    American vs European Doctors: who makes MORE MONEY?💰👨‍⚕️
    Some key assumptions:
    -Both invest half their income & get an 8% average annual return
    -The American doctor pays off his debt (also using half of his income) before investing
    -Both receive roughly the median pay (though doctor pay varies pretty widely among EU countries)
    Clearly, becoming a doctor is a lucrative profession no matter where you live (not that money should be your primary motivation to become one), but are American or European doctors better off?
    Yes, American doctors are often burdened with an immense amount of debt, but their average salaries are 2-5x those of European doctors.
    But does the lack of debt + head start with investing pay off for European doctors? Watch until the end to see👀
    Top tax rates in Europe tend to be ~10% higher than those in the US, and the threshold to reach the top bracket is much lower (so more people are subject to higher rates)

    • @alexander_markovski
      @alexander_markovski ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edixonvc5101 they basically just tax you a little bit of your paycheck once you’re above a baseline amount, something like above £24,500. So you keep your earnings to that level (minus tax) then above that bracket, something like 10% of the rest of your earnings automatically goes to your student loan repayment. You can choose to pay more obviously, but if you’re earning £30K after tax, they’d only be taking £550 for that year. Since uni is £9.5K plus a maintenance loan of minimum £4.5k, per year, plus interest, £550 per year isn’t gonna pay that off.
      These are ballpark guesses, specifically about uk student loans, so if you’re interested in the exact figures I’m sure Google can give a more well-rounded explanation than some rando Londoner

If I have a major issue I'll just finance it and pay for it later with a 0% interest loan. America is what you make it, if you're dumb and lazy you'll suffer. If you're determined and hard-working you will be rewarded. It's the typical capitalism vs socialism debate there are certainly pros and cons to both structures. depending on the type of person you are you'll benefit from one more than the other.
