A lot of information in first interview with Lisa Marie, she spoke about building with items she picked out. I just love to hear things about Elvis.❤️❤️❤️
I visited Graceland just a little while after they opened the home for "guests." There were very few of us tramping through Elvis's home that day. To my right was the living room and to my left the dining room. This was Priscilla's 1950's version, but this was still Graceland & Elvis lived here. To my amazement, we could pretty much wander around as we wished. I walked back in the living room, pass the long while sofa to stand close enough to touch the keyboard of the piano behind a simple red velvet rope standing guard. Of course, the stairway, upstairs, bedrooms were off limits, but the jungle room, kitchen, and much more were open. It was the light switch at the bottom of the steps leading to the "TV" that got to me. How many times had Elvis bounded down those steps to then reach and slide his hand over that switch? Old and worn, that switch had been there all the time. On my 2nd visit years later, what hit me was as I stood there in the awards hall reading behind a class display was an extensive listing of Elvis's recording sessions. If you ever thought of Elvis as laying around luxuriating......he worked almost daily!!!!
Wow! You were lucky that the tour was more open then. When you talk about the TV switch - do you mean that Elvis could flip the switch and the TV turned on in the TV room downstairs?
Lisa Marie saw Graceland as the Presley family home. It was so much more than just a cash cow. It was something $ couldnt buy, it was the very essence of her dad & the short time they spent together. While I respect what Priscilla did by opening it to the public creating a consistent support to LMPs future ( yeah her guture) & also for the estate & future upkeep of Graceland, while also sharing Elvis with his dedicated fans, but ultimately it meant nothing to her & was nothing more than a revenue stream & connection to the Presley legacy that she could & would exploit & continue to do so for decades & counting. This is what maintains her celebrity status & lifestyle. Why else would she be so desperate about LMP's will in making sure she would still be connected & compensated by the estate only days after LMP's death. This was the higher priority for her over mourning her daughters sudden death & consoling & supporting her grandchildren who just lost their mom suddenly. Why would she be more concerned about seeing a lawyer & contesting LMP's will indicating recent changes to it may have been forged??? Cant imagine Riley giving birth to her first child only days after she lost her own mom & then having to deal with Priscilla's legal bs. How she got through it is beyond my comprehension. Its so good to know she will continue to honor her mom & grandfather's legacy the way they should be. She doesnt have to rely on her Presley connection for anything. All she has to do is celebrate it & keep it alive out of love, not greed. She is a self made woman in her own right. Something Priscilla could'nt ever imagine or hope to be, much less actually being it. Stay strong, Riley. Your mom was so proud of you when still here & no doubt even more ( if even possible) now that she has passed.❤
Riley is very intelligent but I think that Lisa Marie would have wanted her Dad in the photo with her for her book cover. I also think that Lisa would have also had a photo of her and Ben on the book if not all of her children. On Gates of Graceland it shows Christmas decorations stored in the room downstairs that used to be Jerry Schillings bedroom when he stayed at Graceland before Elvis bought him a home. Jerry said that it used to take on water if it rained hard but EPE repaired it so it would be safe for storage. The double wide mobile home that Elvis bought his cousin Billy and Jo Smith that is out back of Graceland that is used for storing items. It has tons of alarms on it and is tempature controlled too. All of the really expensive items such as jewelry and jumpsuits are kept so protected that there are many alarms that haft to be shut off before tours can begin. That why there is always extra security when tours are being conducted. Elvis kept so many things that he bought and that were gifts that Graceland has lots storage spaces, even across the street.
Why not have a statue of Elvis at Graceland, positioned in the centre of his graveside fountain, as a tribute to his everlasting legacy, and appearing as if he was still performing on a stage, as he did in real life.
Not true. She’s keeping her grandfathers memory alive. I wouldn’t expect Graceland to be free to visit. How would they afford the taxes and the upkeep? And Riley doesn’t act spoiled at all.
It's nice that Riley keeps her grandpa and mom alive in spirit that they aren't forgotten ❤️
Will be reading lisa and riley book 😊😊
It's AWESOME!!❤Read it cover to cover in one sitting. You will not be disappointed. I promise you that.
@@eviehammond9509I can read it only in small doses, but that's me. It's devastating, very hard to swallow 💔

Love Riley, but I am not a fan of Oprah!
First Epstiens island and now Graceland, Oprah really gets around.
I like Riley but I can’t stand “CILLA”
Also not a fan of Priscilla

Eu já sabia desse escritório embaixo da mansão que é `a prova de terremotos, furacões,tornados e incêndios.

Great idea! They have a statue like that at Elvis' birthplace in Tupelo. It's beautiful. You can see it here: th-cam.com/users/shortsyuCVGxCarEA
Riley has worked very hard give her credit like . Shes a canny lass .
It is not a secret
I felt Oprah did not ask the right questions in Lisa’s book
I am not a Beatles fan
I love the Presleys but can't stand Oprah!
th-cam.com/video/VWEQj7z9h9k/w-d-xo.html gets better every day
Riley shouldn't trust Oprah
Im not usually a hater but Oprah is not my favorite person, something not quite right about her.

Just another spoiled rich child exploiting Elvis hard work for profits
Untrue!

She is his eldest granddaughter.Leave her alone!
She’s just continuing what their family started ! Why is she the problem 🤦
In my opinion she honours Elvis and Lisa. She has good intentions.
