The verse referred in the beginning is Quran 50:37 إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَذِكْرَى لِمَن كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ In this, behold, there is indeed a reminder for everyone whose heart is wide-awake -that is, [everyone who] lends ear with a conscious mind - (asad)
Amazing amazing lecture! And you just hit the nail on the coffin with all the other forms of these meditation - what is the goal after? You'll hit a ceiling and eventually probably just surrender to your self. And that to me is still the persistence of your ego.

What is the distinction between surrendering to the occurrences of the world and surrendering to the almighty? I know the difference theoretically but whenever I meditate, I get to a position of stillness where I surrender to Destiny as such but I can't come to a recognition of the highest being as such further than that diety being a mental belief that I've created. Maybe an explanation on the nature of the God I'm trying to witness and how my soul is supposed to connect with that being or entity! Much thanks
