It is very frustrating as a home owner keeping up with the trends, 15 years ago I had light wood then it was out now it’s back again. Everything is cyclical and comes full circle so glad I stopped factoring trends into my design decisions years ago.

I'm so glad I just painted our master bedroom a gorgeous deep navy blue with a hint of green in it. Going for a modern take on the 20s style - lots of plants, gold accents and winter floral colours like burgundy, deep greens, mustards and mauves.
Definitely going for an eclectic feel!

Some of these trends are definitely on point with what we think could happen in the office design industry. The use of sustainable materials could result in us seeing synthetic, manmade materials being used less, and making way in favour of more sustainable, low emission, animal-friendly fabrics such as organic cotton, jute, recycled wood and re-purposed plastics. Also, being able to bring as much natural light into the office is important and enhances the effect of natural elements. As humans, we are drawn to nature and daylight, so it is only natural for employees to crave light rather than being tucked away in badly lit spaces while at work.

As an architectural drafter and an interior designer myself, I somewhat hate it when someone else just "define" the trend for me. There is no trend in the industry. People make up trends so others will follow blindly, and that will eventually lead to profitable results for these people who think they are qualified to determine what other people SHOULD follow.
I mean, after all, the best design is a design approved by your client.

Most people do not like odd or weird furniture, that's why "traditional" has reigned supreme forever. Most people don't change their furniture style like they change their style of shoes either. I think they are just running out of ideas so they keep creating "trends". Also if it feels good to you and makes you happy then buy it. You will find a place for it in your home. Home is about YOU...not what is "trending".
