    Tips: When I refrigerated my completed burnaway cake, the rice paper (layer on top which you end up burning) became very misshaped and almost crispy.
    I ended up having to redo the decoration on the cake because it didn’t look as it should.
    Take it from me, don’t refrigerate these kinds of cakes before customer collection as this will happen.
    (I use regular buttercream)
    I choose to decorate my burnaway cakes before my customers collect and while I wait for them I just leave the cake in its box with the air conditioner on.
    If you don’t live in a hot county then you may not have this issue but I did because it get really hot where I’m from 😅
    Hope this helps someone. 😊

      Wait , I'm confused. I was watching another video and she said to refrigerate your cake before you burn it.

      @@elizabethsagarminaga4281 omg I always refrigerated my cakes. The first time I did a burnaway cake I left it in the fridge overnight and by the next morning the Ricepaper has completely bubbled (it’s wasn’t even wet and this still happened) I had to remove the ricepaper and thereafter the cake came back
      to room temperature I redecorated it. Now I just decorate the burnaway cakes the morning before my customer
      Collects that way everything is still intact.

      I refrigerate mine. All you have to do is wrap the box with a couple layers of cling film so moisture from the fridge won’t get into it. It will be fine.

    Could I have the base layer be a gel icing message instead of a printed icing layer? Would the moisture of the icing underneath the burnaway paper layer affect it at all?

  • @sparkler1012

    why doesn't the image underneath also burn?

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It’s made of icing. The one that burns is wafer paper, it burns really easily, the thicker bottom image made of icing doesn’t burn easily

    Hi, can I make this cake 1 dag before delivery? Can I store the cake in the refrigerator with the edible papers on it?

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wouldn’t store it in the fridge with the images on as the condensation when the cake comes out of the fridge can affect the images but you could get the bulk of the cake made the day before and in the fridge and add the edible images just before delivery?

    How do you print the image on the paper though? I can’t imagine running either through a standard printer

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      “Edible” printers are standard printers with edible ink in the cartridges instead of normal ink 😊

    thank you for sharing, Do you refrigerate before adding the wafer papper?

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can refrigerate to firm up the buttercream if you wish but it’s not necessary. If you do refrigerate, don’t do it for too long as you don’t want condensation to form as it can spoil the bottom image

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t tried it but I can’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t work. The flame melts the frosting at the edges ever so slightly so expect the same to happen with whipped cream 😊

    Hi! I’m looking to make this cake however my concern is does it end up tasting burnt?

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only bit that tastes a bit “toasty” is the buttercream where the flame makes contact but you could always scrape that ring of buttercream off before slicing the rest of the cake and it should all be unaffected 😊 Hope it goes well, have fun 🥰 x

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  ปีที่แล้ว

      The bottom image is an icing sheet and the top image is wafer paper or rice paper depending on which company you use. You can get two different types of edible image. The one you need for the top is the thinner type of paper, which tends to be called wafer paper or rice paper.

    • @SweetieDarlingCakes
      @SweetieDarlingCakes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can freeze the cake without the edible images on but let it thaw completely before adding the images. Condensation will cause the images to dissolve otherwise.
