Gabriel Patås does he have any content we can view to make an informed decision on spending money on a patrons service. Patreon always seems like a scam to me.....
One of my all time favourite artists is making his own personal tutorials. This is keeping me motivated through Covid. What a silver lining. Thanks homie
Hey mate, I know you're starting the tutorials here on youtube. I really like the format in which you do them, it's easy to understand and attractive to the eye. Keep it up mate!
Great tutorial, this format is an eye candy. As an idea for monetization - I've seen other youtubers sharing the project file via a paid bandcamp track. I imagine some of the folk would like to support you or/and get the project file for learning. Keep it up!
TH-cam algorithm brought me here. I checked you out on apple music after reading the comment section and accidentally played Pauk full volume on some nice headphones. Startled me for sure but I did not turn it down. I'm a fan
I've always felt like a weirdo typing in the numbers in my parameters when everyone talks about "feeling it". But Yan Cook does it and he has more feeling than anyone. Thanks for this brilliant video! Respect
SANT NIETO you type stuff in but even Yan Cook said if you can map some parameters to a midi controller... my dumb ass didn’t buy a midi controller with assignable faders or knobs. 😒 But I have some hardware synths..tb-03...😁
@@ohstirfry mapping is to get the human touch because its fun to play with knobs and if you automatize gets boring. If you have tb03, forget about analog and typing and go straight there mate! Cheers
Just discovered you, and man, you've been hanging with the techno gods for sure. Really impressive work, I can feel the dynamics and character you put into your music, so tasteful.
Yan, I cannot thank you enough for this incredible tutorial! Not only did I learn so much from going through each step but I also had so much fun. Your tutorials are an inspiration that bring joy to so many people who are all too often overwhelmed by the intricacies of Ableton. You are a true pioneer in this field! Sending you much love this Valentines day!: )
Man this is insane. All your videos and music are insanely good! I’m from Colombia and I’ve been smashing it with your music and with your production tips! Also in Miami’s underground scene I’ve been introducing some of your tunes!! Keep the videos and music coming! Would love to meet you and see you perform one day! I’m already a fan over here!
At work (midnight shift) bumpin my acid techno playlist and go curious. As an aspiring DJ/producer I searched “How To Make Acid Techno” and this popped up lol. This is 🔥
Even though Im not using Ableton right now, your tutorials are clear and thorough enough for me to easily apply it to my own workflow! Keep up the good work with the awesome tutorial videos!!!
This is so great! Spent a lot of time looking at 303 emulators and then analog actually does a really good job. I also recommend switching filter type in analog to asym 3 for a real nice overdriven squelchy sound
very nice tutorials brother very easy to understand and get the whole idea and give you the taste of ableton without endless talking and clicking and much time . your video is to the point and nice to the eye . i reccomend for each version of the video you make like this you make one with more details and explaining everything in your way so you can satisfy the lets do it guys and also the how you do it exactly guys... thanks for this video
Love all of your tutorials, but if you could reduce the background zooming the Ableton screen, would be even more perfect 😭 anyway thank you for everything 💜💜💜
They're not really tutorials. They're very good recipes. A tutorial should teach you the rationale behind decisions so you actually learn the subject. You'll notice he doesn't call them tutorials. You can memorize a whole book of meal recipes and you might be able to cook them well but you wouldn't be able to work as chef creating your own menus from scratch.
How do you decide on the Frequency automation pattern? Do you aim to make a build-up/follow a specific pattern? Also, whats the best way to draw the automation? I find it incredibly tedious to do manually lol
I'm not sure I quite understand the first question, I decide by my taste :) And I draw automation with a mouse and shortcuts or I record it with a midi controller.
Hi Yan, could you review your track Sand with us? I really like that song :) If not, maybe only the lead/drive of the song ? thanks! Nice Acid recipe btw ;) TH-cam really needs some quality techno producer content.. Like you, keep up the work.
I'm loving this series! Being a fan of your music this are super insightful. What I would love to know is, how do you manage your levels for mixing? I see you use limiters in almost every track, it would be awesome to know roughly where you place them in volume for most tracks, for example kick -6, rumble -8, kickBUS -3 and so on. Not to use as a template but more as a "rule of thumb" or a guideline for average gainstaging. Anyway, keep them coming, love from Argentina ✌️🙂 🇦🇷
I keep kick+sub at -6db, everything else I adjust by ear with utility, but not above -8db. And I use limiter just to be able to see if the sound is peaking.
Got a silly question, is it some newer version of LFO or something? Because mine has a different look and it doesn't trigger the overdrive scale to move. So I was wondering why if we've got the same version of Ableton
The only techno guy making real tutorials
Yalcin Efe....Following him as well as Yan Cook. Different teaching methods both useful.

Love the break down. Start with the main SOUND, a lot of intricacies and the song structure with drums was what really put it all together for me

Great tip about modulating the overdrive! 🙏🏻🤘
You are awesome man!
Excellent vid, Yan :)
You can put the ping pong delay in a send channel to not loose punch same for the reverb
Futurist!! I need to know how you got those weird metallic sounds 😁
YOUR TUTORIALS ARE AWESOME!
Your tutorials are so good, probably the best techno tutorial ever.
Loved it, simple and effective , cheers mate!
Click Click Click and I've made Acid Techno Yan Cook Style 😁 I love you man!!!

Which exactly version of ableton did you use to make this video?
great video, would love to see a digitakt-techno-tutorial!

I really like your track "Reef"
I don't have this analog instrument. Is it because I only have live 11 lite?
Please make a video track creation native vst Ableton -start to finish
Got a silly question, is it some newer version of LFO or something? Because mine has a different look and it doesn't trigger the overdrive scale to move. So I was wondering why if we've got the same version of Ableton
I've got ''yellow'' version
I'm not sure, but I think it should work the same. I have 2 versions, one for midi and one for audio channels.
What do you think of Emulations like ABL? Is that something you use or are you always doing it yourself?
I own an Analog 4 MK2, it can handle Acid pretty good.
@@YanCook Yeah ok thats even better
Thank you!
Awesome atmoshpere
Halo Yan, quick question, which source do you sidechain the gluecompressor to?.... Great Video! Thanks Buddy
It's a simple 808 kick.
