I started tinkering with electronics in 3rd or 4th grade and became a tech for a local shop in 1976 during junior college. The shop I worked for did everything from Admiral to Zenith so I saw just about any kind of set you could imagine. We were an RCA and Motorola/Quasar authorized dealer and service center

This was our first color TV in 1960, and was probably the only one in a 2 mile radius! Great Job!!!
I was 6 when we got this set, and I was immediately the most popular kid on the neighborhood for sleep overs on Friday nights, as Sherry Lewis and other hosted cartoon shows on NBC were in color the next morning. We had it for about 10 years, and had put it in storage with a family friend, who turned around a sold it to a repair shop. We found it about 10 years after that at another repair shop (there was a distinct nick I had made with a pen knife) ,but by that time it was in really sad shape.
Just as an aside, I worked for an RCA parts distributor in the 80's, and one item we had in stock was the original channel selector knob for this set. The longer the parts sat in stock, the price would appreciate. In 1990, the knob had a retail price of 87.50!!
Love seeing this set again! And you found two of them!!! So cool!

Thank you for the comment. I got this set in northern Wisconsin in Barron WI. I also have a 61 but the picture tube is alittle weaker but it also plays.

Instead of a 1967 episode of Dragnet, how about season one of Bonanza - closer to that TVs vintage.
