Saw her in concert twice , 1973 and 1975. I’m an artist and I sketched her . She invited me backstage and I kissed her on the cheek. Classy lady. Seeing her live , her voice blows one away. She sang the Tom Jones hit “ I, who Have Nothing “ with more power than him and that’s hard to do. When I saw her the second time, she remembered me from the first time. When she sang “ You Are The Sunshine of my Life “ the verse, “ you must have known that I was coming “ she pointed to me in the front row. I was 21 when I first met her. Fan forever.
I never noticed Brenda's scar before, above the bridge of her nose. I still listen to her all the time, particularly her hit, "End of the World."
As a child , she fell off a counter hitting her face on an old fashioned can opener. Drs. Back then didn’t have the technology to avoid scarring as they do today. She always felt self conscious about it, using makeup and bangs to cover it up. Never stopped her beauty and cuteness and outstanding voice .

This is a little like Lee's own life. Her father died and she supported her family, starting age 10. She was a Grady Baby from my hometown Atlanta Ga.
I'm a Grady baby. Brenda Lee used to play with my older brother Dorsey. My favorite song is Rocking Around the CHRISTMAS Tree 😊

I’ve known of Brenda Lee. Truth, I never paid her any attention. I grew up mainly with r&b, gospel and some pop/country, but I like her voice. It’s kind of soulful. I’m late, but I’m going to check out her catalog of work.
Episode number is correct, but the title and description are wrong. This is actually "Teenage Thrush", original air date 15 May 1961.
