Use own freedom to shut others up? What do you mean? We have a supreme court judge issuing laws against the constitution he was supposed to uphold to censor political opposition.
Basically twitter needed a law representative in the country, Musk cancelled the contract with law repersentative and got banned. Very simple and straight foward.

Jessica has some parts of the story incorrect. Starlink said it would comply with the X ban. Then Morales froze Starlink assets prior to the X ban going into affect, sigting X had unpaid fines.
However, this is illegal as Starlink is a different company with different owners. Starlink then said they would only ban X if their assets were returned.
This illegal action ny morales against Starlink has been called out by Brazils top law society. Jessica implies that Starlink was not going to ban X, when that is false.

Her defense of Venezuela for being "Socialist" is perplexing. One would expect her to recognize the distinction between a country with a centrally planned economy (Communism) and one like Sweden, which combines robust social programs with a largely capitalist economy.

Canceling the account would be an early restriction of the user's opinion, an action prohibited by law. In addition, the judge requested the secret blocking, not based on any law in the Brazilian constitution, of accounts belonging to users who published opinions against the political party they represent (including the account of an elected senator of the republic).

Sad to see how lack of information and the belief in a twisted rhetoric blind the views of this young lady, who probably do not know that Alexandre de Moraes ordered the “production of evidence” to be used in his draconian rulings in clear violation of the Brazilian constitution. Free speech is the only way to achieve a real democracy - not trying to eliminate opponents as it is De Moraes’s modus operandi.

The CIA has been active in Brazil for decades. They, together with the representatives of wealthy, privaleged Brazilians have been responsible for the tragic wealth disparity in Brazil and two unfortunate presidencies, Temer (convicted of fraud and barred from political office) and the solidly right wing Bolsonaro who only won the election because the current President Lula de Silva was jailed in the back of beyond on false charges. During Lula's term of office Brazil began to shine both politically, economically and socially. Voters responded by next electing his protege, Dilma Rousseff who was removed from office on false charges and the corrupt Temer inserted into office by fascist elements in Congress.
As far as I can see, Lula is working to rebuild what was destroyed by his successors. If there is a fascist element in Brazil who are responsible for censorship, I don't think it's coming from Lula who suffered at their hands but of the US Ricos coalition who think Brazil is theirs to do as it wishes. Who resent sharing their wealth and power with the majority of the Brazilian people.

In Jessica's world, the government has to step in to decide what is true and what is misinformation. I know that the show is supposed to hold bipartisan viewpoints, but why do we always get someone on the right side of the screen who is rational and has cogent arguments but someone on the left side of the screen that never backs up their accusations with facts and just says whatever insane point that they want to make. I yearn for the day where we will be able to see Robbie Suave and Amber Duke together on Rising as co-hosts. (Although there is already a show for this...)

Americans are just upset that their companies and billionaires aren't allowed to profit in a foreign country. She cannot understand that an American company in Brazil needs to follow Brazilian laws , which the justice A.Moraes was asking X to break it , THE BRAZILIAN CONSTITUTION acting against free speech and assume the act . The Hill needs to hire a journalist that know the entire situation to talk about which this woman doesn’t know . The only thing she said was the name of Elon so many times .
X will be prevented from operating until Mr. Musk complies with Brazilian law: {Article 1134 of Law No. 10,406 of January 10, 2002 => Art. 1,134. => § 1º => V - proof of appointment of the representative in Brazil, with express powers to accept the conditions required for authorization.} Law is law, the rest is interests, mess and ignorance.
