the first tune is a GHB setting of the Pasacorredoiras de Vilalba [Gary called this 'The Three-wheeled Rabbit' when he didn't know the original title] The second is the Aires de Pontevedra ; both, as he says, Galician tunes
when the men was plaing i see that is eyes changed and became look on the far far times of medival scoteland and the streng of is ancestor's...dammm i love your culture so much...
irelan has Uileann Pipes and irish War Pipes,Macedonia and Bulgaria have their own pipes.I have a set of Bulgarian pipes that i bought 9 years ago during a skiing trip.As a drummer i thought it would be great to try something else.My first serious try came 9 years later today. If i get through the rest of the afternoon off a respirator, and having learned 5 notes will be doing well. But am going to continue and people concerned about my health are welcome to check in and email.
of course Scotland has bagpipes, border pipes and Northumbia has wonderful pipes minus the keys originally and plenty Northumbrian pipers have played in Ireland.Great to hear our Galician cousin's tunes!!
Aires de Pontevedra. Wonderful tune beautifully played however if you have never heard it try the version played by the amazing Galician piper Carlos Nuñez.
ooh a stewart coat of arms! I am a direct descent of scottish royal stewart! from my 13th great grandmother however at least on one clan campbell line but still it's a line that I am proud to be related to!
Not expecting at all hearing songs from my country Galicia when I entered the video. Amazing performance, thanks!!

Great sound of your pipes
the name of the first tune is The three wheeled rabbit!!!!!
Just finished a tune for my granddaughter.
Two Galician Tunes: "Pasacorredoiras de Vilalba" & "Aires de Pontevedra"
Aires de Pontevedra!
Very enjoyable. Made me look for some smallpipe recordings. I'd buy his CD if he ever records.
The Islay Ball - Gary's solo album. If you haven't yet found it already ;)
Excellent :)
Let all foot tapping commence!
What is the name of the second tune? I love it and have relearning it for yrs!
what tune is he playing this sounds awesome
Can you tell me who made your smallpipes. I'm shopping and the sound is rich and well balanced.
Cool for the man wearing kilt in the highlands with sheeps...
Great fingers
I'm quite sure Robert Mathieson recorded the second tune on one of his albums
Anyone knows the book he mentioned in the video? Or does anyone hear the name clearly? I only heard George Greglum...
It's called "A New Way to Melrose - a Selection of Tunes from Around the World" published by the LBPS
Pelase, maker smallpipes ?
Aires de Pontevedra!

Does anyone know what the book is that Gary talks about?
it's a D or C set?
Sounds like D
Any makers of these pipes in the States?
+boaire Chris Pinchbeck from Maine - gorgeous instruments and a great guy!
+boaire A bunch! EJ Jones and Seth Hammon out of Texas, Chris Pinchbeck and Nate Banton in Maine, just to name a few.
+Rafi Singer I've been thinking about buying a set from Nate Banton. Do you know anyone who plays his pipes?
52 folks so far probably disagree with you, and one MIGHT agree. I'm not that ONE.
really wish I knew the name of that last tune!
Aires de Pontevedra.
Actually the last tune is Galician Dance
Look like Hamish Moore pipes to me
What a silly thing to say. Tune your ears lad/lass.
