I am in the exact same situation for the European regionals, except I refuse to play red because the game must be fun for me and trying topku and beerus online I just cannot have fun with them. Torn between Goku Black, Vegeta and Zamasu, in that order. I feel in the same order they are weaker -> stronger against topku but goku black is so different from the other blue and is the one I have most fun! But against green it's a 0% chanche (unless green bricks harder than I do). Best of luck whatever you choose to play!

The thing is even if you go with your heart for the "fun" option, you're just going to be slamming your head against a wall over and over and likely get knocked out quickly. That doesn't even sound like fun. So if you even want to have fun you have to basically play either Topku, Beerus or Zamasu with Topku to even compete and stand a chance which also happens to be the metapicks. This format is just that garbage and I have 0 faith in Bandai doing anything about it when they put all the money in alt art Topku chase cards and Glimpse is getting a full art/alt art in the near future so our only hope is just just either play the 3 valid decks competitively and play everything else for fun with friends at our home tables. Here's praying the designed set 3 and Black with a way to balance this out but the fact that they managed to fuck this game up so badly in 2 sets doesn't give me any faith that they did or even play test this game at all. (If this game was indeed play tested the people testing/designing are dogshit at their own game to not see this coming)

I would go with whatever your goal is. If you are going to the event to just have fun and you're okay just losing out to TOPkus then run blue. If you're going with the goal to have a shot at winning, run TOPku. You will still have fun running the deck, but you just wont get the satisfaction of possibly beating them with blue. If you do run TOPku, practice a top with the online game. Remeber the deck is all about getting the win as soon as possible, you cant think of it like a blue deck. You dont want to go into the late game

This is what my group going to peoria is feeling right now. We dont have a local card shop, it stopped support in masters but we have 10 of us really dedicated and wanting to travel.
I LOVE red as a color but I despise the format of topku and the feeling of one sided games.
It makes us not want to go as we really just dont want to play topku and drop early.

So as a computer science student we tend to always consider the worst possible scenario or outcome and in your case I think it’s not having fun nor winning which is possible, in that sense I would recommend that you play the blue leader you practiced the most so that even if you lost to Topku most likely it’s because of card quality difference and not a (skill issue) personally, the losses that hurt me the most are those when I lose to myself but who’s to blame me if I lost cuz opponent had Exodia. Finally, I wish you best of luck with whatever leader you choose.

I’m big on playing what’s fun because that’s what matters to me the most. However if your objective is to top as high as possible then topku is the way to go. Hope you get that goku!

You should play a blue deck i know you love blue and to be quire honest if you run topku its not an automatic win so you should play what you know best thats just my opinion though

If you are going for competitive... learn and perfect TOPku.

I feel like either way, it won't be "fun". Like, I'm like you. I love blue. I LIVE for blue. I love the sauce, I love the loops, I love the zany plays and hi rolls you can get. I didn't have the best trunks deck going into NC (i got some good trades to more complete it after, and basically zero prep). I played like 10-12 games against topku in that regional. And it, at least, was exhausting. It wasn't the losing, I don't care particularly about that, I went there to hang out with my locals group and have a good time, but the absolute sameness of it all. And it's only going to get worse I feel, not better. Like if it's not fun to play on the sim and get topku 5-6 games in a row, it's not going to be somehow more entertaining doing it live. So you might as well go for a win, in my opinion.

I think if you do not 100% feel comfortable playing topku and there’s only 12 days left to prepare then it isn’t much more as advantage to play it over blue since you are a well seasoned blue player. If anything you can tech in 4 zenoh and 2 absolute lighting and if you see the lightning against topku it will be an easy charge. Remember at regionals you have 35 mins per round compared to the 25 mins at the local level so you might want to play a 54-56 card deck against more grindy matchups just in case of decking out

Ultimately, you got to play what your comfortable with.... but if you spending a lot of $ to either fly/drive out to a regional, you should put yourself in to win by playing the best deck..

Homie, same thing I mentioned in the community post from yesterday. And now with thr context that you are only doing this one regional, i fully support you playing Topku. You and your channel are the reason i stuck with Blue set 1. I never touched a green deck, and now looking at this format, I realize if I wanna WIN, I need to play Topku. People can say whatever they want, its a great deck and very few builds have proven to be able to outplay it.
You got 12 days, hit the sim, hit the webcam games, and play thr heck out of the deck to get the muscle memory in. Keep blue on the side for the side events if you want, but also take it from someone who judged NC. Dont burn yourself out on the side events. Theyre easily 5-6 extra rounds and add that to a day of 8 main event rounds, that shit gets exhausting.

Remember why you enjoy playing card games in the first place, I think blue also is a viable option especially built anti meta especially since most things will be red. Imo I think it's always play what you enjoy and enjoy the trip with your friends and have a good time and I think that's most important unironically; I'm not traveling to sit in a room for 8 hours with a deck I'm not enjoying 🤝

    Nothing beats a high roll
TopKu and even low rolling Blue needs to draw perfectly. Play TopKu

Whenever my friends ask me what deck to they should play in a big event, I always say play the deck you’re most comfortable with over the better deck. If you play with your most comfortable deck, there’s less of a chance of you misplaying in tournament than with the better deck that you’re not comfortable with it.
