Reliant Robin Her last Trip with Me

- In this Video, I Drive my reliant robin 47 miles to have her 4th MOT under my
ownership, things don't go according to plan as you will see,
I will say that this has been a great little car' and is far more pratical than most moden cars today with it's 4 foot of clear loading space with the seats down, and will carry loads more than you think, I have used it for work and through some of the most horrific weather condictions, inc deep snow, and it started everyday, I did Mobile Discos useing her as my transport, have done mobile repairs using her to carry heavy tools etc she has been a great little motor, I picked her 4 years ago from the other side of cornwall, and drove her all the way home to london, at 60 miles an hour, And after some work and a bit of loving care got her to be a good little work Horse with some bumps along the way, you can follow this jurney in the Adventures of My Reliant Robin Videos,
Im only selling her now because of the EULA regs that are coming in and the fact that my wife can't travel in her due to her rather bumpy ride, over our POT HOLE ridden Roads, So it was not worth carring out the Work needed to ger her through another MOT,
But I will say this Even though Reliant Robins can be a bitch to work on, she has been one of the the best car's I have ever owned.

It's sad to see it go. Sadly Reliant never managed to make the electric model.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your reliant, you got it just how it suited you and it served you well, legislation is ruining this type of car ownership for a lot of people, shame, it made for some good interesting video's, ah well you have the memorie's, they can't take that off you.
Your voice reminds me very much of the late Great Actor. Alfie Bass. A stsr of so many wonderful films.
Yah I sold my Reliant robin October last year for £850 to member of the Reliant owners club, so she went to a good home, I hear she is running as new now.
Sad to see her go, trying to get one myself. Some day i'm going to electrify my own robin.

Agreed but for the amount I used it, I was no going pay £12 a day, also it was getting harder to find anyone down in the south that would do an MOT on one, that's why I got rid of it in the end.
I can’t see way a robin reliant can’t be eco. Friendly. after all it does a good 70 miles to the gallon

No not as far as Know, that ULEA is to stop older car's from being used, unless they are modified.
Historic vehicles are exempt. I have a 1969 Reliant Regal saloon and a 1977 Kitten. Both would be fine.
Sorry to see its going m8, if it was a few years older the stupid ULEZ cobblers wouldn't matter. Being a Thornton Heath born lad meself always nice to see my old stamping ground altho I am more a Bromley boy than a Croydon lad but saddened to see how badly the old place has been torn up by the property maggots :( I am thinking of selling my Robin and going back onto two wheels, now both daughters are grown up its only me and the Robin seems a bit of an indulgence tbh. what did she fail on couldnt it be fixed?. Mine as failed loads of times but i always get her working again king pin replacement/ bearings etc ive always done the work my self. im sorry for your loss
It failed on the king pin, and A frame needed some small welding, the thing is, with the EULA thing coming in at some point soon I was not going to pay £12 a day to drive my car around Croydon for small trips and my insurance had gone up to £1,000 this year and cost of keeping her running was not worth it, so got myself an Electric Bike with a small Trailer and it more than dose what I need and I keep fit riding it with help, I'm 66 now and have some health problems, heart bypass and Cancer so need too keep active and the bike dose that, so I'm happy 😊.

It means that any car over years 15 years old, will have pay £12 every day to be used on the roads in a ultra low emissions area such as London and surrounding areas such as Croydon, were I live, that totals up to a lot of money ,plus running costs such as tax ,insurance etc, the amount I used the car it was not worth it, even though I loved the car but she had to go, but it did go to a good home up north, to a member of the Reliant owners club, thanks for watching.
What a sad video. I hope it’s cared for in its new home. I’ve just got a kitten £133 insurance free tax and no mot to I live in kent and these no way I’m getting robbed any longer to be on the road and khan can do one with his ulez he won’t get a penny of me if I pop inside the m25
