Man you’ve no idea, even outside of the game. Back in middle school and high school me and a lot of other classmates were addicted to this game. I was the only one who knew computers well so I was the host of our server, last year I found the old hard drive with the world for the server and me and two other friends who I still talk to checked it out and MAN the nostalgia! It’s crazy how much we and everything else changed. No seriously even the cliche of us zit-nosed fatso socially awkward nerds from back then changed to ripped socially awkward nerds (we wanted to get laid in college so we suddenly became health and gym enthusiasts, IT WORKED :D). But sadly not all of us, yea I’m definitely not alone here when it comes to these type of sad experiences, we found my old giant mansion which I shared with two other classmates who took their own lives in high school. Their stuff, our penis-shaped Diamond-block statue, our red stone mechanism, their “trophy” (a cake on top of an ender stone block lol) that I made for them for helping me kill the dragon, their pets, their “project ideas” signs that were never built, etc. All three of us got very emotional and it was very difficult not to be. To the point that the next day we went to the cemetery where they’re buried to pay our respects again, this game is truly magical!
It's so amazing to see him get excited over his old worlds. It's hard to believe how emotional this block game can be. Not just from a roleplay perspective, but from all the memories people make on here.
I started crying when he say Azteq's store, it reminds me of when I used to play with all my friends, I was so young, and I still am, I'm 14. But I lost them, we drifted apart over the years and some died.....I'm sad now
Wait were your friends about the same young age? Oh my god they had so much to live for. Rip. Remember there are there somwhere up there looking on you
legit got teary eyed watching this because this was so nice and it gave me memories of first few time i played minecraft and i remember how amazed i was by it and i still am after almost a decade of playing the game. sadly i don't have my first world but i remember it. this was really nice to watch
I know how hard that must’ve been for Phil. My best friend passed away due to a car crash and he was 13. We used to play video games together like Minecraft and I still revisit some of his old builds just to feel like I’m still with him.
I feel that a good friend of mine passed away at 15 due to a heart problem that went undetected it was very hard and I wish i could revisit the world of the games we played together sadly it was on her pc so its lost forever
Watching this back now, after our blood god died, is heartbreaking. Remembering Phil building for Matthew and now building for Alex. I can't even begin to imagine how heartbreaking that would be. I know that this probably won't be seen but my heart goes out to you Philza Minecraft. I know that none of us are hurting as you probably still are. But I hope you know that we still feel you on some level at least. We all loved him. Rest in Peace, Matthew. Rest in Peace, Alex.
This kind of reminds me of Pompeii. Everything left exactly how it was for so long. Doors left open, chests untouched, blocks left lying on the ground. It's so cool. This was honestly so nostalgic and I completely forgot about some of the older versions of Minecraft.

I didn’t know why he was crying so I looked up who Matthew Adams was and I fucking cried so hard cause just this week I lost 2 loved ones in a car accident. Rest In Peace Matthew.

About 9 years ago, I was going to a booth with some of my friends at the county fair. We walked up to the Pc booth, and we found this cool little building game called Minecraft. 9 years later, I’m still here. A few weeks ago, my little cousin wanted to play Minecraft. In that moment, I remembered all my old adventures. All my old pets. All my old worlds. Going to the book store to find the handbooks. Searching up TH-cam building tutorials. And one day, looking back, i want to remember these words. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
Bro I started playing minecraft when my 2 older brothers asked my mom if i could make an account and play with them, it was one of my first video games I ever played. I probably started playing when I was 6/7. And now I remember my 2 pet fishes (there names were mako and mermaile) that lived in my brothers swimming pool he had in one of his houses. Damn I miss them, I wish I could go back but we've forgotten the password to his old account. I'm never going to stop playing minecraft this game has been such a big part of my life and whether it becomes irrelevant or not I love minecraft and refuse to stop playing it.

My old worlds were on 360 and I don’t know if that copy of disc Minecraft got stolen out of my storage unit when we moved or not. We had a huge break into it and they stole a ton
I don't understand this. Watching him walk around that old server I felt like I could remember him laughing there with friends. I only found Phil in the last 6 months so I don't even know old Phil content but the image of Phil walking around the world, knowing all he knows and having done all he's done, it's like watching an immortal visit their childhood home.
First time watching your video I cried when you found Azteq's shop that reminds me of when I lost a very close friend I knew for seven years and the only memories I could keep with me was a minecraft world that we both had played on. So seeing someone else taking that trip down memorie lane really got to me I love you man we all lose friends and family but no matter what they don't die in our hearts. ❤
I am so sorry about your friend and I hope you are doing well and I have never lost a friend but I have lost dogs. I will not pretend to know what it feels like but I will be wishing you well. ❤
I'm crying... It's so sad... Minecraft has been a part of my life for around 2 months (not a lot) but it means a lot to me.. I cannot imagine how Phil must have felt revisiting all of those places... Specially with his friend's house... It must feel so ... Emotional... I'm crying too.. it's too much
That made me teary eyed, this is the best thing about games especially Minecraft. When you build things together and make the memories they are stored in each block that makes the world what it is, so when you unfortunately lose somebody if you played with that you have them forever imprinted in your world and that is beautiful.
This still reminds me of my first world.. I remember making my first house, befriending my first dog and mining my first blocks. This brings back many memories, ones I didn’t think I could uncover.
when he goes "nooooo waaaaaay" i start staring at his face for the look of old memories. I deleted all my old saves, all i have are my memories, god i wish i never deleted them
im honestly so fucking happy i still have every single World ive ever created, except for the very very first one, lost that in a Crash sadly, but i only played on that map for like 3 hours maybe so not that big of a loss^^. sorry for you man, its a really wonderous feeling to wander those old maps from time to time.
This video genuinely made me cry because he was so happy at seeing his old worlds and it reminded me of playing Minecraft with my friends when I was younger
It feels so weird, seeing everything frozen in time. Knowing that all the items are where you left them, all the dogs and animals are still there, all the structures still standing. And all the spawn points still set.
I think the idea that we wont live forever makes this game feel that much more special. That dog is still sitting waiting, while we as humans are always going through changes. Minecraft hits deep fr
@@franciskurian9392 his friend died and he built sky city (I think sky city) in memory of him. Then Phil ran across a build of his friend that reminded him of his friend.
i remember back in 2017, me and my friends played on an xbox edition server. It wasnt online, we had 4 controllers and a shared screen. The game wasn't updated, we were playing as if it was 2013 to be honest. We didnt have custom skins, we had the ones on the gallery. No real game names, just the same name with (2), (3) and (4) on the end. It was amazing. We were doing different stuff every day. One time it was mining and another it was building a new house. We were playing on my xbox, so I can visit the world anytime I want. However, nothing lasts forever. As we started to move up grades we couldn't keep playing all the time. So, the whole old worlds, brings me nostalgia.
"I remember I was going to make a path through this mountain, Well, it's not even a mountain, In my head back then it was a mountain." *Chuckles* "It's a hill." 21:32 Were you trying to be poetic here Phil, or is this a coincidence?
Phil's like "I was worried people would think it was dumb" but it's honestly so amazing and wholesome to get to watch his absolute joy as he relives old memories.
it's honestly crazy knowing that a lot of us weren't even here for most of this, yet it still brings that feeling of nostalgia and joy and the bittersweet, it's incredible to see how far people come through such a simple and loved thing.
Minecraft is pain Minecraft is suffering Minecraft is heartbreak Minecraft is anxiety Minecraft is beauty Minecraft is family Minecraft is friends Minecraft is imagination Minecraft is nostalgia. Minecraft is everything to us.
This reminded me of one of my Minecraft core memories. When I was like 8 me and my sister had kindles and my mom bought us Minecraft. My sister wasn’t that into it, but I LOVED IT. I specifically remember building a beach resort, where I build a pool with a diving board and a smoothie shop, where each color of wool was a different flavor. I made my sister be a customer so many times lol. It’s really cool to have literally grown up alongside this game. Thank y’all for walking down memory lane with me, and thank you Phil for helping me remember this hidden gem of a memory.
I see your first world and eventually tears start streaming down my face. I have little recollection of my first world on 360, but I remember the memories. All the times I had with my brother and my sister playing this game together, bonding together. I'm on and off with this game but no matter how many times I start a new world, I feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement that can't be matched with any other game I've ever played. After years go by you tend to forget what made your life special, and those memories with my loved ones, playing a video game, brought me closer to them than anything else in so long. No matter the obstacles in the future, it's always comforting if not a little bittersweet to look fondly on the past, to look back on the good old days. Thank you Minecraft. And may Matthew rest in peace.

About 9 years ago, I was going to a booth with some of my friends at the county fair. We walked up to the Pc booth, and we found this cool little building game called Minecraft. 9 years later, I’m still here. A few weeks ago, my little cousin wanted to play Minecraft.

I find the old “oohf” noise the player made when hurt to be nostalgic.
Treehouses for me. I used to constantly build treehouses in the jungle. Dunno why but I though they were the coolest thing ever.

It's is always so to go back to old worlds in your MC my oldest is 2014. You go back and you start looking at all your old houses and remembering all the things you did in that world. Thanks for sharing Philza!
