      No CDL! 25,500 GVWR!

      Door label said GVWR 25500. That's under 26k

      Can you add a link to the company that built the set up

    • @robfelts8076

      26k and under is non-cdl in most states as long as you aren't doing business across state lines.

      Awesome video, what’s the difference between 54” hook then 36” , and how’s the turning radius on your truck, tia.

    Props on what you’re doing. I enjoy the vids. I started roll off company when I was 21. 16 years later 3 trucks and 100 dumpsters. I’ve kept it this size for the last few years. It’s a great business but like anything, it has its ups and downs and good years and bad years. I learned a lot about who I am dedicating pretty much all of my 20s to working for my self to grow my company. I get a sense of pride working for myself and it out weighs the lows and hardships that can happen being a business owner. It’s not for everyone. All the best to you. Just keep moving forward. I think you have what takes. Cheers.

      I appreciate that brother. Been in business in one fashion or another for myself since I was 18. This is a side business right now but is quickly becoming more than that. Impressive on the growth of your business! Definitely I hear you when you say being a business owner isn't for everyone. Some just like a steady paycheck and a 9-5, more power to them as the world needs a little of both to run. That's just not for me.

    It’s best to set the dumpster rollers on the ground when offloading and then use the gas pedal and brake together. That way, you ease the truck out from underneath without dragging the dumpster and tearing up concrete or grass. Do the same when loading. Just takes a little practice and you’ll see what I mean.

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My PTO won’t work when the truck is in gear. I have set it in N to allow the truck to slowly use the weight of the can to move it forward if it’s being set on grass but on concrete it doesn’t work so well.

    Do you use wood to protect driveways and potential asphalt indentations?

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No sir, not yet. I used to, but found no need with the wheels in the back and how easily they roll. The only time I may leave a little scratch on a driveway is if I hit a rock and don't notice it and it gets stuck under the dumpster wheel while unloading. Other than that, there are no scratches, indentations etc. Yet...

    Is that a 16ft can on your Hino or 14ft? and can you run with 16?

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was able to haul 14’ and 16’ cans on the Hino. The 16’ ones have a 2 ‘ overhang which is legal here in Texas

    Make sure you pay attention if one of those wheels on the can are frozen it will jump the hook and go flying off the truck I’ve been doing roll off for a long time and can’t tell you how many times either the dumpster wheel or the roller on the truck froze up forcing the can to jump the hook and unload itself and hit a house car or human behind it, cool set up bye the way 😎

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This has almost happened already a couple times. Worries me for sure. My issue is, if I leave the chains loose or not pulled in tight enough, the chain gets caught under the wheel. Just yesterday I dropped a 15 but the driveway was cracked right down the middle and extremely narrow, which made the driveway slant hard on both sides going down. The rails touched way before the wheels did and I felt the hook swing to one side hard. Had to put it in neutral and drop the can right there without rolling it back any further. Definitely have to be 100% aware when dropping!! I appreciate the watch and comment!!

    Quick question... Do you know if landfills care about your gvwr or enforce any kind of DOT rules... For example if my trailer gvwr is 9990lbs but my axles are rated for 14k lbs and my overall trailer weight is 15k lbs with trash would the landfill stop me and report me or do they not care about how much I weigh?

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They could care less. They only care how much you weigh full, and how much you weigh empty so they can charge you the difference!

    Wow in one year from Utility Traler to dump trailer to roll off trailer to hook Lift truck Ive Been following you for a year whats the secret Ridiculous growth in one year Mad respect what’s your advice to to grow this fast obviously everybody budget when starting is different is that the key factor Just Curious

      I truly appreciate it brother!! No trick, I swear!! Truly hard work, grind. Luckily, I am able to put 100% of my profits back into the business as I have other sources of income. I haven't paid myself yet. I HAVE however spent money on items that were unnecessary such as my wrap, dumpsters, truck accessories etc that were paid for by the business but that could have been considered as personal income/revenue. Either way, always invest back into your business, it's the only way you will grow!

    Is that truck automatic or stick ?
    What kind of transmission is in it ?
    Our trucks you can be in gear with pto on much easier we use wood for every driveway even concrete driveways

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Auto with I believe an Allison transmission. I don't use wood, yet at least. No scratches that I have seen. Wheels roll perfectly. I will be request a bigger dumpster wheel though on my next cans.

    • @davidlicht4418
      @davidlicht4418 3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @clairemontmesacarwash8784

    If you stay in your truck when delivering you can set the box where you want it and roll the truck out from under the box and the box never drags across the driveway making marks.
    You don’t have to put the hook in to drive with no box it just waste time there for waste money

    I have a lead on an older Class 8 truck with a swap loader for less than $20k. Might have to get it and then get my CDL. Let us know what your fuel mileage looks like with that truck

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right about 8.5 mpg average! Under 20k is a steal. Worst case scenario flip it and make an easy $5/$10k or more!

    Great looking truck. Rail system looks very well built. Congratulations. One question, it seems as though this type of system needs to tilt the bin higher up. Any concern with the added weight/stress on the rear doors?

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would be concerned if I had the LoneStar bins, but the Keystone dumpsters are built to withstand wayyyy more than we can throw at them! No concern whatsoever. The only concern I have is to make sure I have the doors closed and locked up before pulling it up, because that hooklift I’m sure will rip those hinges right off if the door were open.
