Now that I think of it, I feel like we players definetly felt heroic listening to this and kinda sad because someone has been fighting for years and even though nano machines made him age faster, we're playing as a legendary soldier that is 71 or 73 years old!!!

Random question but ever since Raiden killed Solidus I've been meaning to ask would Solidus ever be a match for Big Boss and Snake? Would he even win against them in any type of fight?

It wasn’t nanomachines, it was his sabotaged genes that made him age faster. According to Naomi, it’s technically his natural life span.
