Thank you, Father. I often pray a “dry Mass,” on Sundays and holy days when I cannot get to Mass. Is it acceptable to silently read, not even lipping, or to meditate on the picture in the missal of the canon and consecration and make a spiritual communion? May one pray the post communions and pray the usual prayers after Mass? In my situation, this would be all privately, nobody else present, (except maybe my dogs in the back.) I often drive to a beautiful overlook near my home to pray on Sunday, just to get out, to have a holy retreat rather than remain home where I’m apt to be distracted by reminders of chores that need doing. Mass is a 3 1/2 hour or more drive into Canada, and a bit too much for me health and financial-wise.
