    I filled up at kulai and drove to ayer keroh jejantas, i drove 110kph the entire way and i had an estimated range of 832km left on the computer. I was shocked that the e250 could produce those kinds of numbers. Can this do better ?

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the charge level of your battery, but given the relatively short distance between Kulai and Ayer Keroh, can expect the E 350e to do better. However, if you were to cover the distance between, say, KL and JB or Penang and JB, don't be surprised that the E 250 may turn out to be more economical.
      Bear in mind that the E 350e needs its batteries fully charged in order to realize its full fuel economy potential. Funny as it may sound, PHEVs are most efficient in town driving, where the electric motor can step in during low speed driving and also the car can stop to recharge more often.
      On highways, the E 250 may actually be more economical and may even cover further distance between refills as it will also have a bigger fuel tank.

    Kon, nice review! Can you clarify on the combine electric power? On paper it sounds beri powderfull! Is that so in driving condition? Thanks!

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Combine electric power here means the net system output when the engine and electric motor work together. Output from the engine will be quite fixed, but the electric motor's output depends on the battery. So, if your battery is empty, the engine has to do all the work of driving the car. In practice, the E 350 e is a powerful car, but the petrol engine to me lacks the refinement you'd expect of a E-Class. Feels a little rough.

    so true agreed!! we love the popped up star rather than this star on the grill

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. Sportier models like the C-Class suit the star-on-grille better, but I prefer the E- and S-Class to come with the more stately pop-up star.

    Hai kon, just wanna ask u did u feel like the current e200 avantgarde agility suspension with 15mm lowered a bit stiffer compare to its rival like bmw 5 series? My experience driving the E200 feels a bit stiffer and it doesn’t absorb the bumps really well compare to my friend F10 520d.. just want to have ur opinion on this.. The title of relaxing drive goes to the F10 i guess..

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Trio Logic only drove the E 200 in AMG Line suspension, but i think should be similar settings to Avantgarde. Yeah, no question that the F10 has a more comfortable ride.

    • @triologic4543
      @triologic4543 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kon Wai Luen yeahhh that’s what i thought the f10 is much more comfortable.. Then bmw should have that title of a comfortable car because all this while people always said that mercedes is a comfortable car and bmw is a dynamic car for sporty driving and all that..

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Trio Logic recent-gen BMWs such as the F10 5 Series and F30 Series are extremely well-rounded dynamically in the sense that they both handle well and ride comfortably. That being said, the F10 only really feels well-resolved with the later 2.0 N20 engine models. The earlier inline-6 NA cars werent as comfortable.

    • @triologic4543
      @triologic4543 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kon Wai Luen yeah agree with you. I see, so basically in the segment right now bmw is leading the way with balance setup between comfortable and sporty driving.. anyway thank you for the info and ur opinion on this.. you’re great man !

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That requires me being an owner, but from what I hear, Mercs are expensive to service if you service at the official channels, though I don't hear of complaints of service quality or efficiency.

    Imagine having to break your front bumber against the sidewalk every time you need to charge the battery... this may be the reason of having the charging spot in the back.

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people I spoke to actually don't seem to have an issue with the front fender charging port placement. In fact, it was even justified to me that it is a safety measure to put the charging port on opposite end of the car from the fuel filler cap.
