Both are great cameras. I would think it comes down to price, preference and the lenses you may already have in your collection, if any. Can't go wrong with either. The Sony a6000 has electronic viewfinder while the X-A5 doesn't. The X-A5 on the other hand has a flip-up display, this feature is not available on the Sony. So...really up to your preference but the Fujifilm sensor is nice and the software support is better. Though you might want to also consider Canon M50, same performance with faster autofocus, smaller and more compact, comes with a flip-screen and a electronic viewfinder, and it's cheaper here in Malaysia.

Other than the sensor size being bigger, you get a view finder, in body stabilisation, mic input and fully articulated screen. That's just that basic better points.
How is the autofocus and manual focus?. I'm interested in this camera as I don't want Sony because the focus it's terrible and the UI to find the setting it's annoying. How is compared the focusing option to the Olympus pen pl8?, Also In body stabilisation?.
Manual focus on the PZ lens is by-wire, so I'm not a big fan of it. Autofocus feels pretty good based on my first impressions. As far as I can tell the UI is standard Fuji stuff so I think it's better than Sony's. Sony's menu is the worst i've ever used. No idea about the Pen E-PL8, never used it before. There's no IBIS, only one camera in Fuji's X lineup that has IBIS and it's their flagship X-H1. - R
Unknown 29 i have x-a1, which is so "old" but the photos are still very detailed and high iso performance is amazing. So newer x-a5 should be even better

The Fujifilm uses APS-C sensor which is bigger than the GX850 and the Fujifilm has IBIS. My money's on the Fuji.
