I went glamping ALONE in Mt Fuji 🇯🇵

I've been traveling back and forth to Japan since I was 18 and SOMEHOW I've been super unlucky every time and never got a glimpse of Mt Fuji. Even when I took the shinkansen and sat on the correct side of the train, it was always insane forecast even when I left the house with decent visibility 😂
To make sure I was able to see Mt. Fuji on my last trip, I decided to stay overnight in a dome tent as I love camping. The location had a clear view of the mountain and was accessible via public transport and walking.
Unfortunately, I have a fairly weak immune system and get sick easily. I didn't realize I was already feeling unwell and within the span of a few hours from getting to the campsite to bedtime, I had a full blown fever kick in. I didn't realize how lethargic I was until rewatching the clips. While it wasn't an ideal scenario, I'm still grateful I was able to see Fuji and do not regret it one bit.
Hence the lack of brain cells for the latter part of the video.
The campsite I stayed at was a 10 minute taxi ride from Kawaguchiko Station and roughly 40 minutes by foot. The dome I stayed in was a deluxe double/twin room, or 2 twin beds with the option of pushing them together for ¥28,000. You can rent grills, firepits, and even pre-order food so you don't need to do groceries yourself, however you need a minimum of 2 orders.
For someone who enjoys spending time in the outdoors, I'd recommend taking your next trip to Fuji at a camp site instead of a hotel or ryokan! Being able to bask in the views of Fuji San is such a unique experience I'll never be forget.
