videos
Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers.

+Kristof Jonckers Thank you my friend for all your suport, and for all your kind words. I also wish you a merry Christmas and a happy 2016. :) Cheers.
RACER TV I've had my eye on a Honda cb400 it's been sitting out in the elements for quite sometime. The owner is no longer living and his nephew is now the owner. He says he's been offered $900. What would be reasonable.?
Frank Martinez
Well, depends of the state of the motor, or the usual value in your Country. Check on Ebay or other websites, and verify the average value of the Cb 400.
RACER TV Thanks for the advise. I'll be busy doing more research. You all have a merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I'm sure I would love this channel, but I can't stand the robot voice over.
Cheers.
He sounds like JARVIS from Iron Man😂
@@RACER_TV Have you considered turning up the voice software up to ~1.35 speed. At first I could not stand the speed of the audio but recently started watching your videos at 1.25 or 1.50 times speed and it made it MUCH better. You can still tell it is robotic but the pacing is closer. Either way, thanks for making the videos.
Naw. Sounds fine the way it is.
@@RACER_TV i don't beleave it!
What a great vid Racer,,,Haha even tho im a full fairing fan,,,,i picked up a 1982 CB 125 for my fiancee and after showing her your vids shes letting me start my first CAFE RACER project!!!! +TheLuanValverde Thank you my friend for your kind words of suport. Um Bom Natal e um feliz 2016. Um abraço.

One day I'll afford myself one ❤️
Começarei meu projeto próxima semana. Já escolhi um Suzuki GS 500 2008 como base. Adorei as dicas!
Lol. Um abraço.
thanks for the vídeo!. You gave me enough inspiration in my future project! ;) (soon, very. soon)
You are welcome my friend. My pleasure. Cheers.

I feel like my soul is about to be baptized to the honda gods
+Andriy Herasymchyk Thank you for your king comment. The bike is the Honda CB1000 Café Racer by Studio Motor. :) Cheers.

+Tony Bunch :9 Thank you my friend. It's very kind of you, write in Portuguese. :) I wish you the same. :) Cheers.
grerat video. but most bikes you show are brat racers and not cafe racers. (not that important and still a great video)
You are right. But i see these bikes as being from the same family. :) Thank you for your comment. Cheers.
Isn't really the main difference just the shape of the seat or so?
Triumph bonneville cafe racer seat concepts

Good video. I like how you'd show one bike but then slightly different things done to it.
Thank you my friend for your comment. :) Cheers.
But thank you for sharing your perspective.
:) Thank you my friend for your support. :) I am glad for you, and good luck for your project. Cheers.
This is a good video on how to generally build a good bike.
I may not a have a racer but I just finished my underbone mods, this helped a lot.
tnx for the great vid
+AlecPlease Thank you my friend. I'm glad you liked. :) Cheers.
Cheers.
Parabéns por mais um belo video. Umas Boas Festas e obrigado pelo ano magnifico. Um orgulho acompanhar a Racer Tv. Abraço

+1972espen Thank you my friend for all your kind words, and for your support. To be honest, i'm earning something with these videos, due to the commercials on the side of my videos. It not much, but it's ok. :) I wish you good luck for your project. Thank you. Cheers.
