  • Wherever Our Lady enters, She obtains the grace of conversion and sanctification. Just agreeing to his brother’s invitation to wear the Scapular changed Michael Correia’s life. Here is his story.

1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
Luke 1:46-47 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
1 Corinthians 10:4 “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
1 Samuel 2:2 “There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
Mark 7:7. “Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
1 Timothy 4:3 “Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”
2 Timothy 3:15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
      1Ti 3:2 - A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
      Tit 1:7 - For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God;
Hosea 6:6 “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
Rev 3:16 - So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Better to be a born again Christian and find a good Bible study group.

Thank you @gregoryt8792 for your detailed comment and for sharing these scripture references. Let's address a few key points to provide a better understanding of Catholic teaching.
      1. One Mediator: While 1 Timothy 2:5 states that Christ is the one mediator, Catholics believe that saints, including Mary, intercede for us through Christ, not apart from Him. This is supported by passages like 1 Timothy 2:1, which encourages intercessory prayer, and gives the proper context for 1 Timothy 2:5.
      2. Mary’s Role: Mary’s recognition of God as her Savior in Luke 1:46-47 doesn’t contradict her sinlessness; it highlights her dependence on God’s grace. For more on the Immaculate Conception of Mary see Catholic Answers www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/the-immaculate-conception-in-scripture and on Mary in general: www.catholic.com/search?q=mary.
      3. Holiness and Intercession: Romans 3:10 and 1 Samuel 2:2 emphasize God’s unique holiness. Catholics agree but also recognize that God shares His holiness with His saints. For more on the intercession of saints, see www.catholic.com/tract/the-intercession-of-the-saints.
      4. Celibacy and Dietary Practices: 1 Timothy 4:3 is often cited against Catholic practices, but celibacy and fasting are disciplines, not doctrines, intended to foster spiritual growth. See Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 1579 - Celibacy is a gift that enables priests to dedicate themselves with undivided heart to the Lord's work - www.scborromeo.org/ccc/para/1579.htm.
For further clarity on these topics, refer to the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
      - Intercession of Saints: www.scborromeo.org/ccc/para/956.htm
      - Role of Mary: www.scborromeo.org/ccc/para/963.htm.
I hope this helps - Friar Roderic

The faith is really the key to any sacramental; it's not that the sacramentals themselves have any power. The power is in the underlying faith of the user of the sacramental. Hope that helps.

That was yrs. ago I was younger then! I never have stopped wearing my scap I love it :) It has been yrs now since I started wearing it and today I pray daily the holy rosary finding it " LIFE CHANGING" regretting not listening to Mom in the first place for when you pray the holy rosary it is so reverent and peaceful and JOYFUL and I learn so much by praying the holy rosary! I can't live without it today! Since I started praying the holy rosary my roommate converted at 76 yrs of age and now prays daily with me! I ALWAYS DEFEND HER WHEN PROTESTANTS MOCK HER. THE BEST WAY TO GET RID OF THE DEMONS IN YOUR LIFE IS TO CONFESS ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YOUR SINS. FR GAB. @@WilberWiley the attacks intensify as one moves on. Only the full armour of God (Scripture, Sacraments, daily prayer, penance/fasting, charity and mercy towards others can protect. The scapular, alonwith the miraculous medal, blessed and formally conferred by a priest, preferably a Carmelite, is very, very helpful). Then, when all this is done daily/regularly, with frequent Confession, TRUST and humility are necessary. God's help is always available but how and when He actually exercises His sovereign grace is something one needs to allow for and persevere no matter what - example of Job.

@@carlosfigueiredo8193 I go to Mass everyday, confession every month, pray 3 hours a day, where the miraculous metal, and brown scapular, read the bible everyday, and do the little office of the blessed mother. Also I go to Eucharistic Adoration at least once a week sometimes twice. I was enrolled in the confraternity of the brown scapular in the second grade. Every catholic kid back in the early 60's and earlier was. I fast everyday, and lost 50 pounds. I give to 5 or 6 different charities. I had a dramatic conversion experience when I was battling cancer ten years ago. The conversion experience was a true miracle. I cryed when it happened because I could not believe how much God loved me even though I was deep in sin. I pray 15 decades of the rosary everday, and sometime pray the entire rosary in latin. I was given the grace to pick up latin easily. I was given more but I will stop with this. Thankyou for your suggestions. Evil is very powerful, but not as strong as Gods Love. Idolatry is worshipping of a false God.
As no point in time is there some hint on our part of suggesting, or implying that the Mother of God is a false god.
You confusing the act of doing something with that of your intentions.
The act of pulling a trigger on a gun when at the gun range with a bunch of friends is not a sin.
Going downtown and pointing your gun at innocent people and pulling the trigger is of course murder and a sin.
So, the simple act of kneeling in a church and appealing to (veneration of) some statue of Saint Bernadette is not a sin, nor is it Idolatry since at no point in time you are under the impression that statue is some false god.
It is an assumption and worshipping on your part with FULL knowledge you are appealing to some false God that makes such acts Idolatry.
We are not worshipping the Mother of God under ANY pretext that she is some false god.
In fact, every single Christion denomination will often say to their flock:
*_Please pray for Jonny who is sick in the hospital_*
*_Or please remember Joe who passed away this week in your prayers_*
In other words, all the time, it is common to ask someone to pray on someone’s behalf, or even your behalf.
You are free to ask your mom, your brother or who ever to pray on your behalf, including that the of the mother of God. Every single Christion church does this on a regular basis.
So, then why can’t we Catholics do the same, and ask anyone, including the Mother of God to pray on our behalf? Hum?
The idea that we Catholics at any point in time assume, think, or are confused that the Mother of God is to be considered some false God is laughable.
So, the fact that you in some church with some statues at the front and praying does not out of the blue become Idolatry, since at no point in time are you under some false impression that simple statue is some kind of false god.
When those at the foot of Mount Sinai, and fashioned a golden calf, the sin was THEN them accepting and worshipping that golden calf was to be their new God! (just making some statue would not be the sin, or having some existence of that statue constitute idolatry). But, appealing to that golden calf as the new god? Yes, you now in the wrong.
Veneration of some statue is not worship. It is reverence, or veneration.
Who put the 2 cherubs in the temple of Solomon on both sides of the alter?
And now you have a bunch of people in that church praying, and there are 2 statues in front of you?
How come this is now all fine and ok?
Those statues were ordered by God himself!
      Exodus: 25:18
*_and you have made two cherubim of gold; you make them beaten work at the two ends of the propitiatory covering_*
In other words, placing 2 statues on the sides of the alter is not some sin, nor is it out of the blue to be considered Idolatry.
In other words, having statues of Angles or whatever is not the sin, it is YOU worshipping some statue with full knowledge and under the assumption that statue is to be considered some false God, and not the true god.
Your intentions here matter, just like when pulling the trigger of a gun - that act alone is not the sin.
We Catholic’s are not under ANY assumption or confusing that such statues such as the Mother of God is “some false God”, and nor are we ever confused about this issue of false Gods.

You have to explain what you mean here.
From the Christian point of view, there is only one God. Not multiple, nor is there is a Moon God, a Sun God, or some Wind god.
In fact, the instant you remove the so called God in everything argument, then you are NOW free to study why the wind blows. If you your society believes in a wind God, or a Moon God, then what would be the use to study thermodynamics that causes the wind to blow, or why the Moon orbits (with a Moon God that makes the moon move, you would have no reason to question how the Moon orbits).
However, once that society eliminates such superstations and you remove the God in everything (Pantheism), then that gives rise to the scientific method. No fluke that science rose in the west as a result. So, there is no grass God, nor is God in that grass, hence now that society will freely ask and use the scientific method to study why and how the grass grows, or the wind blows.
It also why we consider the universe optional, and its existence not part of God, but an Act of God to create.
