Boiling caramel has to be one of the most dangerous non toxic/poisonous substances. Not only will it burn you but it solidifies on you on contact and its nearly impossible to pull off without ripping the skin out.
You ever hear about cane sugar plantations and refineries? If the syrup that's being boiled down splashes on you, it's horrible. It sticks and continues to burn. Carmel is one of the stages.
This is a very sad story smdh all she wanted to do was provide for her and her son ....and she gets killed while working my condolences goes out to the family I hope they sued the heck out of this company.....I know money can't replace her but it will surely help .....they deserve this money
It's her fault, why didn't she lockout/tag out? That is required by OSHA by every person in that part of the plant when maintenance is being performed. The hot caramel coming into the tank is controlled by a control panel with an emergency E-stop and a breaker that controls the release of boiling caramel. That control panel must be shut down and a lock put on it with her name and phone number. If she is the only one working there, she is the only one with a key and it is impossible for that caramel to enter that tank with the power locked off. Any other employees anywhere near that area must also put a lock on the control panel with their name and phone number. This way, that breaker cannot be turned on without her specifically unlocking it. I'm an electrician and do this daily and I will say it is an inconvenience to do, because it's a process and you just want to get the job done quickly. Many times people do this without locking out, because they don't see any danger in quickly cleaning something. They may even turn the breaker off, but anyone can come by and turn it back on without a lock. That's what happened here, she shut off the caramel and thought she could get by the whole lock out process and also you must fill out a JSA ( Job safety analysis) form for every new project. This is to confirm that you did lock out, you know all the risks and you list all the proper PPE that you will be using. All these annoying safety measures are to prevent this exact scenario.
@@desertweasel6965as someone who's worked in factory and such even for shutting down equipment to clean it for 4 hours minimal lock out protocol is how you say and even as a low end worker in the sense of anyone could order me around I still had my lock out lock and key on hand at all times when I was on shift. So makes me wonder did she just not have trainjng or did she get to comfortable with the job.
Also you have to make sure there’s no energy or other hazards left over in the machine, there were two men who died after getting trapped in a huge bread oven because it was shut off but the inside stayed hot for a few hours. There was also a gasoline refinery that blew up because someone opened a reaction vessel and let in the air while it still had fuel leaking into it and a machine that created sparks
Very bad factory and non existential safety then! So through an error the pot she was IN & cleaning was somehow still connected to boiling hot caramel somehow? And no other person was there that could have stopped that from happening or getting her out? This should never had happened.
In all likelihood, the boiling hot caramel was supplied by piping and it's flow controlled by a valve. You don't totally dismantle industrial machinery just to clean something. m Perhaps the valve failed or maybe there was an issue in the control system. Definitely scary if there wasn't an emergency cutoff or at least some sort of panic button.

This is why lockout of machinery is so critical. For those unfamiliar with working in an industrial setting, I’ll explain. Employees having to do maintenance-type duties are issued locks with their name and photo on the lock. Anytime maintenance has to be done to machinery, there is a procedure for turning the power off to the equipment and placing a lock on the power switch. That way, someone who comes along and thinks the power was off unintentionally is physically unable to power-up the machine with an employee inside of it. Punishment for violations of lockout procedure can be up to and including termination of employment.
A motorcycle accident broke every rib on the right side of my body and fractured 2 on the left and dislocated my hip. The agony I endured for months is nothing in comparison to the mere 10s of seconds she was forced to endure. I made a full recovery and better shape than before because that type of thing can change your entire outlook on life. Her accident was not alloted a second chance.
There really needs to be more safety procedures for factories considering all the dangerous equipment. This one reminds me of another one you mentioned with a guy being burned alive in some sort of oven meant for (I think) wax or kayaks.
The way she died had to be absolutely horrifying. I can't even begin to imagine the pain she felt as well as the absolute horror, being submerged in boiling caramel and every single part of your body is in unimaginable pain. And being that the mixer was on, it's possible that it pulled her under. So not only was she in excruciating pain, but likely was drowning / suffocating in it as well and it likely entered her nose and mouth and it hardened in her throat and lungs as it has a lower boiling point, effectively suffocating her while the rest of her body was boiling alive.
Boiling caramel has to be one of the most dangerous non toxic/poisonous substances. Not only will it burn you but it solidifies on you on contact and its nearly impossible to pull off without ripping the skin out.

And I thought Cartman's chili was insane
Fairly certain that event from South Park was inspired by Titus Andronicus.
Reminds me of someone who told me about a similar incident about his co worker who fell into a boiler. So sad. 😢
this woman got stuck in the boiling caramel, she doesn't know it yet

This is why lockout of machinery is so critical. For those unfamiliar with working in an industrial setting, I’ll explain. Employees having to do maintenance-type duties are issued locks with their name and photo on the lock. Anytime maintenance has to be done to machinery, there is a procedure for turning the power off to the equipment and placing a lock on the power switch. That way, someone who comes along and thinks the power was off unintentionally is physically unable to power-up the machine with an employee inside of it. Punishment for violations of lockout procedure can be up to and including termination of employment.
"Yeah you get that Yummy Yummy" 💀

A motorcycle accident broke every rib on the right side of my body and fractured 2 on the left and dislocated my hip. The agony I endured for months is nothing in comparison to the mere 10s of seconds she was forced to endure. I made a full recovery and better shape than before because that type of thing can change your entire outlook on life. Her accident was not alloted a second chance.
Bro really was cooked irl 💀

You're going straight to hell you know that right.
So funny 🤓🤓🤓
Sorry for her loss, how sad and painful sounding.
It's not an accident, it's a murder.
Can you prove it?
Oh my goodness... that is horrific... 😢😢😢 may she RIP 🙏 🙏 🙏

There really needs to be more safety procedures for factories considering all the dangerous equipment. This one reminds me of another one you mentioned with a guy being burned alive in some sort of oven meant for (I think) wax or kayaks.
Oil up lil bro
This brainrot is ridiculous, no wonder it's on the 10%

😮. May this poor woman rest in peace 🕊️
Sugar burns are horrible- I can’t imagine how much poor Natalia suffered. 💔
May she rest in peace. Horrible way to go, knowing you have a child that IS waiting for you. Horrible. My condeleances to the family
That is one the worst things I’ve ever heard. What she must have gone through. I can’t imagine. Her family must be so devastated and horrified.
