Necessary before repairing the milling machine. №2

- Before starting the repair of the machine, it is necessary to check the angles at which its linear motion feeds are located. As a rule, they have deviations from the ideal position. Knowing these data, they should be taken into account when repairing. Due to this, the position of the axes will be close to ideal.

nice work...few people realize that a good adhesive connection is usually more 'accurate' than a welded or fastened system, as it introduces very little stress into the parts...about 32 years ago, I had a bit of 'discussion' with colleagues, when developing long-range 3d scanners, but I think that they found it convincing that adhesives were used in the optics for earth observation satellites ;-)
Thanks for detailed discussion and videos of your setup and steps.

I will share this on practical machinist forum 8-)
Great video as always! Very interesting method of checking the accuracy of the milling machine 👍 I also like how you was using a glove to handle the indicator stand so it didn't get heat transfer from your hand 👍 great work! 💪🇺🇦
Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge 👍🏼
I define your videos as " thought provoking ".It is always a mental challenge to work your way through the " accuracy minefield ".
Very interesting, I'm going to check my mill using this method.

Very interesting. 👍⭐👍
Awesome, as always!
Very Creative and ingenious wais of mesuring
This was really interesting.
Great you're up to the magic 1000 subscribers 8-)
Great video, Gena! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I'm curious how how the next steps will be done. Looking forward to the next video!
Thank you! Material filmed, preparing for publication. As a result, there will be data on the position of the three axes and the axis of rotation of the spindle. I will know where I need to cut metal when making repairs.
Підписався і залишу комент для підтримки каналу. Чекаю з нетерпінням на наступне відео! А також сподіваюсь на серію відео по ремонту вашого токарного в леопардовому фарбуванні
How can this method be used for a vertical milling machine, such a bridgeport?
It's easier with a vertical milling machine. There, the head itself can be adjusted at its installation sites. And with a machine like mine, it is possible to correct the axis of rotation of the spindle, but it is very technologically difficult. A similar check on a vertical milling machine can also be performed. There will be just a few technological differences.
@@gena_bazarko I am trying to figure out how to make a precision CNC mill and installing "hiwin" profiled leaner rails. It seems there are no proper thorough complete detailed explanations on how to install linear rails on the internet. I have seen many video on youtube but they are line only 5-10mins and doesn't explain completely. I have seen few skilled machinists on youtube who were able to build there own precision CNC mills using granite, however they don't explain properly how they were able to do it. There are no books, articles no any kind of documentation that explains the process of installing linear rails using dial indicators or what not, I have seen the installation manual from the manufactures but it is not enough information. I guess the best way to learn is to become an apprentice in precision machining for precision machine building.
Брат, где ты работал или где ты научился так четка работать? Ты красавчик, большой поклон тебе
