All footage at the range is private range and the gun is handled by a Range Officer certified by the National Range Officer Institute. This video is not promoting or attempting to sell guns. Sale of guns is heavily regulated and I am not associated with any federally licensed firearms dealer. The actions of all firearms displayed are unmodified and presented as commonly available from original equipment manufacturers. This video is not instructional on building or modifying firearms. Nothing has been done to increase the rate of fire or lethality of the firearms displayed nor would I advocate making such modification as it presents a huge liability and potential risk of harm or death."

      @@AlabamaArsenal don’t get me wrong I love dead air. I own a sandman s, a ghost, AND a mask. Everything they’ve done is innovative but this just doesn’t seem to be. I would’ve rather seen them come out with a Sandman titanium, a Wolfman 45(I would call it the del toro), or a sandman 556. That’s just me though. There seems to be a lot of time and energy put into this when I don’t feel like it was necessary

      I've never had a problem with my ASR mounts through thousands and thousands of rounds. I think it's important to move parts that get hot carbon every 500 rounds or so. For example, remove the suppressor at that round count, or switch the setting on an adjustable gas system. Then these high carbon areas stay freely moving.

    Great video. All of your videos are great.
    I went with the Griffin Plan A. It adds no length, looks great, and has numerous muzzle devices. The plan b isn’t flush, has that crappy cherry bomb and the company has zero support. Sure you can get an aftermarket muzzle device but then it adds extra length.

    I have a Sandman S in jail (I go to visit it at least once a month) that’s going to be run 1/2x28, so the included muzzle brake will not be used... while paying my $200 through Silencer Shop I ordered the flash hider style mount... it came without shims... Quick email to dead air confirmed that they don’t recommend using them anymore on the flash hider. While looking in the Sandman S box the other day I saw a note that said they did not have any shims available at the time of shipping, and to notify them when you were ready to mount a muzzle device. Cool enough.
    Thinking this new system is what I need. A big fan of the birdcage as it is.

    Unless multiple guns/suppressors are being switched frequently, I'm not sure how the Xeno is advantageous over a direct thread. Unless I'm misunderstanding, it seems like the Xeno brake can walk off the barrel (unless rocksett'd), and the Xeno adapter can loosen off the can during shooting, no different than how a direct thread adapter can loosen. Is there a reason to add one more thread that can potentially loosen with the Xeno when direct thread can be used?

    I don’t believe you measured the overall length impact of the Keymo because it overlaps the muzzle device and results in a shorter overall length to the end of your barrel. I believe that’s the best way to compare.
    Overall great video as always.

      I agree. The Xeno might be shorter at the barrel to muzzle device junction but the keymo sits further back and thus has a shorter overall length in terms of total suppressor length added to firearm.

    When you said you only had the 1/2×28 mount are you meaning the muzzle device or the mount that goes in the back of the suppressor??? Meaning will I have to buy multiple xeno mounts in different sizes and swap them around if I wanted to use the same suppressor for 223 and 308 or will 1 mount work with both 223 and 308 muzzle devices??

    Would the Rugged Obsidian 45 be able to take the KeyMod Mount like I assume the SiCo Hybrid does? If so might have to drill out some keymod brakes to 45 and put on all my 9mm and 40sw fixed barrels.

  • @RockyMountainGearTester

    So I’m theory the xeno should still work with the nomad 30 on an 8.3” barrel with a 9” hand guard?

  • @ericandi
    @ericandi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s crazy that the Keymo system weighs about 20% more than the Nomad Ti suppressor. I’m definitely not using a suppressor mounting system that weighs more than my suppressor.

  • @menash41
    @menash41 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can the Xeno have the opposite problem as the Plan B when tightening the suppressor? I feel that I'd be afraid to overtighten the suppressor and then the muzzle could be loosened.

    • @AlabamaArsenal
      @AlabamaArsenal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In theory it’s possible, but less likely. You should only have to snug up a suppressor to the mount. While after shooting the silencer could be hot needing more force to remove, and you’d be tightening a Xeno at that point. In reality either should be installed with thread locker or torqued to a spec greater than that you can achieve just putting a silencer on. Thanks for watching

    Looking for a system with accuracy retention, use on multiple guns and suppressors. Not too concerned about use without suppressor, i.e. having the Xeno mount also be a flash hider. Would you stick with 419 Hellfire adapters or DA Xeno?

    • @AlabamaArsenal
      @AlabamaArsenal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both would be an excellent choice. In my opinion if you’re mainly talking bolt guns I might go with Area419. If you have both bolt guns and some semi’s I might go Xeno. But really either one would work very well. Thanks for watching man.

      Weight savings alone!! Then add threading that won’t carbon lock and total length to the slick left hand threads design to keep the muzzle device and suppressor from coming off together....sheitte I’d say they hit this out the park. Even Q will have to tip their hat to them on this😬
