I agree with Camp More Bark Less's remark - this is going to be a great series. I just assumed the color of the water going over the falls was just due to all the iron ore - didn't know it was because of tannin from the cedar swamps upstream. Now I can say I have learned something today - thx 😉 Also - awesome collaboration with Audrey Callahan on using her for the closing music - I thought I had recognized her voice and then the credits rolled and there she was!

Thanks for watching and commenting -- I'm glad you learned something, too! When I started putting the video together, I knew I wanted to find some good vocals to go over some of the sweeping drone shots. Then I started thinking about nomads who sing because if we're going to promote someone's music, it might as well be one of them. Audrey was great to work with and I'm thrilled to give her some more attention. -Ari

Oh and I love the song by Audrey Callahan. Will be looking for her on TH-cam.

An excellent video. It was a nice surprise to hear a familiar song in the video as you head down the brink of the upper falls. I look forward to the coverage of all the state parks.

Thanks for watching and commenting. When we were thinking about some different music choices for various shots, we talked about how we need to start promoting nomadic musicians and singers. We'll look for ways to do that in other videos, too.

My kids call it root beer falls. Beautiful area. Haven't visited in winter. Beautiful.

As Jessi noted in the video, that color is one of the things that makes Tahquamenon Falls special. In January, they're more like Rootbeer Float Falls though! 🙂 -Ari

I love Tahquamenon Falls in the winter! The snow along the falls reminds me of toasted marshmallows! We normally go camping every year in April here (it's still pretty much winter at that time in the U.P. of course). Unfortunately Covid-19 did not allow us this year :( I'm so happy I found your channel!! My husband and I LOVE exploring our great state of Michigan!

We have been doing our January camping trip at Tahquamenon Falls for 5 years now and always look forward to it. It means extra preparation because it's winter camping, but we think it's worth it (at least once per year LOL). Thanks for the nice compliment about our channel. Visiting every state park in Michigan was a lot of work but we had fun and appreciate hearing from folks who are enjoying the videos. Safe travels!! -Ari

Absolutely love your videos! On a upper peninsula trip for 10 days with my beautiful wife that I mostly planned out off of your videos. In a basic chevy express that we're building out but with a roadtrek like yall had as the goal eventually. After this trip we're already seriously discussing a dodge roadtrek as they're a little cheaper for our next rig with our hobda rebel 1100 dct on a hitch carrier for secondary transportation. Thanks so much for all your informative videos. Hope to run into you someday soon!

We loved reading this comment and are glad our videos were helpful with your trip planning.
Excited to hear about your plans for the Chevy build-out and it sounds like your plan for a ready-made Class B with easy-to-carry secondary transportation would work well.
Keep on trekin' and safe travels to you!!

Now, That is my kind of camping. Tahquamenon Falls sure is a beautiful place. I remember seeing the falls when I was very young but not much about the rest of the park. I'd sure love to go visit falls again. Thanks for the video.

As noted, we really love spending time in that park. No matter what time of year, there seems to be something special about it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I so enjoyed this video. Lots of info and fun. I was wondering in Mike and Jennifer Wendlands same place video why the water had that color. I like the name calling it Root Beer falls. I hope to see all you Trekkers next January in my Roadtrek Zion. Still working on the purchase of it. Can’t wait to see your future videos. Keep on Treken.

We love Tahquamenon Falls! Our family has property in Newberry off Kelly Lake, even had the road there named after our last name! When we are up there we make a stop at Little Falls Inn and we have never been disappointed! If you have your itinerary planned for MI State Parks 100 let us know and many we can meet up at one of the parks! Anywho have a great week and keep warm! -13 with wind chill here in Warren, MI!
