Some of the largest walleyes I've caught on blades...I use blades year-round and have boated just about every species out of Lake Erie using them. Silver tends to work quite well regardless of the conditions. I cast them out about 100 ft from the boat and reel them in gradually while jigging vertically...that way you can sit off those current seams and cover more water. Opening night the bite was on fire...there's been some hit or miss nights since then. Was out about a week ago at night and limited out in about 30 minutes jigging in 20-30 fow...my 12 yr old hauled in an 8.5 pounder that night...lots of rain that night but worth getting soaked.
They are definitely responsible for our biggest walleye as well. In the weeks ahead we’ll show you some more blade bait action!
If you have solid color blades (silver/gold, etc.), try taking a sharpie marker to them and coloring in 1-2 red or black dots on either side of them. Report back your results. You'll be surprised.

I love blade baits!! People think that they are for winter and rivers only. I catch fish year round on blade baits. Great video

Agreed. We try to stock up on our favorite colors but never fails they bite the bait you have the fewest of.

@danward2490 there's a bunch of different ones in purple, but sometimes it's like the perfect fly, sometimes when there tied a little different, it becomes a bit less proficient 😪

Triple Grip Elite has a 20 degree angle from tip to shank and has a longer shank. The new triple grips have a shorter shank and is only a 12 degree angle. I have hundreds of em. Literally and I need to buy more.
Do you swap out your blade bait and crankbait trebles then for the Triple Grips? Would you use the longer shank?
The only time I use the short shank triple grips is on my Worm harnesses and my small crank baits. 🤙🎣 Just wanna see you do really good lil brother ☺️
My Blade Baits have short shank hooks also. I just checked. Lol. But I also use a softer rod on my poles with braided line.
How heavy on the blade baits?
We use 1/2 ounce and 3/4 ounce blades.
