There might be enough peace lily plantlets in the pot where you could split the plant and put half in the aquarium and keep the other half in the pot. Just an idea.
@@ecscapes From what I’ve looked up before, it’s all up to the temperament of the betta. Some did but some left them alone or only ate the occasional fry. You’re probably right though. Your tank would need a little more spots for hiding like ferns or some type of grass
This is a beautiful scape! I have the UNS 45S and the crypts and Anubias grow perferctly since they're so close to the surface. Beautiful Corys and Betta:)
Quick question, will the betta jump out of the tank if it’s uncovered. I am setting up mine and everyone’s been warning me about the betta jump. Appreciate your inputs! Many thanks!
@pranavpugaonkar6674 this betta fish has not jumped for me, but I hear that they can be jumpers. I am putting together an update video for this tank and will discuss this topic and why I think this betta fish hasn’t jumped.
Just got a Betta 2.5 months ago. I upgraded him from a 5 gal to a 10 gallon. I thought we were supposed to always keep tanks covered? My little guy jumps often when he's excited. My worst fear is waking up/coming home to him dead on my floor. How do you ensure they do not jump out on an uncovered tank??
@Schizoaffective_Perspective good question. The tank has been going for circa 150 days now and so far the Betta fish hasn’t shown any signs of jumping. I think that it may be down to having most of the surface water covered with floating plants. I hope this helps.
Looks amazing! How to keep it clean? That is my number 1 question. I have a small 1 ft x 1 ft fish tank for my guppies and a few aqua plants. I used to change my water ever 2 weeks but I realized that is not good for guppies and the plants. So I learnt to siphon and we changed 30% of the water. Our few guppies died earlier and I guess the sterile water was the reason? Or massive water change? But hoping we can stick to this routine to keep them healthy and happy! But honestly with such delicate and intricate details to your rank, how do you keep it clean!
@khuzdaar do you add anything to the water to make it safe for fish? Lots of products do this, api do a tap water conditioner. I am going to do an update video on this tank soon and will complete a full maintenance session.
Just a question.... how would you clean the gravel as it would be difficult for you to suck up the waste and loose the look of the aqua scape as well no.? ......Not over all but in general?
@lashormigasdesabas8689 the tank is the UNS 60s, 60x38x18 cm I think. Glad you liked the build, I will be doing an update video on this tank in the next few weeks to show you all how it has settled in.

@goldsteinshekelberg7597, because of the high surface area to total water volume ratio? Well, this week has been (for the UK) pretty hot and the water level went down less than half a centimetre through evaporation. So no real difference to the other tanks I have.
To add on, I live in South East Asia (Malaysia), hot days go up to 30-35 degrees Celsius (sometimes even more). Surprisingly evaporation isn’t much of a problem. But if you add a fan to it to bring the tank temp down, evaporation escalates really quickly (gotta top up water every 3 days).
