It’s a great stills camera, but terrible for video. Shows a lot of moire and aliasing on fine lines, including peoples shirts and coats. The R7 in fine mode is better. Or an R5c
@ I agree. As creators we tend to focus on the flaws of our equipment. But customers never notice these things. I’ve seen this camera as low as $1100. Because of price and performance I think it’s one of the best hybrid cameras ever made.
Hey! New subscriber here! Just found you from searching about Canon R50 tips and tricks. Question: Do you have a video on how to set the auto focus for videos on the R50? I record cooking videos with up-close shots. And my hands and coming in and out of the camera quickly. Its taking a couple seconds to focus on my hands. What am i doing wrong? Or did i buy the wrong camera for what im doing? Lol
I bought the R8 and at first I thought it was a great video camera. But then I took it on the job to use as a B camera for a corporate video. I could not believe the horrible dancing moire on a clients shirt. It looked like Canon 5D mark II video from 2009. So unfortunately, it’s a good stills camera for the price, but not for Video.
I bought my Canon R8 with my RF 24mm F1.8 six months ago, and I love it.
Very helpful cause i use this camera regularly
Wich JPGE you recomend?
You mentioned battery life, is it cuz you’re using the off brand amazon batteries? Or have you noticed a difference?
Thanks!
Most slept on camera of the last 2 years.
